Same breakfast everyday with not much selection. It is located on a back street so a bit hard to find at first. Once you are familiar then everything is ok. Air conditioning was too noisy and we couldn't sleep properly.
Good locariam for the working I was doing.
comfort, location, breakfast
The staff. At the end of our trip, we asked the receptionst to give us the bus timetable through the airport. She gave us the bus timetable from the airport to the center, we were just about to lose the plane. In the first day , we asked for maps and she gave us a unuseful one(no streets name), next day other receptionist gave us a good one. Please take in consideration this feedback, we consider that the staff is really important.
Domus Ciliota is in a perfect location, very close to San Marco, and the Accademia bridge (one of the three bridges to cross the Canal Grande). Three different boat stops are also very close but it's better to move by feet. A good breakfast is served in the morning, and the staff is very kind and helpful. Don't expect you a luxury room but for the price is well-worthy!!
very comfortable, and nice people
not very easy to find
Room Size Clean Bathroom Quite neighbourhood Hassle-free extremely close to Sant Angelo Waterbus Stop.(Direct to-fro airport by alilaguna service)
B'fast options can be improved Rooms should have tea/coffee making facilities
The wall are very thin and I could hear my neighbor breathing
The location was right for our New Year's Eve in Venice.
This is basically a youth hostel disguised as a hotel. When I walked in, it reminded me strongly of a dormitory because there is no carpeting anywhere and the hallways are creepy and long. It actually used to be a monastery dormitory, and they have done nothing to fix it up. The rooms look like dorm rooms, complete with cheap quality furniture and again, no carpeting on the linoleum floor. The walls are paper thin, so if you have the misfortune, like us, to be next door to someone with a chronic cough, you are out of luck. You can hear everything. The wifi was terrible and the included breakfast a little gross. They had machines which dispensed orange juice and coffee, nothing was fresh. Our bathroom had mold in it, and the housekeeping staff tried to kick us out of the room so they could clean, and when we refused because we said we were leaving in 10 minutes, they just walked away and didn't ever clean our room. Nice. I research hotels extensively before booking and felt mislead by the reviews and pictures associated with this one. The price too was misleading, as it was about $150 euros a night, not exactly cheap. I was surprised that so many "mature couples" gave it a good review. I have no doubt there are better options for the money.
Nice staff, clean and cosy room. Good breakfast. Perfect location.
Nice boutique hotel. Perfect location. I will definitely stay there again.
Bed was too small.
I had some trouble getting money to pay my bill on checkout. The staff were fine about it, and very understanding. No dramas.
Very conveniently located, within 10 mins walking distance to all major attractions. Plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood. Hotel very clean. Quiet side street, out of the hustle and bustle of the main thoroughfares which were jam-packed with tourists. Would stay there again.
Single room is somewhat small, but this is standard in cities like Venice.
Perfect Location Helpful Staff Clean Everything you need - no frills Excellent Value for Money
Very nice place, close to everything, helpful staff, good breakfast. Enjoyed the stay there!
tiniest TV I've ever seen. Room was basic, it's fine as a place to crash for the night.
In Venice U will walk a lot. This hotel is well located; near St Marks Square; within walking distance of all attractions.
Loved the location and the facilities. The staff was unbelievably helpful! Great room.
A good breakfast buffet with a wide choice of food. Centrally located with easy walking to most of the main sights.
Our bed was one of the most uncomfortable hotel beds I've slept in. Small, with springs that could break bones. The rooms are noisy with sound that reverberates through the corridors and floors. Domus Ciliota is a hotel with no ambience - inside it looks like a converted school or municipal offices.
Peace and quiet charm Not glitzy
We only stayed one night instead of 3 because it wasn't anything like we expected. They were good about canceling our reservation for the other days. The rate is high for the value.
Dorm room feel, price high for value.
reception not friendly on the webiste it looks nicer the real
Small but comfortable room and great location in the san marco district with no bridges to negotiate from san samuele vaporetto stop. The window in our room opened to rooftop views of Venice and the courtyard below.Good value for money, friendly staff and will recommend.
location was great. room size adequate. breakfast very good . free wi fi.
room too warm in last hotel in Milan so we asked before even checking in if the a/c was working and was told no. we used the metal shutters that night- were there for three nights. woken up by mosquitoes buzzing by our heads. husband killed almost 10 in the morning. discovered the a/c was in fact working and used it for the next 2 nights.still had a few mosquitoes in the room on the second day. none by the last day.
location, friendliness of staff
choice of breakfast was limited
