Hotel Caravaggio is in Florence’s Piazza Indipendenza, a 10 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Station. Its attentive 24-hour staff provide a tour desk and serve drinks in the peaceful garden.

Set on a side street just behind the cathedral, Hotel De Lanzi is near the shops and main monuments of the historic center of Florence. The simply furnished rooms have private bathrooms.

Great location next to Santa Croce. Host family was very pleasant and helpful. Value priced. Clean.
Room was very small, with extremely tight shower. If your focus is on price, then this could be a good choice for a couple.
The location is very good, easy access to the centre and all historical sites.
1, I would say only 2 stars. Breakfast was poor and very limited buffet breakfast, didn't even get coffee in the morning. 2, When get the receipt for the stay, we didn't pay too much attention to that, the guy gave me a receipt only for the city tax without asking if it was okay to not include the full amount. We all know why is that.
I think the location of the hotel is its greatest strength. It is not in the middle of old town but it is in a nice neighbourhood full with good restaurants and bars. Walking back to the hotel you discover many gems. Also the owners don't speak English much but they were very nice and helpful people. Wifi was working.
The hotel is a bit worn down. It needs refurbishment. The breakfast was ok. Also if you are going back to the hotel late at night, don't forget the door key. We needed to wake the owners because we didn't think it would be closed after 11 pm.
Dante was is a great location. Walking distance to all the great attractions yet off the beaten path. Breakfast was delicious and host had a wonderful recommendation for dinner. Our room was large with a cute little kitchen in it. Bed had some very flat pillows but I am sure if we would have asked for more, they would have promptly brought us some. Adorable courtyard in which to enjoy the lovely evening.
somewhat of a language barrier but we struggled through.
The hotel is very clean and the location is ideal for exploring the city, being on a quiet side street just off a busy square. The hotel is run by a friendly family with very limited English which made explaining that we were too cold in our room a challenge. We managed and were immediately rewarded with a very effective heater for our room. The buffet breakfast was varied and tasty.
The furniture in the rooms is old and in need of updating.
Room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Cleaned to a high standard. Breakfast was fine. Staff friendly.
Our room view was a white wall.
This hotel is on a quite, practically closed for traffic street, right in the midst of all attractions and restaurants. It is a 2-3 star hotel, with smallish, well used rooms. The hotel is kept clean but there is no way to hide tear and wear. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Wifi is unsecured and is capable of streaming Netflix (via US proxy), but we've had to ask the front desk to reset a router at least once a day in order for it to work.
-Rooms are on a smaller side. -Needs to be re-freshened. -Needs better explanation at the time of booking as to how get to it without breaking every Italian motor vehicle law. The hotel is in the "limited traffic" zone area, so there is no way to get to it without breaking a law a couple of times. I was assured by the hotel staff that it would be taking care off, but that remains to be seen (yes, they do send tickets to the USA).
A/C not working. Opened window to cool down. Mosquitoes bugged and bite me throughout the night.
Excellent location Very helpful staff
Very basic room for its price
Extremely small room, uncomfortable mattresses, limited supplies in washroom, wifi service is slow and infrequent, poor air conditioning
The location is very good with easy access to shops, historic sites, etc.
This shouldn't be rated as a 3-star as the facilities are very old and in need of a complete renovation. Bedsheets, curtains , toilet seats, etc need to be replaced. The air conditioner was so noisy, pillows & mattress were hard, breakfast options are limited. It was quite disappointing to say the least.
Friendly stuff! Good breakfast!
Location, friendly staff, great breakfast.
The location was excellent, the staff were very happy to help out with information. He breakfast was perfect. We would stay here if returning to Florence.
Very good location, Santa Croce church is at the end of the street. Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi are in 5 minutes walking distance. Quiet street. Nice, helpful staff. Free wifi, internet speed was good. Breakfast was OK. The coffee was great. The room size was perfect, spacious room. Room was clean and tidy.
Everything was OK! One minor note: There were no dish towels and dish soap for washing dishes in the kitchen.
The location of the hotel was excellent: close to everything but not so in the middle of the noise. Easy walk to most of the sights in Florence and all the shopping. We could walk to everywhere, including the train station from the hotel (if you have heavy luggage, it would be best to get a taxi which only cost about 10 - 12 euros). The staff (couple) who manage the hotel are very nice, friendly and helpful. They gave very good suggestions about sights and how to get there etc, and always accommodated our requests. The house keeping was excellent and very thoughtful. Breakfast was basic but enough. Very good coffee. Internet was great. Never had any issue with the internet. The lift was from the ground floor which was very convenient. I will definitely stay again if I am in Florence again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Florence!
Nothing. They are doing such a fantastic job!
The staff are very rude and not helpful at all. The room was small and cramped for three people. There were no facilities to make a cup of tea or coffee, so we used to go downstairs and ask for hot water and some milk, we had our own tea bags. To my surprise on check out they charged us 26 euro for 5 pots of hot water and milk, it would have to be the most expensive pots of tea I have ever had. The wife of the manager is very rude, when I asked her for some more milk she blantly turned around and said 'but you left some over yesterday., why was it her business after all we did pay an exorbitant price for the privilege. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was over priced. The lift is very small and only takes 2 people max. If you have luggage you have to wait for each person to use it. The shower was so small you had to leave the screen open, otherwise you couldn't turn around. I don't know how someone large could even have a shower in it.
Excellent location, within walking distance to attractions. Staff very helpful, arranged car parking for us at minimal cost.
Quiet location just next to Santa Croce church. Comfortable beds and good breakfast.
Kitchenette area was very small but at least we had one.
Easy walking distance to main attractions. Very friendly staff. Great hotel for a few nights stay
Not a huge amount of breakfast options. We were on the ground floor so it got a bit loud in the evenings, not much natural light & wifi signal was weak
This was a spacious, comfortable apartment on a quiet side street. We loved this part of town because it was not so noisy yet still very close to the Uffizi (5 minute walk), the Pitti Palace (10 minute walk) the Duomo (about 7 min walk) and other attractions, including ample shopping opportunities. Our hosts were SO accommodating and helpful when we asked for advice and help. Breakfast was good- nothing too fancy, but adequate, with several selections. We had a small kitchen and found a wonderful super market nearby where we bought breads, cheeses, fruits and meats for our lunches and occasional suppers. This saved us a lot on meal expenses, which are very high in Florence. We loved our stay at this hotel and would definitely return.
The rooms are in need of an update. Decor was outdated and paint was not professional, adding to the dated look. Though we had a very small kitchen, there were no dish towels or dish soap for washing dishes and cleaning up.
The hotel location is ideally situated nearby many historic sites, museums, restaurants, and shops. The hotel is actually located on a quiet side street and a very short walk to multiple attractions. The staff are motivated to provide information and are friendly. The room was large with a nice kitchen and table.
The bathroom was a little small.
Great hospitality and perfect location.
- Great location, 5 min from Ulfizi and Palace Vecchio - Excellent staff - Elton was awesome, so was Christian, very friendly, helpful - Clean rooms (s) - Good breakfast, great cappuccinos ..
- Master bed somewhat hard - Bathroom and shower small
