Good location, an easy walk into town, comfortable, large room, and the breakfasts were amazing!! The rooftop terrace is a fantastic place to sit and relax.
Rooms smelled of mildew Shower wouldnt drain
It was a great location with the sea outside our window and the creek sound at night!
staff is adorable the private beach is great location is great, even better with a car they will help you if you need to make a tour around Capri or to find a best place to rent a car, don't hesitate before asking what you need
i had an amazing time at the hotel, have nothing to complain about
This hotel had an amazing, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were absolutely brilliant; they were happy to help with booking taxis and making dinner reservations and were always very friendly. The breakfast was great too! Lots of organic, fresh and gluten free options. Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
Could do with a few more power sockets in the rooms.
Too many stairs to walk down. no elevator. No air conditioning
Staff couldn't be more helpful. Provided us with maps, information and directions for everything that we wanted to do. Rooms clean and were great value
Could hear quite a lot of noise through the night with doors closing, toilets etc but wasn't a massive issue. Breakfast was limited. Suited for people who have a sweet tooth but for the price that we paid for the hotel you cant really complain too much.
Wonderful staff. So kind and so helpful. Great organic breakfast. We had a great view of the gorge and partial view of
Staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to organise tours and transport and gave good advise on where to eat out at night. Good size room basic but clean Adequate breakfast
Everything, great staff, views and location
Hotel was in a fabulous location. The view was spectacular. The breakfast was lovely, great variety. Very peaceful in the evenings looking out at Vesuvius and Bay of Naples. The rooftop patio was sunny with loungers & chairs. Nice to relax with a book or sunbathe.it was a ten minute walk downhill ( stunning views ) to the centre of Sorrento with lovely bars/ cafés etc. staff are friendly & speak English.
No frills in hotel but that did not matter. It's got everything for basic holiday at a great price.
Private, secluded beach with elevator access Views! The breakfast was a feast with every need catered for
A bit out of town but on bus route
I loved the views, private beach, and BREAKFAST!!!!!
The room smelt a little like smoke and was very outdated but the view, service, private beach, and breakfast make up for it!
Excellent staff - very helpful. Good breakfasrt. Good location. Excellent view over Sorrento from the rooftop terrace.
No lift. Hotel signage was hard to see. We missed it twice and there are not many places to turn around on the winding roads.
The location was great - on the cliff overlooking the bay - and an easy 10 min walk to the downtown area and a 20 min walk to the train station. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room, a private beach, and Antonio and Cassandra at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. They helped us with tours and reservations and had many suggestions for activities and restaurants. Staying in Sorrento was also a good choice, and it was easy to visit Capri, Positano and Amalfi from our location. We would definitely go back to the Desiree and would recommend it highly! (It is also recommended by Rick Steves in his tour book of Italy)!
The room was a little spartan. We had a king bed and a twin for my 2 adult daughters and myself, a tiny table and 2 chairs. Of course, we didn't spend much time in the room - so it wasn't much of an issue. It would have been nice if a hairdryer was supplied.
Location. Great breakfast Little balcony Roof top terrace
No air conditioner No lift Too many stairs if you are on the lower floors
The staff was so helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were great and, the view from our room wonderful! We look forward to returning again. Judy Hostnick, Minneapolis
Steps were challanging
Location and breakfast
Shower was terrible, beds were like rock. This hotel is OK for one nights stay. Parking is limited and difficult to access.
We stayed for 12 night in this beautiful hotel. Just after I made the booking I received the confirmation by email with information about nearby sights and with a choice of 2 room - we chose triple room with a large balcony on the garden side and small glimpse on the sea and didn't regret - the balcony was very large and the view was excellent! We also asked to book for us transfer from (and to) Napoli airport. It was 75 EUR - less then I saw on the web sites. Very friendly and helpful people on reception! They helped with our lost luggage, booked taxi for us and satisfied all our requests. Antonio and Cassandra, thank you very much. The hotel has small private beach accesible by the lift. The sunbeds were free in September. The location of the hotel is very convenient - outside of noisy Sorrento center but from the other side it took for us 10-15 mins to walk to the center. So, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return there.
The staff is very friendly and helpful here. Our room had french doors leading out to a deck with a table & chairs and a spectacular view of the bay! The grounds are lovely and the common areas of the hotel have beautiful tile floors & vintage light fixtures. The breakfast was very generous & tasty, with homemade breads, pastries, yogurt, fruit, greek salad & cheeses. The location is away from the noise of downtown & an easy walk or bus ride.
The decor in our room was tired, especially in the bathroom.
Air con. needed for us from cooler climes and maybe a lift. as there are many stairs. But the location is good and the staff are super, helpful and welcoming.
no air con, and stairs
Everything !!! The decor is a little bit dated but who comes to sorrento to be stuck in between 4 walls ? Amazing helpful staff, great views and the beach. Only short distance from the centre which is great for evening views while walking back and burning off some of your dinner !
Friendly staff Good organic breakfast
My dad and I stayed here for three nights. The service was excellent and the breakfast was yummy! I liked the location because it was high up on a cliff so we had a great view and it was quiet enough so we could sleep. It was a nice walk to the center of town which we didn't mind after having dinner.
The bedrooms are extremely outdated, like 1970's style. The sheets had stains on them, the walls and ceilings had stains on them. The curtains were falling off the windows and torn. The lighting was like that of a hospital. It was a good thing my dad and I only needed to sleep and we were out all day. I would not recommend this hotel to young couples who might stay in the bedroom for a while, like a honeymoon. The beds were really soft. I didn't mind that, but my dad did. The private beach they shared with another hotel was very pitiful and needs reconstruction asap. I feel like this hotel could really use an upgrade on their bedrooms and then they could make it a three star instead of two.
Staff was incredibly helpful all the time, very welcoming. Allowed us to store our bags all day after checkout for additional excursions, Gave us good instructions for getting where we needed to be. Private pebble beach access really great.
Would have been nice to have a shower curtain in bathroom with bath only to help prevent spray of water onto the floor. Not totally necessary if you are careful. Bathtub is nice and long and relaxing.
