Hotel Du Lac Menaggio  

Location was excellent! Lake front on Cuomo. Our corner room had two veiws of the lake. 5 minute walk to bus stop or ferry. Train was hard to get to. You have to use the ferry. A better way to Milan from Meaggio is take the bus to Cuomo .Train from Cuomo to Milan.Hotel is located on the corner of the town square. Added great bonus is the roof top terrace dont miss it !

We booked two rooms, but when we got to hotel they only had one room for us.... They wanted to put my mother in law in the one room with me and my wife...no go. The hotel desk was no help at all. So I went to the hotel across the street and lucked out and got her a room. Went back to hotel Du Lac clerk said good news we had a cancellation now you can have the two rooms! He did call the other hotel and cancelled that room. A stressful mess. The real problem is the 10 rooms are above the resturant. The desk clerk is also the bartender/caretaker of the resturant. Also no free breakfest...they wanted 10 Euros so we did not eat there. Last but not least.. We asked for a important wake up call to catch a bus then train...no call, If my cell phone alarm didn"t work our day would have been ruined.

Excellant lake view. Very clean room,towels and sheets changed daily. Staff always pleasant.

We enjoyed the lakeside location and view.

Few facilities and parking is separate from the hotel and there is an extra charge.

Well situated, right on the lake, beautiful views from the window, great terrace on roof to unwind at end of day

Great location - we had a great view of Lake Como from our room. Very central to all restaurants and bars - lots of buzz from the centre square. Close enough to walk to the ferry but far enough not be disturbed by queues of tourists and ferry noise.

Just be aware that you may be woken up around 7:30am to the sound of a very loud leafblower - this doesn't have anything to do with the hotel itself and the staff did mention that they have raised this with the council but no action taken.

Wonderful location right on the lake, as well as in the center of town. Quiet.

Large, attractive,spotless, comfortable room with terrific mattress. Enjoyed view of the lake and the main square in our very quiet room. Excellent value and helpful staff. Very well located for bus transportation as well as ferries.

the situation of hotel on lakeside, staff place just the whole package

Per S.Silvestro mia figlia ha prenotato, una doppia presso l’Hotel Du Lac di Menaggio per un costo di € 125,00. Successivamente mi sono unita a lei e durante il viaggio abbiamo contattato l’albergo per sapere la disponibilità di una singola per me e il relativo costo, l’impiegata è apparsa incerta e dubbiosa e ha buttato lì un € 92,00. Alla nostra sorpresa sulla sproporzione rispetto alla doppia, ci ha invitato a ritelefonare per chiedere al proprietario. Detto, fatto ma è risultato sempre assente, e in una delle chiamate, la stessa o altra persona, sempre ambigua, addirittura ha ipotizzato € 120,00! Ma che c’è un’aliena alla reception dell’albergo? (Solo alla fine abbiamo capito che “gatta ci covava”!). Giunti a destinazione – verso la mezza – lui ancora non c’era. Noi, continuando ad ignorare, ma confidando in una spesa realistica, prendavamo possesso delle due stanze e subito dopo uscivamo a goderci la gita.In prima serata, tornando, finalmente incontriamo il “padrone di casa” che raddoppia e per la singola chiede (udite, udite): € 125,00, come la doppia! E alle nostre doglianze e proteste per lo squilibrio e le precedenti informazioni forniteci dal suo personale, lui si limita a dire: “indagherò e adotterò gli opportuni provvedimenti” (riferendosi ai suoi alienodipendenti). Intanto si è fatto tardi per cercare un'altra sistemazione Per di più, quasi a giustificare il favore fattoci ad ospitarci, millanta la piena occupazione delle 10 camere ma quando gli facciamo osservare che il nostro bagno . .. puzza è costretto a trasferirci in una delle 5 stanze vuote! Tra l’altro, relativamente alla categoria dell’albergo, il prezzo non è certo economico e non è nemmeno prevista una sia pur minima colazione mattutina (€ 10,00). e osa pure chiederci € 10,00 (che non gli diamo) per il parcheggio dell’auto per una notte!!! Tale è la nostra esperienza con questo albergatore furbetto e scorretto al quale faremo gran pubblicità negativa.

La posizione centrale in Menaggio è ottima, belle camere e bagni con vista sul lago di Como. Ci torneremo l'anno prossimo.Fabrizio Tozzi

Cet hôtel est idéalement situé en plein centre de Menaggio proche de l'embarcadère pour les bateaux sur le Lac de Côme. Restaurants et cafés à proximité.

Trois réserves: la reception partagée avec le café et intermittente ( nous avons du attendre une quinzaine de minutes pour le départ car il n'y avait personne à la réception le parking ( payant!!! ) qui ne jouxte pas l'hôtel et de plus exigu le petit déjeuner sans grand choix
