Situated in the historical centre of Montalcino, this 18th- century building is set in the marvelous Tuscan countryside, between the valleys of Arbia and Orcia. The rooms to the rear enjoy breathtaking views of the Orcia and Arbia valleys and look out onto a large garden with a swimming pool, built in a style consistent with its Medieval surroundings. The remaining rooms, some of which are split-level, also retain the flavour of their ancient Tuscan setting. Spend your days relaxing on the sun terrace, with large sun chairs and tables overlooking the magnificent Tuscan valley panorama, before taking a cooling dip in the pool, which sits in the extensive garden. The hotel is well situated in the village of Montalcino. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is nice and the view in the morning facing the rising sun is stunning. The sound travels easily through the thin walls between the rooms. The rooms are quite small but clean.

It has a nice view The rooms are absolutely without sound proofing so we did not sleep well. A party of Brazilians seemed to be tap-dancing our ceiling - not a good experience

location, private parking (though hardly an easy manoeuvering place for a low-suspension car), friendly staff (admittedly, a bit bored with an uninterrupted stream of Brunello-thirsty, foreign guests, but helped us to recover our things from the safebox after we checked out), swimming pool (though it was too cold to use it - hardly anybody's fault - after all, it was the beginning of October). Nice views of the valley from our room window and the pool terrace. price - far too expensive for the standard of services provided, breakfast - very dissapointing and in an unfriendly or even hostile atmosphere - we felt like intruders though it was only 9.30.

The view from our room & balcony was spectacular! It was exactly what w were hoping for! The room was nicely decorated, clean, and had everything we needed. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful in finding us a place to park the car, a wonderful restaurant, assistance with our luggage, and directions to get us out of the hilltop town. The breakfast was served in a very sunny, pleasant room and was equal to the other breakfast buffets we had experienced in Italy. If ever again in this area, we would stay here again! Driving through the VERY narrow streets to get to the hotel!....but once at the hotel, all was well!

All the facilities are great! The sighseeing is wonderfull! It looks like a fairytail! Nobody told us about payment for pool towels. It was a little bit problem to pay by cash. The hotel prefers credit cards.

Greatly located. The staff is very friendly and kind. Ask for Daniela, she is the best, very helpful and knowledgeable of the Montalcino region. The view from the swimming-pool is priceless and the hotel is very peaceful. The breakfast is great and the rooms are confortable, with a great air condition and very clean. Their fees are fair for the the service that they provide. I will go back there for sure

Spectacular views. Especially at sunrise. Close to center of town. Lovely breakfasts. Excellent swimming pool. Parking available & included in room rate. Difficult to access parking. Need to climb a steep street to reach the center of town; would be impossible for anyone with limited mobility.

Clean and comfortable, good breakfasts by Italian small hotel standards. Although this is really a bed and breakfast hotel, it is stylish and has very nice relaxing areas with superb views over the mountains. It is also very handy for the town centre on Montalcino I am partly disabled and the car park is some way from the hotel, and requires a lot of up and down steps, which was difficult

Montalcino is the perfect little mountain town in Italy and this hotel was wonderful. Our room overlooked the valley below where there was a vista of vineyards and olive groves. The staff was very helpful in suggesting restaurants and making reservations for us. It has a lovely little pool which would be nice in the warmer weather. The room was clean and well equipped and the view from the window was fabulous. Request a room that overlooks the valley. The breakfast was a nice buffet with lots of fruit and home-baked pastries. I would highly recommend this hotel and the town of Montalcino.
