We had stayed at Hotel Doge before; therefore we knew that the location is excellent and that the entire hotel is definitely not newly renovated. Good value for money. We had a big room (no 404) with a balcony facing the street (requested in advance). Plenty of space for luggage and a large double bed. Bathroom was also quite large. Breakfast is okay: Good coffee, croissant and biscuits. If you ask for it, you can also have juice and corn flakes. Tip: Ask the front desk (Liliana) to arrange your airport transportation. The driver (Paolo) will carry your luggage to/from his minivan and the cost is not more than a normal taxi. A lot of small things are broken/defect: Power outlets, shower head, lamps, closet doors, wallpaper etc. There is an elevator, but it is very small and stops only halfway between floors. Hotel Doge is on the 4th floor.

Our room was very clean, comfortable and because it was overlooking a courtyard, very quiet. Staff was friendly. We only stayed one night but should we come back to Rome I would probably return. It's not easy to find the Reception. Some signs would be helpful, especially when you arrive with suitcases. The lift stops in between floors, so again, clear signs to Reception will help!

It's central location within the city tourist area. All staff where most helpful especially on reception. Gluten - free restaurants in Rome were located for us. Poor condition/decor to entrance stairs to first floor reception & onto rooms. More prominent external hotel sign would have been helpful to find entrance to hotel. Lift needed to go to ground floor level & be larger. When we stayed at the hotel we could see that the entrance was being upgraded.

The hotel is simple but in great location. As we went to the hotel only to sleep it was what we needed. The staff was very patient with our attempt to speak Italian. We ende up communicating in English in the end. The breakfast was simple but good! We had a hard time finding the Hotel because the sign is not so obvius and the street numbers are kinda messy. Overall it was a great experience. I recommend if you're not picky and are only looking for a place to rest your body.

The position was excellent, so close to the spanish steps. It was very clean hotel, and the staff could speak english very well (which was a very big problem in Italy generally) The hotal building and entrance were somehow freaky, the elevator was also so small and you had the feeling that it could fall anytime ... NO WIFI on the fourth floor (hotel Doge)

Inexpensive The sign is poorly lit and small, easy to pass by. Also the entrance is rather dingy, the reception area is small and I generally felt unsafe there.

Close to many city landmarks and facilities. Great morning coffee. Wifi hard to operate. Only one key per room available and room required locking with key from inside. Not the cleanest hotel I have stayed at.

Only the location of this hotel is good, it is very close to the Trevi Fountain and also the Spanish Steps! A lot of things, this hotel is pure catastroffe: -The room is not even close to the pictures on the web site, it is very small, the bed is not confortable at all, it is not clean, and the bathroom is terrible( There are no towels, but cloths which are so slim that you cannot dry, the ceiling is dirty, a lot of humidity everywhere, shower is on the top and not functioning well, spplashing everywhere). I was disgusted each time I entered in the bath shower! -The hotel has not entrance, it is situated in an old buiding, and one floor of the building is adapted to hotel. When You climb to the stairs ,you do not feel safe, because the walls on thr sides are dark and very filthy, you feel like you enter in a historic monument ! -The windows are old and not changed for at least 30 years, You cannot fall asleep because it is very noisy and you are on the street! -Regarding the breakfast, I did not have such breakfast anywhere else where I have travelled.Every day for the breakfast You recive one piece of croissan, plus one butter and jam, and only one cup of juice! I can udnerstand that they want to cut the cost, but it is completely not corresponding to the price which we have paid, 140 EUR for one room! My honest reccomendation as a young women is DO NOT STAY HERE!

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed and well located. The room was small, but we only used it for sleeping. Not a flash hotel, but good value for money if you aren't fussy. My wife can be fussy, and did not want to stay there initially as she thought it was a bit poor standard, but by the time we left she was happy with it NY the time we left. It's a little dated and the bedspread looked like it was due for wash, but overall it was good value.

Location is fantastic with many if not all the sights within easy walking distance, we found it easier and quicker to walk around Rome with a map than to use the hop on bus. Breakfast was basic with juice, coffee croissant and a bread roll, enough but if you're a late eater, I think you get what everyone else doesn't want, but not to worry there's a Mc cafe close by. The room is cleaned and beds made daily. I would recommend this hotel for the location and price as there arn't any cheep hotels in Rome. Metro station about 250 yards away The hotel is called Firenze and Doge and could do with a larger sign outside and could do with a re-vamp, scruffy decor The air-con in the room is pre set and is non negotiable.

Location was good. Breakfast was good - especially the coffee maker ( thank you for looking after me). Could do with a bit more room for sitting though - after all you do know how many guests you have to cater for! Not happy with the faulty electrics - but the staff sorted it. The bathroom towels were not our style - they seemed like linen clothes rather than towels - it would be worth advising customers to bring their own towels.
