The room was large, comfortable and with elegant furnishing, including some very nice prints on the walls. The bathroom was newly fitted and included a jacuzzi. The breakfast was excellent - including a well cooked delicious omelette. It was very quiet and we slept well. The location was excellent - it was just a few minutes walk from the cathedral and some superb restaurants (you need to book in high season though.)

We arrived by taxi and were dropped in Piazza Repubblica. It was then difficult to find though very near there - better signposting to the hotel would be helpful. A more frequent bus service connecting to flights from Comiso airport would be good (though not the hotel's fault!) We got a taxi back.

Very friendly staff. Claudia at reception was very kind and helpful to show the way by car to the apartment to bring luggage because parking place is quite distant. driving in oldtown narrow streets may be very stressful so it would be nice if hotel offers luggage delivery from/to the car parking area. otherwise very nice hotel, renovated and clean rooms.

Ragusa Ibla was the most beautiful place we visited during our 10 days in Sicilly and Hotel Del'Orologio, its owners and staff had a very significant contribution to this feeling. Extremely well located in relation to the central part of the city; very-very clean room - we were pampered as we were offered the apartment, which was very clean and had a beautiful terrace. It all smelled of fresh paint! The breakfast was a treat - variety, consistency, fresh staff, home-made staff...exquisite! Great recommendations and directions (car parking, restaurants etc. etc.). Quiet, nice neighborhood. Thank you Claudia for picking us up and directing us through the narrow streets - next time we know the way! This is a highly recommendable concept for a hotel/accommodation which we actually like as it is fully responding to the realities of the location! We look forward to our next stay there!

Situated close to the centre of the beautiful Ragusa Ibla we loved our stay in Hotel Dell'Orologio. Our room was packed with character, a 13th century stable apparently, with curved roof and exposed stone. Amazing. The bathroom was modern and sleek and the shower was fabulously powerful. Our host had a hand drawn map prepared on arrival of the best places to eat and was most helpful in terms of transport and sites. The highlight...the breakfast. Oodles of fresh bread, massive chunks of parmesan and pecorino, fab pastries, the strongest Italian coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice from a crate of the fruit that looked like it had just fallen from the tree. No negatives!

One of the most beautiful Hotels we visited at Sicily. We had been very fortunate to get one beautiful room with a terrace and a stunning view over old Ragusa.

Excellent central location. Spacious well designed room. Excellent breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.

As a minor irritation, it was a little awkward to ventilate my room as this involved opening the door or a low window. If this was left open at night, then light came in as the exterior was brightly lit.

The location in Ragusa Ibla, a baroque gem in the most beautiful part of Sicily; the plain but tasteful decor; the large, comfortable, and cool room; the great breakfasts; fully functioning wifi; friendliness of staff and proprietor. This was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the baroque cities, the scenery, and the coast of SE Sicily. Ibla itself is absolutely wonderful, especially for architecture, gastronomy (including 2 x 2-Michelin-starred restaurants -- both superb), and culture (a classical musical festival throughout most of our stay gave the place an incredible atmosphere). L'Orologio is a splendid base from which to enjoy all this -- amazingly good value for such high quality. The room was spacious, cool, and traditionally decorated; the breakfasts were superb -- especially the daily frittata, but also the wonderful rage of local cheeses, salsiccia, and salami. The hotel is quiet and very well located, just below the Duomo. We can't wait to go back.

Nothing worth mentioning; minor confusion over check-out arrangements, but before that, all was perfect.

Our stay at Hotel Dell'Orologio was great, lovely apartments and very helpful staff - who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They helped us with the parking, our luggage and recommended some great places to eat. We shall return.

The breakfast was excellent. Even had a 10 min complimentary massage after breakfast. Room was lovely and spacious.

The location was quite hard to find so signage is a problem.

We had a great terrace with a fantastic view - some shade would have made it more useful though as it was too hot to use from 11 am to 6pm (would have suited a sun worshipper though). Very good breakfast - worth the 5 minute walk back to the reception from our flat.

Although everything you need is provided (fully equipped small kitchen, hairdryer etc) the flat we had was quite basic with no comfortable seating apart from the kitchen chairs. It did not matter for us as the weather was good and we did not need to spend any time inside.

Staff is very friendly and offers good suggestions for restaurants and places to go The breakfast was the best during our entire stay in Sicily(home made jam and bread, delicious salami and great coffee) The location right at the entry of Ragusa Ibla is perfect

Make sure to contact them via Email according to where to park your car as you can't drive to the hotel by car (there is a big parking lot close by)

    1. I asked for an apartment with terrace and views (based on other recommendations) and they delivered! Beautiful apartment with splendid views and comfortable. 2. Breakfast is excellent! 3. Service is good, everyone uniformly friendly, and in one case they went the extra mile by leading us up to our apartment by car (as we couldn't have found the way ourselves).

    1. the "meeting point" for parking and meeting to pick up the keys needs to be more specific, as they mentioned only the street, which is 2 kilometers long. Better to mention "in the parking lot next to the red hotel," for example. 2. they need to provide a good map of Ragusa Ibla...the one we received was too small to read/use and it is VERY difficult to find a decent map. 3. there is a kitchen with basic glasses, pots and pans etc, but no implements to cook with. They should outfit them a bit more completely so one could take advantage of the local cuisine and cook. 4. It would be useful to have a printed list of their top 5 recommended restaurants, where a supermarket is etc.

The fact that Inspector Montalbano was in part filmed nearby. One of the staff was very helpful in contacting a previous hotel to enquire about a missing passport. Nothing to like about the accommodation except the comical attempt by the owner seeking to convince me that a free main course dinner for two in his new restaurant opening in December 2014 might elicit a glowing reference on booking.com for the so called Hotel Dell'Orologio.

This is not a hotel, but a collection of B&B rooms mostly without windows with views at the top of long flights of steep stairs at the end of steeply winding lanes which can only be reached by noisy scooters or badly tune motor bikes. When we (in our late 60’s) complained about our room at the top of 58 stairs we were offered a ground floor room opposite a crumbling derelict building which we grudgingly accepted. This room was nothing more than a cold, damp and perpetually dark cave (rock strata showing through), however well appointed. We had to ‘air the bed clothes’ each night with the hair dryer before retiring. It was never cleaned properly at all during our four day stay and the so called complementary water and accompanying fridge not provided until after three complaints. The heat from the back of the latter became very welcome the Heating not being available. A Sicilian neighbour unfortunately encouraged her dog to squat outside our door each morning there being an absence of grass or the community spirit that might encourage her to pick it up. Later walks revealed the practice to be commonplace as is the insistence that Sicilian canines should exercise their lungs at random throughout the night. The so called Reception area is minute and not always manned. There is no lounge, bar, restaurant or tea/coffee making facilities. The nearest place to get a beverage is outside the 'Hotel' a 20 minute walk away via 100,s of steps. The breakfast room is too small for the number of guests, made more crowded by locals trying to sell body massages. Breakfast choice is restricted and of poor quality. Anyone arriving in the last half hour will have the option of a glass of orange juice (?) and a folded napkin, but not necessarily both. Staff struggled with foreign languages, and the concepts of efficiency and balance (upsetting a tray of drinks all over our breakfast table and my fellow travellers without apology).

The people who ran the hotel were first rate. Ragusa was a very interesting place. Organisation was very good, two transfers and a day trip round Montalbano country were arranged for us and our driver Gianni was super.

The decor in the bedroom was a bit dark for our taste.

excellent appartment, very well decorated with high quality materials. we also had a great terracce with a wonderful view over Ragusa. Breakfast, although not an extensive choice such as in hotels, was delicious, particularly with very tasty and high quality local cheese (peccorino & ragussano). The staff was super friendly, very nice and helpful! Starting from the young man who carried our laggage all he way up to the room and also served the breakfast; Claudia who was very nice and always around when something was needed; and of course the owner Giorgio who treated us as family and gave us lots of tips to explore the area! Grazie mile!

Giorgio is a lovely, welcoming host who goes out of his way to help people. We stayed in one of the apartments and it was spotlessly clean, furnished very tastefully and the kitchen is reasonably well equipped. We were lucky to get an apartment with absolutely wonderful views around the city and surrounding countryside. The breakfast is a bonus with lots of tasty local produce.
