Sant'Eligio is very clean, conveniently located, and the personel is very friendly and helpful.
I booked this hotel but when I arrived, I was taken to a different (much lower quality) hotel with no warning because they had a problem with the water. As I arrived late in the evening, I did not feel safe searching for new accommodation alone, and in any case the manager insisted |I would have to pay booking.com's cancellation fee because it was past the deadline. The manager insisted that I pay the original agreed rate even though I had not stayed in his hotel and the one he took me to had a tiny room, no wifi in rooms, poor breakfast and much else besides. Since he had my card details through booking.com, I had no choice but to pay. I do not think this hotel should continue to be listed on booking.com, it is an absolute scam.
Very good value, comfortable, friendly staff, location - not that salubrious (but that's Naples!), but within walking distance of all the tourist sites, the station and the port, so excellent for visiting Pompeii, Sorrento and the islands.
Room was very comfortable, tidy and clean. Location is in quiet area.
Air condition unit was a bit noisy.
The room was nicely decorated. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace. The staff especially the concierge were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is located in the typical Naples downtown. Because of this and of the central location I can recommend this hotel.
Some problems with the WiFi Signal strength.
Comfortable and good value for money. Good pizza cafe next door!
Not the best area of Naples - be very careful when walking on the area - especially after dark. Don't show jewellery and watches!
Friendliness of all staff Breakfast on the Terrace
Friendly and helpful staff. Central location. Close to transport. Great restaurant nearby. The host Emilio is very helpful and informative. The hotel is very clean. Nice breakfast brought on time and served on the sun terrace or in our room.
Room was big enough and clean, staff was nice. The rooftop terrace is the best part of this hotel. We liked the breakfast. Its very Italian with cornettis and well made with good amount of coffee. Thank you! Location is very good if you wish to spend your days nearby centro storico and Spaccanapoli. It's in the walking distance from everywhere but especially from railway station (if you wish to catch Circumvesuviana-train to Pompeji and Vesuvius.) Street is quiet and safe. Port (Molo Manfredi) is little bit further away but you can still walk there and also the Piazza Plesbiscito, Chiaia, Vomero and all these "better" areas are within walking distance.
Our room must have been the worst in the whole hotel: only a small window really high from which you couldn't see anything at all! We weren't able to get any sunlight. It was little shocking at first. Of course in Naples you cant get good views because of the narrow streets but we had no view at all.
Staff very friendly. Our room was the round bed!!!! Breakfast was on the roof top balcony. Though only coffee, hot chocolate croissant and crackers, was enough to start the day. Close to main street areas..once you get your bearings!, as hotel is in a backstreet. Took cab from ferry terminal, who needed to ask twice along the way where it was!! Staff organised cab ( Mercedes!) to airport, cost Eur50, definitely worth it.
Hotel needs to give better maps of area.
All was great. Very nice, clean hotel. Friendly and helpfull staff.
Our room was a good size and clean. The location is good for sight seeing with most major attractions being approx. 15 mins walking distance away. Breakfast is either served in your room or on the sun terrace. The staff speak good English and are helpful.
The approach to the hotel is along a side street which, as is the case with most of Naples, covered in rubbish, after a few days you almost become immune to it.
Location is great to visit the historical district , wlaking distance to the main train station Garibaldi to go to Pompeya , walking distance to the port to go to Capri. Clean, confortable. Very nice staff, very helpful.
Breakfast is not really good, this is the main negative point. It is served in the room or on the terrasse : just coffee, hot chocolate , croissant , bread marmelade, fruit juice ( not fresh ) ; that is all and every day the same. The surroundings are dirty but totaly safe.
Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean.
We were upgraded to a suite, which was a great room. The streets surrounding the hotel left alot to be desired, but otherwise in a great locaton.

Everything was good
Friendly helpful staff Good service Good location Nice breakfast brought on time and to our room
Smelly drain smell from the bathroom
The receptionist/ owner was very friendly and helpfull. We enjoyed a nice breakfast on the roof terrace. The central location of this hotel was also very good. Walking distance from city and transportation.
After taking a shower the whole bathroom was wet and slippery. The official WiFi was not working, but luckily there was a unsecured one within reach.
Friendly helpful staff - cannot say enough kind words about how lovely they were! very clean rooms! Good brekkie!
Wifi sometimes didn't work, location was not in the nicest street but only short walk to most things.
Friendly helpful staff; breakfast served on time; kept clean; quiet location but central and convenient to local markets, bars, waterside area; pizzeria next door was welcoming, good range of meals.
Approach to hotel was worrying the first time, but it was quiet, and safe, not too much rubbish around, normal for most streets in the area, and the welcome and helpfulness of the staff compensated for this.
Very kind staff. Spatious room. Centrally located, walking distance from station.
1.80m long bed wasn't too comfortable. Neighborhood a bit noisy if you sleep at street side.
The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
Location. In a very dirty run down part of Naples.
Very good location for exploring the city, close to the old city center and the port with access to the islands. Bus transfer to the airport is within walking distance. Our host Emilio was very helpful and informative, as well as actively inquiring into our travel plans and helping with useful advices.
The staff were incredibly friendly and speak both Italian and English. The room was really great value for money. If you are looking for a view from your window then you will not find it here as the hotel is situated in a very tight and cramped area of Napoli. The hotel is situated on a back street that runs parallel to the main road where all the shops are Corso Umberto I. There is very little noise if any. If you look on Google street view you will see that the area is not exactly brilliant but the inside of the hotel and it's rooms are fantastic. The cleaners come everyday and change everything with no fuss or hassle. Breakfast is brought to your room which we found to be a novel experience compared to other hotels. Breakfast consists of a croissant, mug of coffee, hot chocolate, crackers with jam and nutela and fruit juice, which was always brought on the time we chose. We asked for soft pillows and we were given soft pillows which in some hotels was not the case. Overall this is a lovely hotel to stay in if you are a young or mature couple. If you have children you may find the back streets possibly not to your liking although during our stay we encountered no problems and this was during New Year celebrations.
The hotel suggests or implies that there is a restaurant within the hotel. This is not the case. If you look on Google street view you will see a pizzeria right next door to the hotel. This is the restaurant that is implied is in the hotel. It is a pizzeria and we have tasted the pizzas ourselves which are true pizzas of the area. But it is not within the hotel. Again the area the hotel finds itself in is in a cobbled back street where there was strewn rubbish on the pavement and road. In some areas of Napoli this is part and parcel of staying in Napoli so if you are ok with that then this shouldn't be a problem but if you aren't then it might be something worth considering.
Friendly and helpful staff. Central location. Close to transport. Great restaurant nearby.
