Still two nuns in the part of the hotel that is still a nunnery. Great building in Trastevere, quiet, clearn and with a superb garden and view from roof terrasse.
Trastevere is a great location. Hotel is beautiful and quiet with a very helpful staff, nice breakfast and beautiful garden.
Very friendly staff, good service, superb localisation for sightseeing and testing local cooking
Historical building, very nicely renovated, great views on the city, very quiet, excellent breakfast and friendly staff
The room was way too hot (26°c) and airconditioning was not on so only way to sleep was to open all windows despite the rain. One window was equipped with a shutter that could not be opened more than a few inches which is a pity as it provided the niciest view on the city
The quiet away from the madding crowds, the pleasant and helpful staff and the unique hotel experience
For a 4 star hotel the bed was very comfortable however the bedding/pillows could use updating
Location, historical building and the GARDEN!
Room walls need a bit of TLC
Most beautiful old convent with amazing views of Rome from roof top terrace and lovely garden. All the staff very friendly and helpful. A joy to stay in this magic place. Touching that it still has a few nuns and a consecrated church. It would be a wonderful place for a wedding.
The only thing it lacks is a resturant, although the breakfasts and light snacks are delicious.
Comfort of the rooms was excellent, good beds. Location is convenient to visit Vatican City and the centre of Rome. Lots of nice bars and restaurants close by
Staff wad inflexible when we (and many other guests) asked to have our breakfast outdoors because the weather was so beautiful. No coffee was served, no cushions on the chairs because 'they received orders'. This was very disappointing and unnecessary because it was only a little extra effort. Housekeeping starts too early in the morning (around 8:30 also in the weekend), producing a lot of noise in the corridors.
Very Unique Hotel and History. Grounds and Hotel main area's are wonderful. Fantastic outdoor area's on the roof and courtyard. The Breakfast covers all requirements and is excellent quality. The Hotel location is perfect for Rome visit and is in the heart of the nightlife.
Rooms a little disappointing in terms of size and cold atmosphere at this time of year (October) I am sure it is much better in the Spring/Summer.
We very much enjoyed our hotel especially the feeling of spending time in a 16th century (refurbished) surrounding. Our room overlooked the beautiful garden - where we had our daily delicious breakfast. The bathroom was small but well appointed and very clean.
Unfortunately there was not enough light to read by in our bedroom. Would have liked another chair in the room. Closet space somewhat limited.
The architecture. The garden. The breakfast. The staff. The room. The service.
The restaurants that we went to in the vicinity were not great, and the service leaved a lot to be desired.
Beautiful and serene hotel..felt like "true Rome". Excellent breakfast!..loved every day we were there!
Good location of the hotel. A pleasant receptionist.
Poor cleanliness of the bathroom and the living room floor.Noisy air conditioning. Not off. Moving to another room at midnight. False alarm at 2 am.
very clean. friendly staff. great breakfast.
Absolutely everything, quietness of location yet near enough to walk to all main attractions, genuinely helpful and cheerful staff, quality of restoration, etc etc etc. Thank you all at VOI Donna Camilla Savelli very much.
Nothing at all, i do realize that some people have mentioned the wifi is not perfect but i had no need for it, and i did see people in the foyer area using it so not a real problem
Clean room and good bed. Pretty courtyard and entry. Helpful staff.
Our room was really tiny with no view. A bit like a cave. I couldn't have stayed any longer than 2 nights. The shower was also uncomfortably small and I'm not a big person. The hot water pipe inside the shower gets scalding hot and could burn you.
Little traffic noise A good breakfast choice The staff were friendly, smiling and very helpful
I could find no significant fault with this hotel
A surprise facility in a somewhat gritty, but popular and increasingly hip Trastevere area of Rome. Fabulous breakfast! Beautiful decor. Terrific staff; helpful and cordial.
Not a big deal, but location is up a fairly long walk uphill, which was a bit daunting after a day of on foot site-seeing.
One word; excellent!
Breakfast, Room, Location great!
Front room location near busy road prevented opening windows.
Wonderful ambience. The staff were very friendly and so helpful. I immediately felt very comfortable despite being on my own.
Noise from the garden persisted until very late in the evening which was really unacceptable considering it was too warm to close the window.
Fantastic walled garden in which to have breakfast in the morning, afternoon tea and pre dinner drinks. Also a wonderful roof terrace that overlooks the whole city; stunning. Recommend you take a drink from the bar up with you rather that pay the (I think) 7 euro a drink extra for a waiter to bring one up for you!
A shame that there was no proper restaurant in the hotel but, that said, the choice within walking distance was excellent.
Everything! The location is great- not so touristy over in this area and there are some great restaurants on the same road. There is a lovely courtyard that breakfast was served in. Would definitely return!
The price of a fanta - €5 for one! Although there is a little shop just down the road so down make that mistake more than once!
The Staff wanted to help me have fun. Restaurants were suggested and the map needed from Roma to Tuscanny was given to us before we began our drive North.
The view from the top floor is amazing. The architecture of the building is beautiful. The garden was lovely.
We sent a total of three letters in advance of our arrival asking for taxi service to the airport upon our departure. We did not receive an answer, and were told by a concierge upon our arrival that the hotel had recently changed their email address so they did not receive our requests. There was no bell-person upon arrival, and the taxi driver finally helped us to unload the luggage, which we then brought inside. The bathroom was very gloomy and dark, the lighting was not appropriate for the location of the room. There was no shower door/curtain, so the floor was soaked after the shower. We used our towels to dry the floor. The lifting mechanism of the trash-bin in the bathroom was broken, so we had to manually lift the lid to use it. Surely the staff had to empty it in the same manner on a daily basis. The walls in the bedroom had multiple unidentified small stains above the head of the bed. Additionally, as we were located near the staff-room where the door was left open, the quality of our sleep was affected. Our overall impression is that there is poor Management. It takes more than clean sheets and artfully arranged toiletries to make a hotel welcoming and comfortable. We are seasoned world travelers, and have never had to write a review such as this. For the money spent we enjoyed the hotel's fabulous features, but for the poor management, we will not stay at the VOI Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel again.
