The restaurant was closed!!! No reason given. This might not be a problem in other cases, but the location... there is nowhere nice to walk to; we ended up at a grocery store and bought some junk food for dinner. The hotel is off a very busy suburban street which is really not an interesting location. One must drive into town for a decent restaurant; the one we wanted was also closed, though its official schedule says it's open... We assumed that this was all due to it being September, but there were lots of people wandering the lovely streets of Matera...???
Really nice hotel, well-finished, well furnished, very helpful and nice staff, not far from town centre, great looking rooms, wonderful bathroom, shower, very nice private patio, quiet.
