The staff were excellent, very firendly and accomodating. It was like returning home every night. The room had an excellent outlook as we requested. The station was only 5 min away where we used the 24 hr hop on off bus. The area was very safe. The offer off colection from the airport is very good. As we had bags we paid 20 euros from the station. Night time prices. I would choose this again when staying in rome.

After doing a thorough research, I chose the Eurostars Domus Aurea hotel located in a close proximity to Termini (the central train station as well as the Metro station). Booking directly through the hotel chain's website didn't work properly, so I booked through the booking.com which worked without a hitch. Booking.com also contains numerous customer reviews about hotels, including this one, and the site actually checks that the reviewer actually stayed in a particular hotel. I actually relied on the reviews posted on booking.com to choose the hotel. We stayed in the Eurostars Domus Aurea hotel for several days in the course of our European trip, and I can recommend this hotel if you want to spend several days in Rome, be close to major tourist attractions as well as to points of convenient transportation to/from Fiumicino Airport, and also not to break the bank. The price was reasonable, included American style buffet breakfast served on the sixth floor in the observation room (so you can enjoy seeing Rome from the rooftop). We enjoyed eating breakfasts there, quality of food was excellent. Don't forget to ask a server to make espresso for you (it's some secret magic), you will be surprised by the taste! The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, and it seems that access points were located on each floor; it worked perfectly. The room was rather small, but for the short non-business stay it served the purpose. If you arrive before the check-in (2pm) or depart after the check-out (12pm), the hotel allows you to leave your suitcases in the locked room, for free. It takes only ~ 10 minutes to reach Termini on foot which is important when you drag your suitcases on arrival/departure. The room was rather small and not well lit - reading was practically impossible.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Eurostars Domus Aurea. Our room was clean, pretty and comfortable. As with many European hotels, the room and bath were not large, but we had plenty of storage and room to walk around. The bath was larger than some we have had at more expensive hotels, and was stocked with soaps, a toothbrush and toothpaste, and even a razor and shaving gel! It's location near the train station was really a plus because there were no hills to drag luggage up. We would gladly stay there again. We had a minor issue with the room overheating, but we never told the staff because it was easily fixed by opening the window.

The location near the train terminal was good, but the neighborhood is not that great. Excellent breakfast selection. Pleasant staff. Neighborhood not so great, especially at night.

Breakfast is a real treat, full of everything, served on the roof terrace with a wonderful view over the city. The location is perfect, close to Termini station with all buses metro and trains stopping nearby. The room was very small but nicely furnished and it had everything was needed (TV, minibar, desk, WI-FI). The single bed was big and comforatble. If your priority is having a large room, this is not the place for you.

Stayed for 3 nights in Domus Aurea, chose the hotel for closeness to the Termini station and read that they have excellent breakfasts...and that`s true! There is plenty of everything you would like to eat in the morning: cereales (3 types) with nuts, dried apricots, prunes etc yogurts - natural and with fruits. At least 3 types of cheese + sliced bacon, meat, ham, omelette with hot bacon, sweet corn. Different types of coffee in coffee-machine, tea: black green fruit, juice:apple and orange + various baked goods: muffines, croissants, pies + berry and chocolate jams. Fuits!: apples, oranges, kiwi, melon. So if you have such a breakfast, you can travel around the city with easily till the evening meal for sure, maybe with a little lunch during the day)) We stayed in quite nice and modern room - windows on a small street, maybe for someone a little bit tiny but it`s enough space for 2 people especially we only slept there. Bathroom is veryyyyy good clean and modern, shower is strong and everytime has hot water, there are all bath accessories which you can need... but only 1 tooth brush for 2 people))) Slippers - but if you want be sure you`l have it in your room write on reception in advanced.Plazma TV - practically all channels are italian: 1 spanish+1 german. Wi-fi in lobby and in rooms. Very friendly responsive sympathetic pleasant responsible staff !!! - ready to help everytime and in everything. Can be little bit fresh in the morning but there is a blanket in the wardrobe. Be careful during taking a shower some water always go out of shower cubicle - its place near and under the radiator - in case you put someting to dry. Also its little bit uncomfortbale light in the room especially for women - make up))

As plus was a very good situation of the hotel not far from the main cities architectural pleasures not so far from Termini, that was so useful. We had windows to the yard so it was quiet enough to sleep well. This district is full of nice and suitable cafes that has a good prices. U can get metro station so fast in this area.

Very close to the train station. Excellent staff. Room was very clean. Good view. Room 506 small. We were traveling with just carry on luggage and it was so tight that if we had larger bags that we would not have been able to walk in the room.

We were digging and delving for the hotel and Domus Aurea left all others (at the same price range) behind. It has a perfect location - 1 block away from the central railway station Termini - which allowed us to walk to the hotel even with a heavy luggage as well as it was easy to get to all Rome attractions by foot. Interrior of the hotel in general and our room in particular is new, shiny and well cared of (the room was good cleaned every day). Breakfast terrase is a lovely place to start a day and breakfast is very decent - several kinds of cheese and meat, scrambeled eggs, lots of sweets, bread and fruits, not to mention yogurts and jams. Really free WiFi in the room allowed even to watch online movies. And of course personnel - very friendly and helpful. Special appreciation to Antonio who arranged my husband's birthday. The downsides of our stay are so tiny comparing to the values of the hotel. But leaking shower cabin and ventilation absence might be mentioned in this respect.

The rooftop breakfast room of Eurostars Domus Aurea overlooked Rome in the direction of Piazza de la Republica. As a result of our curiosity about these rooftops, we found an amazingly beautiful church, Santa Maria degli Angeli, which the pope had commissioned Michelangelo to design in a part of the Baths of Diocletian. And the breakfast was delicious!

The staff were absolutely fantastic. Reception was friendly and helpful. I was allowed to leave my luggage before check-in and after check-out. They gave me maps of the area and advice on sightseeing tours. Breakfast was delicious (especially the apricot tart! mmm). My room was extremely clean. Bathroom was immaculate and water was hot -- a real plus after a day of sightseeing. The location was very close to the train station and the sightseeing buses -- I suggest asking for good directions before leaving the train station, though, as it can be difficult to get oriented in the right direction. The bed, if a little hard, had clean linens and after a day of walking around Rome, this was the perfect place to come back to and drop my worries.

Very convenient for Termini station and for getting around Rome. Hotel staff extremely welcoming, pleasant and helpful. I asked to have our room changed and this was done quickly and without me being made to feel a nuisance. Breakfast on the roof was a lovely way to start the day! Although the area is handy it is a little bit seedy, although we did not feel unsafe. The original room we were given had little natural light and we found that a bit depressing, although the decor and state of cleanliness were more than acceptable. However staff were very quick to offer us an alternative room.

Breakfast was very good and good value for money. Situated not too far from Rome city centre. Reasonable sized air conditioned room with mini bar and good en-suite facilities. Really need to turn the music down at beakfast - deafening if you had a table next to the speaker!

“The hotel is in an excellent location. It is less than a 10 minute walk from the main (Termini) train station and the Metro station. The staff was very helpful offering advice on local restaurants(try Cotto's) and directions to all the sights . We walked to the Coloseum in 15 minutes. Rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were large and tiled. Breakfast was very nice with assorted pastries, cereals, juices, meats, boiled eggs, etc. They even went the extra mile and called a cab to the airport for us. Location, location, location. ” James, Indian Land |
