Weekend nights had some late night street party folks echoing in the alley under the windows. Would be nice to have a few English speaking TV channels.
Location. The space is nice and comfortable, bed was fine. Enjoyed the old painted high ceiling and curtains on the bed. We used the clothes washer too. Vincent gave us a great welcome, instructions and tips for activities and food.
met by the owner who spent plenty of time recommending restaurants and things to do. he was delightful. Apartment was quiet, central with everything we need for our 3 night stay. Florence is simply sublime and we will be returning.
Vincent was unbelievably friendly and helpful, great location, and best value for money.
Wifi works very well but the only thing is that it only works in the hallway at the apartment entrance (and not in the rest of the apartment) Can be inconvenient (but nevertheless manageable..)
Location. Spacious with excellent facilities. Great host-thank you very much! Very friendly , informative and helpful. Helped us to order a taxi for a very early flight and the taxi arrived exactly on time. Highly recommend the apartment!
Access via stairs is a challenge with luggage. Owner never around and couldn't help with advice on operating equipment. Tv, internet and clothes dryer a mystery. Towels were paper thin and not replenished. Cups etc dirty broken and stained.
Good location to the tourist sites and shopping
To noisy at night,no A/C.
There is no shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom.
The apartments are situated in a great location, a few meters away from Galleria degli Uffizi and Piazza della Signoria. Before the arrival, the communication with Vincent, the owner I suppose, was very good. When we arrived at the apartment we were welcomed by Vincent's daughter who welcomed us in an extremely friendly way. She informed us about things to visit in Florence and good restaurants. The WiFi was ok. On the same street there is the famous "All'antico vinaio" where you can find the best Schiacciata Fiorentina of the city.
Can be noisy at night due to its central location.
Great central location. Close to everything. Furnished appropriately. Close to food and wine shops. Vincent the owner was really helpful. Highly recommend.
The street was very noisy.
The apartment was very clean! The location is excellent.
27 stairs up!
The location just couldn't be beat. Near many good, inexpensive restaurants. Staff was most friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Dante States Apartments!
It was hard to get wi-fi reception.
The location was perfect, within walking distance of Florence's attractions.Vincent met us and explained how everything worked in the apartment. He also provided us with a map and highlighted restaurants and sight seeing locations. The space was incredible.2 bathrooms. The wi-fi was not so good. Would highly recommend and would stay there again.
Via del Neri is a noisy street but luckily our bedroom was not on the street. Bring along some earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Location is excellent within easy walking distance to all major sites. We were upgraded from studio to 1 bedroom apartment - Giotto. Our host Vincent was helpful enjoy to give us a map with restaurants and places of interest. There is a famous sandwich shop downstairs and the coffee shop downstairs makes delishious cappuccino's. If I come to Florence again I will definitely stay at Dante States.
Apartment was very clean and well set up. All facilities were easy to use and transport was close by
The unit block has several locked doors to access the apartment. We had a huge issue with one of the doors that would not open one evening. Several locals tried to open the door. We were unable to. Contacted the staff but received no reply until the next day. Luckily the neighbour offered a couch for us to stay on. The staff were not understanding about the situation, were far from apologetic and offered no financial contribution towards the fact that their lock and of key was not functioning for a whole night.
The apartment is clean, spacious and has all the utensils you need. It's in a good location close to most of the monuments of Florence.
Location - right in central Florence, just walk out the door on to well known sandwich shops and within walking distance of all the central Florence attractions/restaurants
Very good for everything Patrick mad a warm welcome
Although Patrick supplied us with fans, its not enough this apartment gets hot and only has one window with no cross breeze to cool it down. I have been advised they are putting in AC soon. It needs it.
perfect location close to everything you need to see. Very big apartment by Italian standards. Host Patrick was brilliant he spent time with us when we arrived, i text him on his phone a few times to ask him questions and he was always quick to respond and extremely helpful. Washing machine was great, halfway through our trip.
Very noisy if sleeping on the sofa High staircase for people with health issues or young children Tricky to get there with a car and without Vincent's help
Very nice and very helpful staff (Vincent) Location at walking distance from all major tourist attractions Very comfortable apartment, beautifully decorated, with well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms washing machine looks is a plus, although without a dryer, it may be difficult to use quiet if sleeping in the bedroom
Would be great if it were air conditioned. We were hot! It also would help mask the noise, which was a real problem from the street (very popular sandwich shop below window, open all hours) and the stairwell.
Loved the central location and the feel of the apartment.
Expect a boisterous pleasant neighborhood well into the night (and super sandwich shops just below your apartment). Unless you're used to drunken but probably harmless youth singing and shouting at 2AM below your window, bring earplugs, bring earplugs, bring earplugs!
Manager Vincent Raffetto was a really fine, helpful guy. Expect that this will not be a hotel experience, but a casual rental of a clean but basic apartment without air conditioning and without concierge services (beyond Vincent's abundant information), and you should be very happy. Vincent usually meets clientele at the cafe just below the apartments, so take that for the front desk, tell him when you're coming, be accurate (for his sake) and get his cell number, for both your sakes. If it isn't otherwise obvious: all apartments are above street level, behind a locked common entry door -- it's a safe place, and a whole block away from the best there is in Florence, in sight of the Loggia and Palazzo Vecchio. I've written all this because I appreciated their effort to make this a good place to be, especially for a week-long stay for the hard-core user of museums, research libraries, etc. Three blocks down out the left of the front door is a small supermarket that does the job very well.
The wifi network was not available in the bedroom, only in the living room. Also, the entryway to the apartments isn't labelled as Dante States Apartments, it just looks like a wooden apartment door. If you're confused, ask the owner of the coffee shop on the corner (two doors to the right); she's friendly and knows the owner of the Dante States Apartments.
The proprietor was very helpful and friendly: he spoke excellent English, gave me an annotated map with recommendations of places to eat and visit during my stay, and was responsive by phone and email in the hectic few minutes when I was just arriving and couldn't find the place.
The location is incredibly noisy. The kebab place across the way has yelling, banging, arguing, partying going on until the wee hours nightly. Literally, until 4 to 6 a.m. It was not possible to sleep with the windows closed in the summer.
Vincent was great and the location was convenient to places we wanted to explore. The café next door had wonderful cappuccino and the sandwich Shoppe two doors down had a constant queue.
It was a very easy place to stay right on the doorstep of the centre of Florence. At night it felt like returning home.
We stayed for 9 days at the end of May - early June and it was just perfect. The building and our apartment called Giotto are very authentic and cozy, yet equipped with modern kitchen, appliances and facilities. The location was amazing and we really enjoyed all the social activity right outside our window and door. Vince was extremely welcoming and shared many great recommendations to make our visit to Florence memorable. We highly recommend Dante estates and would definitely return.
Noisy at night with people downstairs
Convenient to walk in the city centre but a bit far from train station (25' walk) Washer in the apartment so it was just good to do a laundry in the middle of our two week travel in Italy
