Fantastic location. Rooms were clean. Breakfast ok, not amazing but typical for a North Italian hotel. Very kind and helpful staff that gave me excellent tips for restaurants.
The communal bathrooms were clean but very old and I was not feeling good about using them. My room on third floor was also very old, it would need some refurbishment. I saw some rooms on the second floor and they looked much better. The radiator in my room was extremely old (70's??) and loud.
Very close to San Marco. Canal view. Clean. The cheapest place i could find, that was close to San Marco, and had private rooms (two person). The staff is friendly and helpful.
The rooms don't have bathroom, there is one on the staircase. The breakfast could be better.
Almost everything. It is a very nice place run by the family.
One night one of the rooms was not prepared correctly and we discovered it very late at night. It was a problem for us.
Albergo Doni has seen better days, but my bed was comfy and the staff were very helpful in lending me gumboots when the high water came!
As this hotel is right beside a canal, its entrance is effected by the high water which comes in the late autumn and winter, so beware!!!
Great location and excellent services
The staff was helpful and nice . Good people .
Breakfast was not it at all . Don't need much in order to improve it just better quality of products , home made jam , bread that test like some thing Italian and one good prosciutto . .
The gondoliers took advantage of the acoustics by singing in the canal outside. Very close to San Marco.
Breakfast was pretty basic.
Location is just amazing, the room was really nice
No wifi in rooms
Location, value (for Venice), staff, other guests.
Wi-fi only in communal areas, shared bathroom, thin walls.
If you dont mind sharing a bathroom this is the place for you. Our double room was large and the staff was very kind. They even mailed me my bathrobe that I forgot! Thanks Doni for a great stay!
excellent location and friendly staff. For Venice, at a very reasonable price.
It's an old canalside building, and it shows. I mean crooked and creaking floorboards,1960's wallpaper and although it's obvious the facilities are kept as clean as possible, one does not easily remove eons of dirt buildup. This place needs renovation.
Really helpful staff. Seems to be a family business. Excellent location and VERY unique ambiance. Clean.
Nothing really! good value for the price.
They lock the entrance hotel in the morning : nobody to open you, you can't go out, there is just a note on the door "Back in 10 minutes" which was eventually 15 min. waiting for someone to open the door at 7:30 am ! Unacceptable at least for security reason !
The position couldn't be better and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The shared bathroom was never a problem, always available. For a one star hotel this is the best.
Breakfast is very basic but fills the needs.
Very helpful staff, location near busy vaporetto stop with multiple routes, good price in a very expensive city. Location is both a blessing and a curse -- central, but blocked by all the tourists around St Mark's.
Bathrooms and showers were shared with several rooms, breakfast was terrible -- it was a bad continental breakfast, with weak coffee and stale buns. In hindsight should have chosen a more out-of-the way location.
Close to st. Marks square Close to major water bus station 24hr check in
Bed was a bit hard The place is old, and as such, makes a lot of noise when moving around, but it was in a quite part of town.
The reception staff are always there and very frindly n helpful, the location is awesome, price is affordable.
Lack of wifi in room.
Location location location
Breakfast was basic enough
We very much enjoyed our stay in this hotel, the equipment of the room was old, but very nice and functional. The room and the shared bathroom were clean at all times. We asked for a room into the backyard which seems to be a bit quieter.
There's nothing we didn't like, everything was fine.
The location is perfect and I have to say that breakfast is not so bad as everyone says. I loved it. Fresh buns, ham, cofee, cocoa, tea, juice, jam, honey, nutella - works for me!
The room was great, it overlooked a Venice canal and most importantly it was in a prime location. We were seconds away from St Mark's square, yet we were on an extremely quiet street. Staff were friendly, shared bathrooms were clean, and mosquito repellent was provided. Breakfast was great for value,
While there was wi/fi access, it was only available in the public rooms, not a very large issue but access in your own room is always nice! The shared bathrooms were not a real problem and they were always clean, however the showers are only located on the 1st and 2nd floor, not a nuisance for us but something to consider,
I liked the location
I didn't like the breakfast and the shower space.
Great location ,helpful staff.
Shared bathroom and toilet for too many guests. The bathroom on our floor was out of action for 24hrs.
Very good location. Handy to everywhere. Lovely and friendly staff, who were very helpful! We also had a fantastic view of vin canal from our room! Overally, lovely stay at Doni's. Will definitely go stay there if we ever visit Venice again!
The toilet flush in the room. .
-Good location for visits to main tourist sites. The hotel is very near the vaporetto stop of San Zaccaria, but it is not very convenient to be reached on foot.
-I would have appreciated a piece of soap. Fortunately I had one with me.
