The Piccolo Hotel Puccini offers a small, family-run atmosphere in a quiet area of the historic center of Lucca. The birthplace of the opera composer Giacomo Puccini is just around the corner.

Very close to the central piazza. great for people watching and access to attractions.
Very noisy in evenings. A little run down. A long way from parking. but relatively cheap so expected.
Room and facilities were fine The location is great and close to all the main sights in Lucca
The apartment building is old and kitchen and bathroom facilities are slightly run down There was a problem with guests that arrived too late and could not check in and as they stayed in the corridor their snoring kept us out of our sleep Apparently, communication with the owners was not well as they could not be reached by the guests
Great location, we stayed in Annex in middle of city. So centrally located, bit noisy in the morning with delivery vans but not too bad. Staff (Jada) was so friendly and nice, we had a very pleasant walk with her from main building to the annex.
No wifi. Not the cleanest looking place in the world. Bathroom did not look great. For the price paid, we got a lot better in other places but I think Lucca may be expensive for accomadation
The annex room was reasonably quiet, with ensuite bathroom and good shower.
The annex (which is 10 minutes walk from the main reception) does not have wifi available.
The price. The atention was good. It is cute.
A bit noisy in the early night.
Nice staff, received us in late time for check in. The place is clean and silent.
Be aware of check in times. No late check in is possible.
In city centre Price
central location within the walls
Nice location within the city walls, 10 to 15 minute walk to the train station, 2 minute walk to the wall. Basic accommodation, but value for money.
Location, staff, room
Room was facing the street, and it was quite noisy.
The women who checked us in was exceptionally helpful and friendly, we couldn't have had a better welcome to Lucca. She answered all her questions (in English), offered us additional help and made us feel right at home. The location was great as well.
Close walk to everything
Bit noisy, cafe nearby and lots of ca noise, chatter in the street late at night.
Great location very central.
Felt very austere. Place could do with a coat of paint and a few basics like glasses for water, maybe even tea and coffee making facilities or vending machine for drinks in the common area.
Not much, but the staff was as helpful as possible. The distance from the check in site and the actual room was quite lengthy and only accomplished on foot as is customary in Lucca. But with the heavy suitcases it was a challenge. Thankfully the very nice, Nertila ( I think) was quite helpful in that regard. Also Andnea the owner was helpful .
The room and the bathroom across the hall while private was antiquated and I decided to forgo a shower since I thought I'd remain cleaner without. Because it was in the heart of town the Italians carried on late into the night on the street below -- ear plugs are mandatory at this location. The mattress was ripped open and stuffed with foam somewhat falling apart. While the price was attractive, for the money paid I think the particular facility I was in should be rated a one star not two. Next time I will stay outside the walls of the City and have the hotel provide me a bicycle.
Location, friendly helpful staff, extremely good value for money. Clean and comfortable basic with shared bathrooms which was not a problem as there were three available.
Feel the kitchen could be better utilised. It is difficult to provide a shared facility in respect of left over food in the fridge and old soiled chopping boards. Feel a trip to ikea to replace some items and control the contents of the fridge more would greatly improve what is already a good facility.
The room was nice and big for our family and the location was great for touring Lucca.
We had the shared bathroom option, but we won't do that again. The shower curtain was half brown when it should be white. There was mold on the walls and the floor was sticky. Bring flip flops for the shower if you stay here.
