Location - right in central Florence, just walk out the door on to well known sandwich shops and within walking distance of all the central Florence attractions/restaurants

perfect location close to everything you need to see. Very big apartment by Italian standards. Host Patrick was brilliant he spent time with us when we arrived, i text him on his phone a few times to ask him questions and he was always quick to respond and extremely helpful. Washing machine was great, halfway through our trip.

Although Patrick supplied us with fans, its not enough this apartment gets hot and only has one window with no cross breeze to cool it down. I have been advised they are putting in AC soon. It needs it.

Very nice and very helpful staff (Vincent) Location at walking distance from all major tourist attractions Very comfortable apartment, beautifully decorated, with well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms washing machine looks is a plus, although without a dryer, it may be difficult to use quiet if sleeping in the bedroom

Very noisy if sleeping on the sofa High staircase for people with health issues or young children Tricky to get there with a car and without Vincent's help

Loved the central location and the feel of the apartment.

Would be great if it were air conditioned. We were hot! It also would help mask the noise, which was a real problem from the street (very popular sandwich shop below window, open all hours) and the stairwell.

Manager Vincent Raffetto was a really fine, helpful guy. Expect that this will not be a hotel experience, but a casual rental of a clean but basic apartment without air conditioning and without concierge services (beyond Vincent's abundant information), and you should be very happy. Vincent usually meets clientele at the cafe just below the apartments, so take that for the front desk, tell him when you're coming, be accurate (for his sake) and get his cell number, for both your sakes. If it isn't otherwise obvious: all apartments are above street level, behind a locked common entry door -- it's a safe place, and a whole block away from the best there is in Florence, in sight of the Loggia and Palazzo Vecchio. I've written all this because I appreciated their effort to make this a good place to be, especially for a week-long stay for the hard-core user of museums, research libraries, etc. Three blocks down out the left of the front door is a small supermarket that does the job very well.

Expect a boisterous pleasant neighborhood well into the night (and super sandwich shops just below your apartment). Unless you're used to drunken but probably harmless youth singing and shouting at 2AM below your window, bring earplugs, bring earplugs, bring earplugs!

The proprietor was very helpful and friendly: he spoke excellent English, gave me an annotated map with recommendations of places to eat and visit during my stay, and was responsive by phone and email in the hectic few minutes when I was just arriving and couldn't find the place.

The wifi network was not available in the bedroom, only in the living room. Also, the entryway to the apartments isn't labelled as Dante States Apartments, it just looks like a wooden apartment door. If you're confused, ask the owner of the coffee shop on the corner (two doors to the right); she's friendly and knows the owner of the Dante States Apartments.

Vincent was great and the location was convenient to places we wanted to explore. The café next door had wonderful cappuccino and the sandwich Shoppe two doors down had a constant queue.

The location is incredibly noisy. The kebab place across the way has yelling, banging, arguing, partying going on until the wee hours nightly. Literally, until 4 to 6 a.m. It was not possible to sleep with the windows closed in the summer.

It was a very easy place to stay right on the doorstep of the centre of Florence. At night it felt like returning home.

We stayed for 9 days at the end of May - early June and it was just perfect. The building and our apartment called Giotto are very authentic and cozy, yet equipped with modern kitchen, appliances and facilities. The location was amazing and we really enjoyed all the social activity right outside our window and door. Vince was extremely welcoming and shared many great recommendations to make our visit to Florence memorable. We highly recommend Dante estates and would definitely return.

Convenient to walk in the city centre but a bit far from train station (25' walk) Washer in the apartment so it was just good to do a laundry in the middle of our two week travel in Italy

Noisy at night with people downstairs

Nice apartment. Great location. Host was very helpful and friendly- recommended places to see and eat. Overall, great stay.

Not much but maybe price. But everything does seem expensive when you are a not working student.

Vincent was a great Host. When checking us into the apartment he spent quite a bit of time helping us settle in and told us about great local eateries and attractions. The apartment was clean and spacious, it was great to relax there and rest from the crazy crowds of Florence. Also the little coffee shop just outside the apartment had great coffee and amazing pastries.

The location was great for sightseeing. The room was beautiful. The staff was very helpful in preparing us for our stay and proving suggestions for restaurants and activities.

Be aware there are lots of stairs to get up to the rooms.
