This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life and I am saying this not taking into consideration that I almost filed charges against the hotel's so called manager Marco Zaza. There is no way this is a 4 star hotel. At best it is a 2 star hotel. I chose it because of price and proximity to train station since I would be arriving late at night. They gave me a room next to the elevator. Actually the elevator was more like in the room. I went downstairs to ask for another room leaving my bags in the room. When I went back upstairs the traditional key (not card) would not open the door or come out. The key got stuck in the door. I went downstairs to get the receptionist, Claudio. He came and tried to open the door for almost 45 minutes. Eventually he broke the key in the door. He gave me another room and I had to sleep only in my boxers during a cold winter night. It was almost 3:30 am by the time I went to bed. I was supposed to check out early next morning to go skiing but they told me that they could not open the door and get my bags before 10 am. I told them that they should either break the door immediately or let me stay another night at a discount because I was forced to stay an extra night in Milan. They gave me a %40 discount on the room (€30 rate) and promised I would not get a room next to the elevator so I left the hotel around 8 am. I came back to the hotel around 10:30pm the same night. When I asked for the key I noticed they gave me the same room as the night before. I told the receptionist the manager in the morning had promised me I would get another room due to the problems I had experienced the night before. The guy at the reception, Marco Zaza, said that he would not give me another room because "I had cost him €100". I was furious. Claudio had told him I had broken the key although he broke it himself. Even if I had broken the key, Marco had no right to talk to me in that manner. It is a hotel and I am guest for Gods sake. He could not just blame me for something he did not witness. We exchanged ugly words. First time in my life a hotel manager cursed at me when he was supposed to apologize actually. Then he said the room is €100 instead of €30. He said I would either pay €100 or leave or he would call the police. I told him this was an unethical way of doing business besides being extremely rude. Marco said I had no proof of the €30 rate since it was only told to me verbally in the morning by his colleague. This is how low he could sink. I told him to call the police. Of course he called someone else most likely the owner of the hotel and told me I could stay at the rate of the night before, €48. I was so tired from the night before I did not want to go to another hotel. I should have. People like this should not be in business. No one should stay here eventhough it is cheap.

I stayed twice at the Hotel Del Corso during my time in Milan. The location is excellent, especially for shopping and sightseeing, but the staff at Hotel del Corso make the difference. Claudio, Michaela, Marco and Romel on reception are all really helpful and kind. I felt very welcome and always looked after. Loreto metro is closeby - taking you to Duomo or Centrale in a matter of minutes. Corso Buenos Aires is full of great shops and is probably the best value/range of shopping in Milan. I went to the Fidenze Village on a day tour for outlet shopping and really I should have saved my money to shop more on CBA! It was much better. Many restaurants and cafes are also closeby and all the essentials can be found at the corner farmacia and supermarket 'Pam'. The breakfast at HDC is varied and very good quality. A variety of cereals, yoghurts, pastries, fruit, cheese, meats and quiches, juices, herbal teas and coffee set you up nicely for the day. Rooms are clean and comfortable. European water pressure can be difficult for Australian travellers, so I can happily say you will get a good shower here! All in all, a very nice stay. I would definitely stay again.

Very good value for the money, clean rooms, good location and very friendly stuff. For the price, it was absolutely perfect! Of course the rooms could be bigger and nicer, but I don't see how that's going to work considering the hotels price point.

I found a very nice price offer and the breakfast was very good. Also the hotel staff were very friendly There came a bit smell of cigarette in my room through the door, possibly vie the stairway from the lobby bar. Sounds could also be heard a bit too clearly from the corridor.

The female receptionist ( didnt get her name ) was extremely nice and helpful. She helped us with everything we needed. The room was comfortable and spacious. Location was good, 2-3 mins walk from loreto metro. Breakfast could have been better considering it's a 4 star hotel. The elevator is a little too small too.
