Great location in an upscale area of Rome, minutes away from the Vatican and a 15 minute walk across the bridges to the little squares in the historical centre. Very good value for money - we got a deal (prepaid) on the website. The staff were very polite and helpful. You have to pay for the Internet which I found a bit ott given what they normally charge for a room.. Don't go to either of the restaurants the guys at the reception would recommend - both are a rip-off and food was not that tasty. There's a very cool wine bar/restaurant just one street down (Via Properzio) called Il Sorpasso. They serve great alternative Italian food, not the usual tourist crap. It's filled with office workers around lunch time.

Every hotel staff member we came in contact with treated us very respectfully. The concierge both morning and afternoon were very polite and very helpful. The staff on the terrace were very nice, The gentleman on the terrace in the evening was especially nice. We felt like we were part of his family. The menu is somewhat limited but always of high quality. The rooms were small by United States standards but average in size for European standards. Most staff spoke English very well, along with several other languages. When I return to Rome, Hotel dei Consoli will be number one on my list of hotels.

Excellent choice ! Very nice place, close to the Vatican, not far from the city center, metro, restaurants, in a quiet street. Rooms are not large but presumably you dont go to Roma to stay in your room... Just make sure that they dont rent the terrace on the 4th floor to a private party if your room is on the 3rd !!

It is close to the Vatican City. Rude staff, tiny rooms, cold breakfast area, cold eggs at breakfast, not enough choice & food at breakfast.

Friendly staff, great location, quaint boutique vibe, delicious breakfast, cute rooms. Only drawback was not being able to get wifi to work in our room but we did not have to pay for this in the end. Great value for money

If you are looking to stay near the Vatican city it is a great location... walking distance. We stayed on the other side of the river at the beginning of our trip and much preferred that side ... Vatican side is very quiet and we did not find as many little quaint cafes and was dirty side of city Terrace for breakfast and late night drinks was very nice Bathrooms were sooooo small but clean

Location was perfect, and the roof terrace is very pleasant The breakfast one of the worst I've ever had. Cold ham&eggs, dry bread (only white, nothing healthy/whole grain), no fruits and vegetables. Very basic, not for a 4-star hotel.

Room was clean, hotel generally in good condition. Certain of the staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help. Excellent location for exploring Rome. Some of the staff were slightly rude - I am not doing them a favour by staying there contrary to the apparent belief of certain individuals. Breakfast was terrible. It was free admittedly but consisted of cheap cold meat, stale bread and horrible coffee. I would definitely recommend going elsewhere in the morning!

Good location The pillows and sheets smelled like sweat! Even when they changed the covers. The tv is old fashioned and tiny with limited channels.

Great room, great location, We really enjoyed the excellent breakfast buffet. We also enjoyed the WIFI (which they gave us for free, even though they normally charge for it). Our stay here was fantastic. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, and given another visit to Rome we'll stay here again.

The location was excellent, close to the Vatican and St. Peter's Square, which was the main reason we chose it. It was winter, yes, but the heating was on too high. We had to open the window to cool down. For some reason the staff said the air conditioning could only heat the room in winter and only cool it down in summer. That would have been ok but the cleaning staff insisted on every day turning the heating back on to max and closing the window.

Some of the staff where great and eager to please/help. I stayed on the 3rd floor below the resturant and there was a childrens party and for 6 hours in the evening I had to try and ignore excessive banging and thumping which was only to last for 4 hours according to the staff. It was very dissapointing for the calibre of this Motel. The old world charm and the gorgeous room that I stayed in.

I had a lovely and quiet stay at Hotel dei Consoli close to St Peters and the Ottaviano metro station. The staff was helpful and polite, room was nicely decorated and with a good bed, the bathroom perfect, everything clean. I had a double room for single use - with two persons it may have been a little small. Breakfast was satisfactory with scrambled eggs, ce-rials, yogurt, salami, cheese; but we are in Italy: only white bread and cakes. On the departing day the friendly receptionist offered to take care of my luggage, and it gave some extra "tourist hours" until the airport taxi came.
