the smell - there canal around two sides of the hotel was odorous for much of the time we were there. One accepts this is sometimes to be expected in Venice
Location on Giudecca suited us - great to be away from the crowds. Easy to access via vaporett service, which added to overall experience. Good room and breakfast for price - all in all, I thought it great value for Venice.
Loved not being in the very busy surroundings of Venice all the time.
Some reception staff spoke very good English and were very helpful whilst others were difficult to communicate with.
We arrived a bit earlier but the room was ready The location of the hotel is perfect - four stops by vaporetto from San Marco and in a quiet and nice district with trattorias where the locals go, five mins from Palanca vaporetto stop. Just be aware that you can here from San Marco only by vaporetto as the hotel is on Giudecca island. But this also gives the opportunity to explore some other part of Venice and enjoy slightly less prices compared to the very centre.
change of pressure in the shower - couple of times got frizzled... no Internet in the rooms no kettle in the rooms breakfast is ok but quite limited choice, though of course this is value for money
Clean, nice view, comfortable and safe
Clean with nice breakfast and helpful staff.
The walls are not well isolated so I could have heared the people in the next room. Furthermore, there is no internet connection in the room and the connection in lobby is fairly poor.
The very warm welcome we received, the comfort of our room and the very nice breakfast. The venue was perfect with easy travelling on the water bus.
There was nothing I didn't like, but being English, a tea tray in the room would have been very welcome!
It was in a quiet area, next to a canal and our room had a lovely little balcony with a view of the tip of St Marks! Breakfast was good and staff were extremely helpful. We would recommend this hotel to our friends
Nothing to dislike!
Lovely little hotel on the quiet island of Giudecca. Easily reached by freqent waterbuses. Reception staff and breakfast girl were lovely. Decent selection at breakfast although fresh cheese would have been welcome.
No complaints. Yes, shower was hot and cold, but not bad if warned about it.
Very clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. I really enjoyed breakfast and the lady who did the breakfast was very efficient. Good location and so easy to reach the main part of Venice. Criticism of the water bus cost I thought was unnecessary. It's part of the Venice experience and well worth around the £25 pass for two days to go anywhere you want.
Pillows were hard. Sounds pathetic, but a sore neck in the morning just spoilt a great Hotel experience.
Very friendly helpful staff, giving us advice concerning water buses and routes. We travelled with our adult daughter, and had booked a room with 3 single beds, which was spacious with a bar fridge and good-sized bathroom. Breakfast has cereal, milk, yoghurt, croissants, cold meats and cheese, jam, fresh fruit, but no eggs at all. Coffee comes from a Nestlé machine. The cost per night is much cheaper than on the main island of Venice. If you are on the go all day, and you only want to sleep at Domina Home Guidecca, it's perfect
Nothing at all However, directions to the hotel are confusing...once you get off the waterbus at Palanca, turn left, cross a bridge, and the first tiny ALLEYWAY (not street), turn right (no street sign at all), walk to the end to the next canal, hotel on the right
On a small 'island' away from the crazy main area of venice, but only a boat hop away from the main sites (St. Mark's Square), this lovely small hotel with lots of character and really friendly and helpfull staff, rooms cleaned and beds made daily, a perfect location for exploring Venice by day and night. Very comfortable beds which is a rareity.
More a suggestion than a complaint, but would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room rather than haveing to go to the bar for a hot drink. The Hotel did say that you need to book a Superior room for that!
Very friendly and efficient staff. Good breakfast. Very clean all over.
No WIFI in the room. A little bit out of the way.
Room and da bed
Shower and support service
Location excellent Clean Very friendly staff Quiet
Beds hard, felt spirals Water shower pulsates, temperature changes
The staff are very welcoming and obliging.. The décor and furnishings are excellent. The location is attractive, away from crowds but accessible. Good restaurant by canal nearby. Excellent breakfasts
Quiet location. Nice staff.
Breakfast. Phone didn't work. Roons not as nice as add.
Staff were very helpful, if we didn't know or understand something they would research it for us. Breakfast was good. The room was comfortable for the visiting guest, everything you needed including tea and coffee facilities ....and a pair of slippers. We picked the hotel to be a little away from the hustle and bustle in the evenings, there were several restaurants to choose from, but may not suit everyone.
Location (quiet, like living in "real neighborhood in venice") decor, staff, immaculate cleanliness
Beds were a bit narrow and small for two adults
it rained in the night and there was water leaking in our room. spoiled some of our clothes.
Not located in Venice main - on the island of Guidecca. Very quite, uncrowded restaurants. Super friendly staff. Jacamo was incredible
The peaceful location, staff's friendlessness and the ease of moving around avoiding crowd, dab value for money.
It would have been good to have had WiFi in the bedrooms.
We were greater at the hotel by Guiseppe, who gave us amazing restaurant recommendations and tourist info. He was by far the most helpful of this hotels employees.
The breakfast wasn't really a breakfast, just pastries and fruit. There were a couple of women on the staff who were unbelievably impolite. Literally standing at the front desk laughing and talking about guest, very low class. Often we would return to our room and it would smell worse than the sometimes sewer like smell that comes with being in Venice. For the life of us we couldn't figure out how there were always Mosquitos in out room. Although a warning should have been the already dead Mosquitos squished to the walls and ceiling- just disgusting. If you are desperate and on a budget then maybe, otherwise you can do much better in Venice.
