“Good location. Close to the Piazza Spagna, Metro, Fontana di Trevi, shopping and restaurants in the side streets in walking distance. Bus line 116 right in front. Easy to catch a passing taxi.”

In a historic building, Hotel Doge is a 5 minute walk from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. It offers rooms with flat-screen satellite TV and air conditioning. The hotel is 1200 ft from Barberini Metro Station and less than a 10-minute walk from the shopping area of Via del Corso. The friendly staff at the 24-hour front desk can provide tourist information. The Doge’s functional rooms are simply decorated, and have either carpeted or tiled floors. Some overlook the Roman rooftops. Their private bathroom includes a hairdryer and toiletries. Checking out was about the best thing I can think of.Knowing that I wouldn't have to return to that room with my family at the end of a long day made me so very happy. I'm so thankful to have checked out and moved on. 300 words would never be enough to describe all of what we didn't like about the Hotel Doge. Bathrooms were filthy, no clean towels, black mold, leaking water, no shower pressure, and limited hot water. Beds had ripped up mattresses and were disgustingly filthy, holes in walls. Do not stay here.

Only the location of this hotel is good, it is very close to the Trevi Fountain and also the Spanish Steps! A lot of things, this hotel is pure catastroffe: -The room is not even close to the pictures on the web site, it is very small, the bed is not confortable at all, it is not clean, and the bathroom is terrible( There are no towels, but cloths which are so slim that you cannot dry, the ceiling is dirty, a lot of humidity everywhere, shower is on the top and not functioning well, spplashing everywhere). I was disgusted each time I entered in the bath shower! -The hotel has not entrance, it is situated in an old buiding, and one floor of the building is adapted to hotel. When You climb to the stairs ,you do not feel safe, because the walls on thr sides are dark and very filthy, you feel like you enter in a historic monument ! -The windows are old and not changed for at least 30 years, You cannot fall asleep because it is very noisy and you are on the street! -Regarding the breakfast, I did not have such breakfast anywhere else where I have travelled.Every day for the breakfast You recive one piece of croissan, plus one butter and jam, and only one cup of juice! I can udnerstand that they want to cut the cost, but it is completely not corresponding to the price which we have paid, 140 EUR for one room! My honest reccomendation as a young women is DO NOT STAY HERE!

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed and well located. The room was small, but we only used it for sleeping. Not a flash hotel, but good value for money if you aren't fussy. My wife can be fussy, and did not want to stay there initially as she thought it was a bit poor standard, but by the time we left she was happy with it NY the time we left. It's a little dated and the bedspread looked like it was due for wash, but overall it was good value.

Location is fantastic with many if not all the sights within easy walking distance, we found it easier and quicker to walk around Rome with a map than to use the hop on bus. Breakfast was basic with juice, coffee croissant and a bread roll, enough but if you're a late eater, I think you get what everyone else doesn't want, but not to worry there's a Mc cafe close by. The room is cleaned and beds made daily. I would recommend this hotel for the location and price as there arn't any cheep hotels in Rome. Metro station about 250 yards away The hotel is called Firenze and Doge and could do with a larger sign outside and could do with a re-vamp, scruffy decor The air-con in the room is pre set and is non negotiable.

Location was good. Breakfast was good - especially the coffee maker ( thank you for looking after me). Could do with a bit more room for sitting though - after all you do know how many guests you have to cater for! Not happy with the faulty electrics - but the staff sorted it. The bathroom towels were not our style - they seemed like linen clothes rather than towels - it would be worth advising customers to bring their own towels.

Good location. Close to the Piazza Spagna, Metro, Fontana di Trevi, shopping and restaurants in the side streets in walking distance. Bus line 116 right in front. Easy to catch a passing taxi. Breakfast quite good for an Italian hotel with espresso/capuchino machine. Vending machine with soft drinks and water for 1 € in the lobby. City hotel on several floors. If you have to use the elevator - take your cell with you. You never know. In very small rooms no phone and no mini bar. Rattling fan in the broom closet like bathroom - at least in mine. Old building, not very comfortable - ok if you are interested in archeology - before restauration..

This is a budget hotel for cost consious travellers and makes no pretence about it. If you are looking for something with frills go elsewhere. Rooms are small and tidy and bathroom/shower are small but have lots of hot water. Breakfast is basic but OK. Staff v helpful. Perfectly placed for all the major sites. I you like sitting in your hotel room in the evenings pay more and go elsewhere. Nothing particular, just basic accomodation.

The location is close to Piazza di Spagna and Barberini Metro Station. The room was cleaned everyday. Nice rich breakfast. When we get there the hotel stuff lie to us about a request of 2 separate beds (he told us that they never take the request from booking.com). After 4 days and after contacting with booking.com the manager apologies to us for their mistake but still we sleep for 6 days in the same bed with my cousin. The elevator didnt work. the room was so small not even a place to open my suitcase.

The hotel is in a great location. The price is right for economy accommodations. The staff is helpful with information and assistance. The hotel is noisy from a lot of street traffic. The elevator did not work.

Hotel Doge exceeded my expectation. My room was always clean and warm to come back to after a day of exploring Roma. Breakfast was fantastic, the pastries set you up for the day. Most importantly was the great location and polite and helpful staff.

Location was good, that's about it Everything except location. Problems started as soon as we booked as they immediately double charged my card and denied it for about a week. Then after finally accepting this occurred we got told day after day we would get a cash refund but recieved nothing each day. Then were promised this would occur on check out. On check out we were told by the same staff a cash refund is illegal in Italy and they would have to transfer the money. After initially receiving a portion of the overcharged amount it took me 2 months to receive a full refund and never received an apology. However booking.com were very helpful. On top of this the rooms smelled really bad and were dirty and tiny (could barel fit luggage in there). The hotel building was literally falling apart. TV didn't work and when we asked for it to be fixed it took a day for the guy to come to our room. The website is nothing like the actual hotel. There is no wifi as is advertised. The towels were like napkins. The breakfast was just a stale croissant. And worst of all the the staff are rude and uninterested, when I had to use the reception computer to get my bank details (as there was no wifi) the man interrupted me while I was sitting there to write back to his friends on Skype. Me and my girlfriend are on a 4 month trip and this Is by far the worst place we stayed! DO NOT STAY HERE!

The location is excellent, in the center, metro station is close. The breakfest is good, rooms are clean, clean towels every day. Pretty small room and not too beautiful, but if you come to see Rome and only sleep in the room it doesn't matter at all.

The location was excellent. Walking distance to all sights and very close to public transport links. I just didnt expect the hotel reception and the rooms are in separate buildings. The reception was on one side of a building and to access the rooms, you have to go across the lobby to a different entrance. This other entrance was dark and gloomy. As a lone traveller didnt really feel safe walking up the stairs. There was a lift which was old fashion and small.

The location. The rest was the worst hotel we stayed at out of 15 hotels. And clearly. Firstly ill say that I am not one to complain, we stayed in 15 hotels during our holiday and this was the worst by a huge stretch! Even at the price. Disgusting beds. Old, collapsed springs and dirty mattress. I slept on the floor for each of the 3 nights. Because they couldn't move us. Shower so small that I couldn't cup the water in my hands because my elbows hit the glass. It took over 5 mins of running the tap before we got hot water. Zero water pressure. So little in fact that a couple of the nozzles were actually dripping in the shower. Heater didn't work. Plus a very small room. Breakfast was only a croissant and coffee.

Location The fact that we asked for our room not to be cleaned, someone came into our room and stole my black Mont Blanc ball point pen! I'm sure it was the cleaning lady, that also serves breakfast, who we had a problem with concerning the service, or lack of, that morning!
