Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience at the Duca d'Alba Hotel in Rome. We found the hotel to be very nice, however the front desk staff were at best apathetic and at worst belligerent and actively hostile. Upon arrival, we were instructed to park our car in an adjoining parking lot near the hotel. Upon being directed to the garage and instructed to tell them that we were staying at the hotel that it will be "taken care of" by the front desk clerk, I was happy to move my car having already found a nearby location. The following morning, we were charged an additional 35Euros for overnight parking; a charge which at no time had been expressed to us by either the front desk, or the garage attendant. While it is understandable that hotel's charge for additional parking, I would have expected to have been explicitly told about the charge and not be mislead that the parking facility was free of charge. When I brought this issue up with the front desk the following morning as I was paying my room bill the attendant got extremely hostile with us and was insulting for having brought up the issue. This experience on the whole was extremely poor for a hotel that calls itself Four Star, and I intend to complain to management about it. Additionally, I am actively not recommending this hotel on additional mediums that list this hotel.

This hotel is very nice atomosphere and hospitality, so we really enjoyed to stay. We stayed on 1st floor and noise from other room did not bothered us at all, even though we worried about before check-in. (We stayed at corner room) This hotel is located close to historical area, so we could walk around many ruins in Rome.

The position was excellent. Three minutes to Forum, 1 minute to subway, walking distince to airport trains and buses. It was also a wonderful neighbourhood with plenty of bars and resturants with more locals eating there than tourists! Rome was a little small and dark

The hotel is located in a small street close to the Colosseum. There are small local restaurants and shops close to the hotel and a genuine Rome atmosphere. It is also located very close to a metro station, only one stop from the Termini main train station of Rome The room in the hotel "annex" was small

Boutique feel, charming newly renovated room, very nice staff, great surroundings, convenient location... a good and quiet retreat after a full day strolling the streets, at a 10-15min walk from both historical center and tevere.

We spent two nights at this lovely, small hotel and loved it! The staff was wonderful and warm, the room was quite small but spotless and elegant with a very comfortable bed and fine cotton sheets. Best of all, it was extremely quiet. Amazing, considering that we were only two blocks from the Colisseum. Wonderful breakfast in a lovely dining area and free wifi in the room. We will definitely return!

The location is very close to visit the old prt of the city and the archeological sites. The staff is friendly. The room was very small and the street is very noisy at night because of the bars in front of the hotel. The fitness spa was not open.

It's in the very center of the city,10 min max to any sightseeing. A lot of interesting restaurants, bars and cafes around it. You shouldn't find other places for shopping-everything is near!! I 've never seen my neighbours. There are strange rules in the hotel: you can't invite your friends for night or you have to give their documents to the reception. Believe me,it's not cool if you're a young pretty girl and have come to Rome for weekend)) TV didn't work, fortunately I didn't have time to watch it.

Clean and comfortable. Rooms are small but very well designed. Lots of charm but not at all fussy. The neighborhood is the absolute best for local color and welcoming atmosphere. Lots of great restaurants and shops and services. Just the right mix of guests and residents and it is easy to walk to the colousium and the forum. I will always want to stay here when I go to Rome.

Pleased with the overall stay, location is great if you want to be in the heart of old town Rome. We had a room separate from the Hotel, Annexe opposite to the Main Entrance. Didn't really feel like we were in a Hotel. Try to get top floor as it can be noisy from above. The Staff were great and the Breakfast so so. Close to Bars and Restaurants. Noise from rooms above and entrance to room outside of the Hotel.

Location, hotel staff, comfortable rooms, were all excellent. It would have been better to have a lift to carry our luggage down. There was also a bit of sound coming from the floor above.
