Overall, I did not like the Del Dragomanni. The postive things were: (1) Sandro at the front desk was really helpful and nice to me. (2) The towels were good. (3) The room had a fairly powerful blowdryer. (4) the hotel is very conveniently located between L'Accademia and Giglio water taxi stops on Line 1. When you come in on the train at St Lucia, no one will help you, so I suggest you learn the taxi routes beforehand. If you take a gondola (a private taxi), you will pay at least 100 e to get to the hotel. For 6.5 e, you can take the pubic water taxi, line 1 towards San Marco Square and get off at the Giglio stop. Although you will be very close when you get off the boat, you will still need a good map to the find the hotel. First, Marco at the front desk is not helpful and has an unpleasant attitude. Also, my single room was tiny like a box. The pictures are not representative of what you will get. The shower was tiny and I had to stand sideways to raise my arms to wash my hair. Another problem was that the door of the safe would not open and there was no clock in the room. Also, there was only one english speaking channel on the tv (fox news) and the tv would not turn off by the remote, so I had to get up to turn it off. Also, wifi was not free - 5e per hour. Each thing by itself was minor, but altogether, it made me dislike stay very unpleasant.

The location was wonderful - very close to St. Mark's and nearby to Rialto Bridge as well. The staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations & organizing water taxis, etc (especially Sandro). Our room was really charming and had a rustic Italian feel. The ceiling had wooden beams, there was a lovely canopy bed, a big marble bathtub, and it was really warm (which was great because we went in February and it was below freezing). It was perfect for a romantic holiday. I loved this hotel, but don't expect the rooms to be big or for there to be certain things typical of other 4 star hotels (i.e. bathrobes, fitness/leisure center, room service, etc). There were some small things that could have been updated in our room but the space and everything mentioned above are pretty typical for Italian hotels. Overall though, we thought it was a comfortable, great hotel.

Wonderful stay; staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent room and bathroom with nice view. Really good breakfast as well! We would stay there again, any time! Our particular room was a little warm, but fine once window was left open.

The hotel is a quick walk to St Marks and other restaurants and squares so the location is great. The rooms were a good size for Venice and the decor was very traditional Venice. It was very good. I thought the woman on reception was a bit of a grump and couldn't help feeling just a little ripped off about the room price, but everything in Venice is expensive!!!

The hotel was in a fantastic location and close to everything including easy access to the water taxi's. The staff where fantastic and organised a private water taxi (free) to the murano glass factory. The only disappointment was the buffet breakfast which consisted of bagels, cereal and fresh fruit. No hot food what-so-ever, compared to what we'd experienced elsewhere in Europe this was quite a let down.

the fact is, I was looking for a good hotel in Venice to spent one night after a cruise trip. the hotels in the area were fully booked and the hotel initially booked with Booking.com was cancelled for unclear reasons. then, I searched another hotel quickly before running out the rooms in Venice. this is the story of how I got this hotel. when we checked in, the lobby didn't give you a good image that the room would be so great and spacy. I liked that hotel. it has an access to the main canal where a water taxi can transfer you anywhere. it has another access to have a private Gondola reserved from the hotel for 160 Euros (1 hour) before 7 PM. The breakfast was poor. it is a little bit far away from Piazza San Marco. nut since Venice transportation mainly on foot. it worth walking that distance and enjoying the scenes.

We had a very spacious suite for my husband and I and our 2 teenage kids. It was the upper attic level with very deluxe bed and bedding, and had views and a sitting room and marble bathroom w excellent tub! We loved the intimate street it was on and it had old world Venitian character. The location is fabulous, a short walk from the public ferry or water taxi stop and down from a piazza that had a antique fair in it the weekend we were there. A lovely stroll over 3 bridges to San Marco square. The breakfast was lovely with delicious espresso! Make sure and have Internet included in your stay which booking.com does as a general rule. It's 5Euro/half hr and a big hassle if you do not have it included in your reservation. We arrived late when many restaurants were closing and the receptionist called a restaurant and asked if they would keep their kitchen open until we got there. It was one of the most delicious dinners and so nice of him to go above and beyond what most hotels would do. We were so impressed with their excellent service.

Hotel was not up to our expectation as the room is very tired looking and windows was facing the narrow alley overlooking walls of other buildings. No air condition was available during our stay and the room is warm during the night if window is not open. Opening window is not a good option due to lack of privacy as the next door neighbour is very close by. Some of the lightings was not working and safety box also not working. Room does not have a proper covered wardrobe to hang clothes. Room decoration is very old and makes you feel eerie. Wash basin is very small and water just spill out all over your body as you washes your hand.

not far from San Marco, cozy room (№26), with grand channel view, but there only 2 rooms like this... receptionist asked us to pay city tax in the period when city taxes are not being taken, they always are trying to cheat on you, keep it in mind

This is a beautiful hotel, nicely decorated, very well maintained and clean, plus very helpful staff. Love room 8. a very nice 5-minute walk from the hotel to San Marco's square is full of diverse stores. Breakfast was excellent with impeccable service. We would happily come back to this hotel. We found room 12 a little small and colder than the other room we had. Just a minor detail compared with all the good things of this superb hotel.

The position, not too far from St. Mark's Square, sights and shops was very good, but it is not a typical Venetian Hotel which I would have preferred and in one of which friends of mind stayed, very close to the Accademia which is still quite central. And I could have stayed there for €20 less. Dragomanni is convenient for business people who only stay one or utmost two nights there.

Our stay at your hotel was arranged by our daughter and our son as a splendid present and the greatest surprise for our 36th wedding anniversary. Hotel Dei Dragomanni deserves its four stars! It was a very pleasant experience for both of us. Even the sunny weather was as in a dream. In mid november we had lunch in a nice restaurant in Zattere, sitting outside in the plain sunshine! Unforgettable! Nataša and Mathias

Dei Dragomanni's location was superb as it was quiet, near the river yet near to the square. It was easy to get access to restaurants if you wanted to grab a bite. Considering we were a group of 18 people, it was important for us to have the easy access that Dei Dragomanni had to offer. We stayed in a room that had a spectacular view of the river and the sunlight came in through the skylight which illuminated the entire room during the day. Although just like any room in venice, it could use more space. But standardly, the space was well planned in Dei. I would recommend this hotel. Improvement in breakfast selection

Location, bell person and the breakfast The picture of the room I booked was nothing like the room I got. The pictured was a beautiful room with a double bed and a canel view. What I got was a monk's cell with a small twin bed, pushed against the wall, with a view that looked at a wall. When I spoke with the staff, frankly, they could care less. Later, I asked for help getting my bags to the water taxis, that was a no...there was a series of no's, so I just stopped asking. The staff was beyond rude and unhelpful. They were only interested in charging me the second I arrived. If I wasn't prebooked to stay there I would have moved to the Anastasta, where my friends were staying. They got exactly what they paid for, a beautiful full size room with a beautiful view of the canel and extremely helpful staff. For the same amount of money. I would not recommend the Hotel Dei Dragomanni to anyone.

Great central location made access to all Venice sites convenient and easy by foot of vaparetto. Comfortable bed and good sized room. Great breakfast buffet and very helpful hotel staff. Would definitely recommend. View of Grand Canal not really a view at all, just a peek-a-boo from one corner of one bedroom window.
