Very good location, very helpful & courteous personnel, rooms are big and clean, whatever we needed was provided immediately. Highly recommended for a trip in town as you can reach everything within a 5 minutes walk.

Great staff (Ariana, Francesca, another gentlement at the front dest and all breakfast staff). They went out of their way to help with everything we asked them. They were polite and extremely friendly. They made you feel important ...not just another guest/number. They thoroughly went through Florence map with us and recommended places that we would not have known to check out (i.e The Jewellery Bridge...went there and bought a necklace). Staff dedication and local knowledge were amasing. Ariana even knew the best way to get to Pisa tower and how much it costs and how long it takes to get there. One night after a long day walk my son wanted a hot chocolate drink......Arianna went out of her way to make one for him for free. It would not cost much but what a great gesture Arianna, much appreciated. We felt looked after. Overall, it was just a great and pleasant experience staying here and will definely be staying here again next time we are in Florence and will not hesitate recommending this hotel to family and friends. Last but not least, breakfast was very good with their selection (compare to most European hotels we have stayed at in Paris, Nice and Rome). It feels like a 4 Stars Plus hotel instead of 3 (by European standard). Well done and thank you to all the staff at Macchiaioli. Excellent location, friendly and accomodating staff, wonderful building. Wide choice of savoury and sweet food for breakfast. Clean and beautifully decorated rooms. No lift, but all you have to do is ask for help and the staff will meet you at the bottom of the stairs to help you carry your luggage. Family room facing main street may be a little noisy at night: have ear plugs ready and you'll be fine. If you don't know where to dine or need any help, ask Paolo. He's friendly and multilingual. Highly recommended hotel.

The staff was amazing and welcoming..., the location was great

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The gentleman who was working the desk when we checked in was amazingly helpful. He recommended a restaurant to us that was fantastic as well as a wonderful tour route for our limited time in the city. The location was perfect for getting everywhere by foot. The breathtaking Duomo was blocks away. Just loved this hotel!

Everything was great, we had no problems.

We liked almost everything about this hotel: it's close to everything, the room was clean, the bathroom was new, the staff were perfect.

Good quality and free wifi internet. Good breakfast. Surprisingly pleasant staff (not just one but all as we interacted with about 5 of them). Good location.

Nothing. Well, no lift and second floor but that was taken care of. They had a webcam looking at the door and somebody was down to get our bags even before we had taken one step up the stairs. Same service on checkout. So the only small negative was very elegantly handled by the staff.

Staff was very friendly. Breakfast is continental but fresh orange was great. Room are adequate size, cosy and clean. The hotel is located in the very center of Florence so you can see Baptestery wall right from the hotel entry. And it's quiet at the same time as all windows look in the inner garden. Highly recommended for all who's sightseeing Florence / Tuscany (central railway station and bus stop - only 5-7 min walking from the hotel)

Room was of generous size, very clean and neat. The hotel staff were also friendly and responsive, when we asked them to separate the beds to two twin singles, the staff came in and did it immediately.

The ratio courteous, clean room, shower excellent heated cold days. Free Internet

The hotel is on a high floor and no lift up the luggage

We enjoyed very much this hotel. The hotel is very well located, 10 minutes away of the train station and 5m away of Duomo. The staff was really kind and wanted to help, they recommended us restaurants they would personally go, really italian and we love the recommendation of Paolo, with the Fish Restaurant called Lobs. The place for the breakfast is really posh and beautiful!the quality and quantity of the food in the breakfast was really good!we didn't missed nothing at all. We will definetely come back to firenze and to this hotel. Grazie mile!

The floor of the room was a little bit cold and it was a little bit noisy in the morning because there were scafolding near the hotel but firenze is such a pretty city that is a crime stay too long in the room in the morning so for us was really not a problem!

Very good location just near Duomo. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice, spotless rooms.

Breakfast was ok, but we would have liked to have fresh coffee. Now it came from machine. Although you can easily find nice cafeterias nearby.

Quite expensive in comparison to similar hotels in other cities, but it seems to be the same with other hotels in Florence.

Great room and service. Receptionist heard us walking up the steps and raced down to carry one of our bags. Central location and a great bathroom.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. They helped get us any useful reservations and made us feel at home in the hotel.

The beds were too firm and the rooms were very basic and dated. Although the bathrooms were somewhat modern, they were very narrow with a very small shower. This is consistent with my experience in past visits to Florence hotels.

Friendly helpful staff, great location, clean and reasonable price.

The booking was in my name and it was me that did all the research and finally chose this hotel and yet we were given the small room and the other couple who came with us and had no input into the choice of this hotel got the larger, luxurious room. What's with that? Surely the person who choose your establishment and committed to the booking should be rewarded in some way for this, shouldn't they? Poor form.

A fabulous hotel in the heart of Florence. The staff was so friendly and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Great little breakfast in the morning to start the day off right. Fabulous stay and would stay again!

This is not a dislike but just a note for older people may be the stairs leading up to the hotel. There is no elevator but once you are in the hotel everything is on one floor.

Close enough to the centre while being quiet enough during the night.

Just returned from a very enjoyable stay here - would definitely recommend as next to Accademia Museum and Duemo
