It was very nice small hotel ,close to Subway station, easy to find , not expensive, and everything what traveler need was in : very nice , helpful staff:breakfast whithout limit; safe, Wi-fi ,clean room and toilet- it is place which I strongly recommend for young and older guests.
I liked everything.Nothing to complain.
great location friendly staff great value
nothing - we loved everything
Good location, nice staff, good breakfast, From Garbatella metro station take Via Pullino not the other one.
poor cleaning service, there was only one shampoo, after using it I've thrown it in the basket of the bathroom. The day after, I wanted to take a shower, I found the shampoo that I've thrown on the desk with the other things, it was percolated on the other things!!! eeeeh discusting
The neighborhood is absolutely charming, just as the staff at the hotel.
Room and bathroom could be cleaner but it was okay.
The hotel was overall good in all its aspects. I was there for business and I chose the hotel because it's very close to the place I had to go for work every day of my stay (4 days). It's also rather close to the metro station (10 mins walk), from which it's easy to go to the city center.
Nothing particular, all was fine.
I really enjoy the breakfast - early morning on the roof, with nice food. The neighborhood is indeed peaceful. Not too far from metro (10 minutes walk). Staffs are very helpful. Overall pleasant stay in the hotel!
Good location - 10' from the metro station. Staff very helpful. Nice breakfast (not excellent, though). Not noisy at all, contrary to some reviews I had read here. I stayed there on a Sunday night, and the neighbourhood was quite silent.
Furniture & tapestry maybe from the '70s - could do with a refurbishment. Bathroom a bit oudtaded as well, and a bit smelly, too. The waiter at the breakfast room didn't tell me I could have a real cappuccino - so I helped myself with hot milk & coffee from the pot.
Staff was very friendly, kind and helpful. Near Metro Station. Strong air-conditioning.
On tv it was only Italian channels.
very comfortable and friendly staff
- Location was very good - near metro station on a calm neighbourhood with decent services. - Service was exceptional. Way better service than we had in all of our four-star-hotels in Milano and Palermo. - Breakfast was ok.
-Balcony was a bit untidy. - We at first had a room which had broken A/C. But the staff instantly switched our room. - Exterior and interior style is a little bit 'retro'. But for me it just gave this hotel more personality.
The hotel is very nice. The staff at reception speaks fluently English and is very accommodating. We enjoyed the breakfasts which very nice and tasteful. The hotel is very close to city center, around 20 minutes to colosseum (walk and 3 metro stops). The room was clean and had perfectly working air condition and fridge. The Wi-Fi was free and fast. Every guest gets his own login and password. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the hotel and would definitely return and recommend it to our friends.
Breakfast, helpful, english speaking
Internet disconnect sometimes
Hotel Derby's charm is in its staff. I had many great conversations with Georgio, Angelo and Stephano. They were very helpful and full advice on how to enjoy Rome. The hotel is also situated close to the major sites and close enough to Central Rome.
The single room was a bit small as well as the shower.
only 4 train stops from Termini station. Comfortable clean hotel, friendly helpful staff
Asking for coffee cups, as there was very little
The hotel was clean, calm, well-equipped and enjoyable. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was kept clean by great cleaners. Breakfast was a free buffet which was fantastic for my friend and I as we were saving money as we went on our travels around Europe. We would definitely recommend this hotel- great value for money. Thanks to the crew at Hotel Derby!
Friendly and helpful staff. Even offered me a pre-packed breakfast for a early morning flight. I would recommend this hotel to others.
Nothing worth reporting.
Hotel room was beautiful, we have got a room with massive balcony. breakfast was very good too. staff, reception were very friendly. On the day we arrived it was late and we were very hungry. Reception guided us on very good restaurants around. On weekdays - Metro stop garbatella can be accessible easily by buses or a 10-15 min walk. definitely we will come back here when we are in Rome again.
Public buses in weekends in Rome was a joke. Heater-hot water takes a while to kick in, had to call a couple of times during evening shower. But staff was patient and helpful. They fixed problem.
Staff is awesome, very kind, supportive. You will need them if you want to make the best out of a short visit to Rome
The elevator only reaches the 3rd floor, so we had to carry our luggage up to the 4th floor. The Location is too far, so while we saved on the room price, we had to pay a lot for taxies.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and kind, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is great: just a few minutes walk to Garbatella subway which is only a couple of stops away from most of the main attractions. A nice breakfast is included (coffee at the buffet table or espresso on request at the bar) with cheese, cold meats, fruit etc. It's hard to beat this hotel for the price.
It is only a very small thing, but it would be nice if there was a toaster available at the breakfast buffet.
show the bus line from Metro to hotel on introduction
Good position - 10 minutes walk to Garbatella metro station, 2 Bus stops in 50 m from the hotel. City Centre is as far as 10-15 minutes trip with metro. Personnel - very helpful (all of them !). If you need anything all you have to do is ask. We made our reservation for Villa Borghese trogh the very kind receptionist. Room 402 and other 5 or 6 rooms has very large terraces with pitoresque view over the lively neighbourhood. Lots of restaurants and bars very close to hotel ( good food&beverages&coffe for decent prices).
Breakfast could have been a little more variate, although very good.
Calm area, about 7 minutes walk from the metro. The breakfast is ok but always the same. Staff is helpful. Quite a lot of restaurants in the area. Overall, a good place to stay when visiting Rome.
Bathroom could have been cleaner. Some of the furniture was a bit old.
Everything was perfect in our oppinion! Great personell, allways ready to help, big clean rooms, cleaned daily!, V good location, good breakfast. We recomend!
Nice clean room, good breakfast selection, good resturants near by and English speaking staff.
A bit further away from centeral Rome and a good 10-15 mins walk from the nearest train station.
Front desk staff is excellent. Giorgio and Stefanio were very helpful, cheerful and professional. Another front desk clerk, don't remember his name, older of the two was extremely kind when I came back to the hotel with a sprained ankle and proceeded to get me ice. Staff is wonderful! Easy to get to downtown buy bus or metro. Lovely restaurant down the street that sells great pizza and wine.
Another reviewer mentioned it was in a "sketchy" neighborhood. It's not! It's in a middle class urban neighborhood. Not fancy but safe.
