American coffee here, as in other places in Italy, is actually instant coffee (powder coffee dissolved in hot water). Whereas we prefer the long(ish) coffee from ground beans that one gets at breakfast in Germany, Austria or the Swiss "cafe crème". However, the restaurant staff suggested an alternative - the "espresso lungo con latte caldo aparte" :). Sorry for not being an espresso drinker in the Land of Espresso :)
Great staff - at the reception desk, in the restaurant, on the beach. Of course, as in any other country, perhaps trying to speak the local language a little bit does help.
