Staff were very helpful and attentive on checking in and out. The hotel is located across the river but is within easy walking distance of most of the attractions. A very enjoyable stay.
the breakfast area was the nicest place of the hotel indeed.. very nice staff serving the breakfast.. even though was missing some sort of food to be considered a real intercontinental breakfast.. but it was the best thing this hotel had to offer.. and the attention of of the reception area staff was good as well.. I would say the staff is the best thing this hotel has on its favor !
The most horrible thing was the smell (stink) not sure what was about since I didn't feel the first day.. but later on started this stink all around the hotel (mainly first floor). The individual bedroom in the first floor was quite noisy due to the advertising flag of the hotel (the wind moving the parts of the flag pole etc ..) Quite a small bedroom and extremely small reception area..
Location was excellent, in the quiete and safe street 5min walk to the center (via del corso), and 20min walk to the vatican. Room was very nice and clean. And very importan and atypically for hotels, wi-fi worked great in every moment.
Brakfast was a little poor, but you definitely won't stay hungry
Staff was very helpful Good location
Breakfast consisted mainly of sweets-not so good start of a healthy day. Somewhat worn interior. I do not think that any diplomat has been there this century, so name a little misleading.
The Hotel Diplomatic was wonderful. I stayed there when I was younger with my parents and sister and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. Centrally located, clean, great and friendly staff. I made new, great memories with my own daughter and would definitely stay there again. Gian Luca we love you & all the ladies at the breakfast buffet!!
Our WiFi service wasn't great - but it worked most of the time.
almost everything and special thanks go to the hotel's stuff Luca & Danailo who really helped me regarding the wifi access, finding tours around the city, arranging taxies for me,,, etc location is very nice and almost close to everything xxx
wifi access, signal strength was weak ...
Location: easy to get to from the Air Port and that , too, cheaply on SIT bus making its first stop in Piazza Cavour , a stone's throw from the hotel . And easy to get away from , too, : there is a bus stop literally at the doorstep. Almost all tourist attractions are within walking distance. The statf were jovial and helpful ( What a priceless quality to encounter in a foreign land, one putting us at greater ease than material comforts).
Breakfast needs to match the hotel's other good qualities
- great location in center of city (close to Vatican) - clean and pleasant room -helpful staff
- breakfast without vegetable - wifi needs login every time when I connected
The breakfast was good and the location great!!
We stayed fro a week. The location of the hotel is perfect. You are close to everything and you can just walk everywhere. It is not a luxury hotel but for the money you are getting a great deal. It was very clean, the room was big for European standards so was the bed. The shower was strong, hot water always and again very decent size. Windows in the room very soundproof so the room is not too noisy. Earplugs are a good idea for anybody who sleeps light. There is an elevator in the building. Breakfast was good. Not spectacular but ok. We were very pleased and would stay there again. Our room had a foldable sofa and would be probably big enough for 4. The wifi is free and we were able to check emails, fb etc. The hotel arranged a car for us to get to the airport. Price was regular taxi.
This is not really what I didn't like but somebody might. It is very simple hotel. No big lobby, nothing fancy, the rooms just bare necessities. Very tiny tv, no desk, no vanity (one thing I really didn't like was a horrible light in the bathroom so I really had hard time to put makeup on). You have to return your key at the reception when leaving and pick it up when you come back. (We had no problem with that) If you are expecting more comfort you have to be willing to pay more. We decided we rather spend the money in Rom's restaurants.
Location was perfect, walking distance to Vatican (10 min), Spanish stairs (10 min), Fontana di trevi (15 min), even to collessium if you like walking (25-30 min). There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Room was quiet, not very small, bed was large and comfy. Nice and clean bathroom.
My room facing the backside of the building was quite dark and gloomy. The breakfast was ok with good croissant, cake, jams, coffee but could have been better with eggs, 2-3 kinds of better cheese, fruits, veggies etc. (everything was sweet except for one kind of salami and cheese) The nearest metro stations are at least 10 min walk each (Spagna and Lepanto stations) No water heating facility in the room for tea/coffee.
Staff very helpful good breakfast Enjoyable stay.
The Diplomatic was a nice small hotel with an excellent location close to the Vatican and Centro Storico. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Gianluca at the reception. Room was a good size, very clean and the bed was comfortable (maybe a bit hard for some but we liked it). Bathroom was very clean also and looked quite new.
Our room (104) was on the first floor facing the street. So the street noise bothered us at first, but we had earblugs with, so we were able to sleep just great. And the street quieted down a bit for the night. On the night of the arrival we asked to change a room, but the hotel was fully booked. Breakfast was could have been better, toast, cheese, ham, pastries, cereals, juice...no veggies in sight :) Coffee was great!
materiali utilizzati negli arredi (pietra,legno)
mancanza di chiave magnetica nelle camere.
Good location Friendly staff Reasonable price
Breakfast a little poor. Scrambled eggs could improve it.
Well situated, easy to find, 5 minutes walk from airport bus-shuttle stop. 10 minutes walk from Vatican. Clean. Very good breakfast!
Little bit noisy(from the street)
Nice hotel. The location is perfect. Near to the Vatican i Via del Corso. Right by side 3 perfect restorants. Splendor, T-Bone, Francescana
-Excellent staff -Awesome location. If you wanna sightseeing in Rome, walk 10 mins from this hotel to bus tour stop. Walk 10 mins to via condotti (shopping street). Steak restaurant 30 secs ( in front of hotel)
-Breakfast only bread, cereal, yoghurt, juices -Excellent speed of wi-fi, but poor signal (ask a room that have strength wifi signal)
Location near bus stop and Vatican within walking distance.
Staff Location Space in room, service and helpfulness of staff
Pillows and bed a bit hard
hotel staff very helpfull and friendly....good continental breakfast in the mornings....very clean rooms and a great location for all of rome
We stayed there for 4 nights and it was better than expected! The location was very close to the place where the airport shuttle let us, and at a walking distance to all attractions. The breakfast was very good, the room was very nice, clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly, and willing to help. Overall it was a very pleasant city break, and we recommend it for sure!
Very polite , very good location
Perfect everything:location, breakfast,service....I Loved here!
A little bit trouble since I needed to set up the wifi every time I left and entered again, and also a bit too slow.. Besides this, everything was perfect!
Me and my gf stayed in this hotel while on a short vacation in Rome (3 nights). I think that the hotel offers a very fair value for its price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is very close to Via del Corso. The hotel is very simple and a bit old fashioned, but it's cozy and clean. In general I do recommend it very much.
I do wish the hotel would upgrade it's breakfast, since the coffee was a disaster and the choice of food is very scarce.
