Checking out was about the best thing I can think of.Knowing that I wouldn't have to return to that room with my family at the end of a long day made me so very happy. I'm so thankful to have checked out and moved on. 300 words would never be enough to describe all of what we didn't like about the Hotel Doge. Bathrooms were filthy, no clean towels, black mold, leaking water, no shower pressure, and limited hot water. Beds had ripped up mattresses and were disgustingly filthy, holes in walls. Do not stay here.

It was the worst hotel i`ve ever been in all my life! After a very exhausting day, I got in my room and all my things were gone. I asked the recepcionist what happened, and after a few calls, she tould me that the maid have thrown away my clouthes, coat, shoes and she did not know why. It was very late and most of the stores was closed. I was alone with nothing. In the other day, the manager gave some of my things back and said that a mistake happened, and just that. She did not even say i`m sorry. She yelled at me and said that she woul not know if I was tellin the true. She said she would give a discount of 65 euros or I could go to the police. I did not accept because just to buy amenities and some clothes to wear in that night I spent 85 euros. I felt like nothing.

Location was good, that's about it Everything except location. Problems started as soon as we booked as they immediately double charged my card and denied it for about a week. Then after finally accepting this occurred we got told day after day we would get a cash refund but recieved nothing each day. Then were promised this would occur on check out. On check out we were told by the same staff a cash refund is illegal in Italy and they would have to transfer the money. After initially receiving a portion of the overcharged amount it took me 2 months to receive a full refund and never received an apology. However booking.com were very helpful. On top of this the rooms smelled really bad and were dirty and tiny (could barel fit luggage in there). The hotel building was literally falling apart. TV didn't work and when we asked for it to be fixed it took a day for the guy to come to our room. The website is nothing like the actual hotel. There is no wifi as is advertised. The towels were like napkins. The breakfast was just a stale croissant. And worst of all the the staff are rude and uninterested, when I had to use the reception computer to get my bank details (as there was no wifi) the man interrupted me while I was sitting there to write back to his friends on Skype. Me and my girlfriend are on a 4 month trip and this Is by far the worst place we stayed! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Only location. When we arrived, they told us that our room was not available and offered another hotel. But finally they found a room. Towels are changed once in 2 day. During our 5 day stay they never changed our bed sheets. Rooms are very old, small and not very clean. Look nothing like the pictures above. Water supply is bad. No minibar in the room. No WiFi.

The location was 5 mins walk from Barberini metro station and 5 minutes to the Spanish steps - 10 minutes to Trevi Fountain so pleasant to be able to stroll home in the evening. 1 member of breakfast staff v good and one receptionist very good - though struggling with poor hotel. Very difficult to find as there was very little signage - just a plaque in the wall which you couldn't have seen unless you stopped and looked at every door way. The entrance was a wide corridor with filthy glass display cabinets either side and did not look anything like a hotle entrance . We were checking road numbers on opposite sides of road as they went up in 2s expecting our side to be even numbers but number 106 was opposite number 13 so we went far too far ! There was no reply when we tried to call them. When we booked we searched for twin rooms on booking.com - but were not aware that when we actually booked with thw hotel we should have added that we wanted twin rooms again. Nb This needs stressing. They accommodated us in single rooms on separate floors. Floor 1 had another another hotel name ...? Floor 2 - my floor was in darkeness and I had to stumble thru the dark breakfast room to put the light on to check out where my room was!! (I.e down a corridor the other side) . Lift only stopped on mid stairs halfway between floors so you had to lug cases. No help offered with cases. We were told we'd get twin room on 2nd night and our cases would be there following night. Our cases were still in reception and no room was ready 2nd night. Reception staff went up and pulled beds apart to make twin beds and did not take up extra sheets and covers - we needed to ask for a second sheet and second cover. No air con in reception or corridors - 30degree c . Air con in room - one setting only - bit too cold for al night - though effective. Rooms by road very noisy cars on cobbles ... and heard every word other neighbours were saying. Bathroom tiles and shower were dirty - uncomfortably dirty. This hotel should have no stars - I will not recommend it and would not return. Other people staying there said their room was not made up at all over weekend. A very poor hotel with some staff trying to make the best of a bad deal.

Hotel Doge exceeded my expectation. My room was always clean and warm to come back to after a day of exploring Roma. Breakfast was fantastic, the pastries set you up for the day. Most importantly was the great location and polite and helpful staff.

The location is excellent, in the center, metro station is close. The breakfest is good, rooms are clean, clean towels every day. Pretty small room and not too beautiful, but if you come to see Rome and only sleep in the room it doesn't matter at all.

The location was perfect! We just walked around and didn't use any means of transport! The shampoo and generally the toiletries were not provided in a sufficient amount. We asked for shampoo and they said that it was finished... However, during the same day they brought us some.

The only good thing about this hotel was the service at the reception. However, in total one could say that it was actually moderate. The room was unacceptable, nothing like the rooms you can see on the hotel's website. The breakfast was less than moderate.

The location was excellent. Walking distance to all sights and very close to public transport links. I just didnt expect the hotel reception and the rooms are in separate buildings. The reception was on one side of a building and to access the rooms, you have to go across the lobby to a different entrance. This other entrance was dark and gloomy. As a lone traveller didnt really feel safe walking up the stairs. There was a lift which was old fashion and small.

The location. The rest was the worst hotel we stayed at out of 15 hotels. And clearly. Firstly ill say that I am not one to complain, we stayed in 15 hotels during our holiday and this was the worst by a huge stretch! Even at the price. Disgusting beds. Old, collapsed springs and dirty mattress. I slept on the floor for each of the 3 nights. Because they couldn't move us. Shower so small that I couldn't cup the water in my hands because my elbows hit the glass. It took over 5 mins of running the tap before we got hot water. Zero water pressure. So little in fact that a couple of the nozzles were actually dripping in the shower. Heater didn't work. Plus a very small room. Breakfast was only a croissant and coffee.

Location The fact that we asked for our room not to be cleaned, someone came into our room and stole my black Mont Blanc ball point pen! I'm sure it was the cleaning lady, that also serves breakfast, who we had a problem with concerning the service, or lack of, that morning!

Location was excellent but the hotel rooms vary from good size and modernized to small and terrible -old, dirty, ugly. Luck of the draw which room you get when checking in. Third floor all rooms seem to be renovated. Very much a 3 star hotel. Entrance way is a scary rundown hallway. First impression if not prepaid was to run away. After 4 days we were okay with it as we had a refurbished room and location was great and we were out all day. Not a hotel room you could enjoy just being in for rest and relaxation. Very shabby entrance way - and chance of getting a bad room. It had been recommended to us but I could not recommend to anyone except young backpackers who are okay with hostel standards.

Good location - Trevi Fountain, Spanish Stairs and metro is just 5 minutes walking distance. Hotel extreemly needs renovation and new furniture!!! Honestly, premises and equipment are awful. Breakfast was very poor even for "Italian standart" - one small cup of coffe, glass of juice and 2 medium sandwiches with jam. Staff is quiet "cold" to their guests and never smile :-( Hotel definately doesn't mach 3-star standart.

The location is really nice. Close to the most famous piazzas, and safe neighborhood. Our room was comfortable enough. The breakfast is very poor; the service for the breakfast is not adequate; the breakfast room is not clean enough (no English speaking, not organized staff, the table clothes should be changed more frequently). The bed sheets should be changed more frequently

Only the location and the price. I had 3 days meetings in 200 m from the hotel, it was very convenient. Many restaurnats and shops around that area, that was good too. No internet! Room - nothing like the photos. It's shubby, small, looks like homelss people shelter. Breakfast is very modest (coffee+croissant). Gloomy breakfast room has no windows! One of my worst experiences with european hotels. I wish I read the reviews before booking it!

“I loved the location of the hotel. It is in a walking distance to the trevi, spanish steps, barberini metro station, via del corso and many others.
