We got there at 9am on our check in day and they served us a FULL breakfast complete with broiche, cappuccino, yoghurt, jams, nutella, fruits, eggs, bread, juice - and this was even before we checked in. They helped us organize all of our trips, find restaurants and even gave us a lift downtown from where we were getting a boat to Amalfi. We cannot say THANKS enough for how amazing they made our stay.
Nothing - absolutely. Some people may not like the 10-15 minute walk to downtown Positano, but we found it to be a fun, and beautiful walk.
My mother and I stayed at the lovely Donna Guila for 5 nights. We were greeted warmly at the Cafe Gali by Luciano our host. He was so very delightful, as were his mom, Guila, sister and brother. Nothing was ever too much trouble for this kind family. Breakfast at the cafe/bar was simple, with warm croissants, tea/coffee, juice. I believe you could have had ham and cheese toasted sandwich too. We had quite the hike to our room, but when you opened our doors at the end of the day to see that amazing view, you forgot about those 138 steps you just climbed. My 72-year old mom was able to handle the steps without issues, so don't let that be a deterrent from enjoying this unforgettable view. Room was simply decorated, clean and furnished with a fridge. We slept with the doors open to our large balcony, so we didn't waste a minute of that view. Would return without hesitation! Thank you for the fabulous stay in Amalfi!
I could have used better directions how to find the Cafe Gali, which was the meeting point for check in.
Good, reasonably priced accommodation on a great location in the centre of Amalfi, if you are fit enough to climb the 137 steps it takes to get to your room. Donna Giulia is very friendly and even though it was the end of a busy season, served a fine breakfast with some extras.
No wifi in the rooms and restaurant. Even hard to find free wifi in the whole of Amalfi.
Amazone view on the Amalfi Coast line. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Very good parking spaces.
Old rooms. More than 140 steps from the parking Place to the hotel room, no chance for handicaped People!
very helpful staff, be prepared for the stairs if you r coming to amalfi anyway.. hotel owns a coffeeshop right at the bottom of stairs, very convenient to leave luggage or other things..
No wifi. Had to pay by cash at the end of our stay which we were not informed about.
Beautiful view from the balcony, next to the beach, nice staff, good breakfast (in a bar next to the apartment)
you have to take elevator and stairs o get to the apartment (annoying if you have big bags) we didn't have wi-fi! you have to pay in-cash!
- Staff! Everyone was very welcoming and nice! - Little balcony with sea front view
The view is spectacular!
It took us a while to find the address. Maybe very good directions would help.
The view- absolutely breathtaking and literally looked like a painting, I would recommend Donna Guila on this point alone. The location was 5 minute walk to the centre, the port and the bus stop, ideal. Also Great value money, clean and comfortable. Would definitely return to Amalfi and Donna Guila, loved it !
There was no wifi at all in the rooms although we were told it was getting fixed. At first it's a bit hard to find as there is no access with cars and there is around 150 steps from street level, so if you struggle with steps I wouldn't recommend this. But overall we loved every minute of Donna Guila and Amalfi, definetly returning in the near future !!!
Because of the lack of wi fi we were given a discount. The apartment had a nice sea view and was well-located for Amalfi.
The reception by the staff on arrival was poor - instead of first showing us the apartment and ensuring we were comfortable they went straight into a hard sell (twice) on parking and immediately put us of on the defensive. The apartment was functional rather than attractive. Neutral decor.
You have the best view of amalfi
The only way to get to the place is by walking (lot of stairs)
Everything was good. best respect to Luciano, who help us for our problems. and Fabio helped us for every question. thanks a lot for donna Julia also for wonderful breakfast.
Wifi didnt work, staff was rude and breakfast was only a croissant in a cafe.
The view was amazing! You couldn't ask for a better one. The caretakers were friendly and accommodating with our needs. The location was very close to the town center. The room was clean.A complimentary breakfast of croissants and coffee was available a a coffee shop downstairs; simple but sufficient. I would highly recommend this lodging for the location and views.
There are many many steps to take to get to the room, but I believe that's characteristic of many rooms in the area (the view makes it worthwhile, however). There is a public elevator you can take, but it is available for limited hours and you pay to use it (we just took the steps every time). No wifi in the room.
the view was amazing
The location and view were the best. Luciano and Agostinno and their mother were friendly and welcoming. A great Amalfi experience, including the steps.
Closeness to town
Room was not serviced each day Poor pillows Found rubbish under bed No signage highlighting hotel (local taxi driver found it by asking locals) Wi fi was not available
View from bedroom, staff were wonderful, rooms cleaned daily and spotless. Staff at breakfast were wonderful too
The steps up to the rooms
The view is amazing! Possibly the best view you will get on a budget room! The staff were very helpful and didn't mind taking time out of there day to show us around. The room was very clean, the bed was remade and we had fresh towels everyday. The cafe were you have breakfast the staff were very welcoming also.
There isn't any wifi in the room, which was a little annoying but there are plenty of cafés around town that have free wifi. Also check in was a little odd as there no reception we were simply just waiting for someone to come and open the door.
Great views, walking distance to city center, very kind people.
The room is somehow small, the quality of the wifi signal is extremely poor and the place is very hard to find... In fact, this is not a proper hotel! We spent half an hour knocking at the door and nobody attended us. We asked in the town and the responsible of the hotel is the guy in the bar. Regarding the parking, I paid 56€ per 1 day...
Although I have qualified that the wifi was not good, it is because it had crashed. We were able to use wifi free in town through arrangements they made for us with an agency. Breakfast was coffee and a croissant at the local cafe. Good, but not a substantial meal.althought there are 149 steps to the unit, do not let that deter you. I am older and overweight and had no trouble with the stairs.
It was great staying there: very friendly staff, a nice and clean room with a incredible ocean view. Thank you very much!
My partner and I felt so lucky to stay here. Luciano is so lovely and was very helpful with anything you need. Luciano's mum, Julia is such a sweet lady and she is there each morning getting you toasties, croissants, orange juice, coffee. There is the bar and cafe downstairs which is great fun at night. Nice to sit and listen to music and people watch. The location is great as its only a short walk from the cafe down to the bus stop or pier. The main square is just around the corner and have some great places to eat. Best of all, our room had the most amazing sea view and a nice verandah to go out sit to enjoy it. Everything is the room was great. Daily room cleaning and fresh towels each day. Even though the room was up many steps, it was so worth it and I would recommend this place to anyone!! :) :) We made some great new friends staying here.
No wifi. Passport is kept during your stay- don't worry, they are kept safe and you get them back when you check out. Be aware that the room is up about 140 steps... The room & amazing sea view is worth it though!! :)
This is a hidden Jewel in Amalfi!!! This Bed and Breakfast delivers an very comfortable room with probably the most fantastic view on the coast. Absolutely stunning... It's true that their is a flight of stairs to get up. But that's what Amalfi is about. It's worth it! Throughout my stay, I felt completely enchanted. The staff was so friendly, helpful and great. Make me feel almost like you family, the real Italian hospitality and experience. The room was fine and clean. The location, perfect. The morning cappuccino at caffe Gali added a special touch. Thumbs up. This is not an Americanized B&B but a great Amalfian experience.
The steps to get to the B&B. However, it's worth it, to wake up to the most picturesque view ever, that is in the day or with the moonlight.
