Set within a cellar of a 16th-century farmhouse, an ancient mail-station, the hotel’s Poggiomanente Restaurant offers an atmosphere which is at the same time rural and refined. The Upper Tiber Valley is in the northernmost Umbrian territory. The Tiber River runs through the entire length of the valley, for 50 km, bestowing great fertility on the soil. The district comprises of several interesting towns including: Città di Castello; Umbertide; Gubbio; Perugia; Spello; and Trasimeno Lake. The entire district is home to splendid works of art, and a happy balance has been achieved between ancient and modern tradition. By Car:
From Florence:
- Take the A1.
- Exit in the direction of Roma.
- Exit at Arezzo, in the direction of Città di Castello.
- Follow the E-45 Superstrada in the direction of Perugia.
- Take the 2nd exit, signposted towards Umbertide zona industriale-Gubbio.
- Following Gubbio, turn right and continue straight on for about 800 metres until you reach the sign for Poggiomanente on the left-hand side.

From Rome:
- Take the A1.
- Exit in the direction of Firenze.
- Exit towards Orte.
- Follow the E-45 Superstrada in the direction of Cesena.
- Exit towards Umbertide/Gubbio.
- Turn right, following signs for Gubbio.
- Continue straight on for about 800 metres until you reach the sign for Poggiomanente on the left-hand side.
