This is a very good hotel for short-stay visits to Venice, the rooms are quite small, but well furnished and clean. The air conditioning system worked well and was a real plus. Favaro is both easy to get to from the airport (Bus #45) and to Venice (Bus #19). The tobacco shop across the street from Hotel Ducale sells bus tickets. The neighbourhood is quiet and has all of the conveniences (supermarket, pharmacy, restaurant, wine bar). I enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms were rather small (not a resort hotel) and not well sound- proofed. However, neither played a factor in getting a good night's sleep.

Anna at the front desk was incredibly helpful! She speaks English very well and helped us with bus directions to Venice and finding a specific bridge we were looking for. Asia was our waitress for dinner two evenings, and she speaks Polish, Italian and a little English as well. The pizza is fantastic here -- doesn't matter which one you get. Be sure to try the tartufo dessert, too, Yummy! Breakfast buffet had everything you'd want: hard-boiled eggs, meats, cheese, fresh croissants, canned fruit, various breads and desserts, yogurt, juices, all sorts of coffee and delicious hot chocolate, too. Located at the crossroads of the two bus lines...one to/from the airport and one to/from Venice. We're fairly flexible with bed comfort in hotels, but the beds here were not comfortable to us. Fortunately, there were two blankets available in the room that we placed between the mattress and the fitted sheet to provide a little more cushion. That made the difference!

Fantastic location for Venice without staying in city center itself. Very good value with transport to city right on the hotel doorstep.

Close to the airport with a shuttle service. Staff were very friendly and even though we had a very early start the next morning, they were very accomodating. Rooms are small and basic but suited our purpose very well. Easily accessed by public transit. We arrived on a Sunday and unfortunately, as it is more of a residential area, there were no restaurants open for dinner and we had to go back into Venice.

Close to the Marco Polo airport. After getting off the bus (at Pastrellos stop) it's just a minute walk away & you see the hotel from there straight away. The service staff are courteous and kind. I also liked my spacious room and bathroom facilities. The pizza/beer ordered in the hotel restaurant was delicious. I happened to depart on a day which was an italian 'holiday' so certain buses were not running from Piazzale Roma (Venice) to the hotel. However, after phoning the hotel directly, 'Reception' gave me good, concise instructions of what I shouild do to reach the hotel - which buses to take from the bus station (at Piazza Roma).

Close to Marco Polo airport. Friendly staff who spoke very good English. Kind, helpful manner. The bedroom was wonderful... Very spacious. Dinner was only served till only10pm & (at the time I arrived, ie 9.50pm) only "pizza" and a drink couyld be served to me. As I didn't want to bother them, I asked for info re a good local restaurant. They advised me of one (about 10 mihs walk away; 'Dal Piero'). Very fine. It would have helped me to have received a tourist map of Venice when I arrived (en-route TO Venice). A nice gesture for those who are YET to see the city. The walls of the room I stayed in (on my 2nd visit) were so - thin - that I could hear activity in the bathroom next door - eg; shower water running. It was not a big problem however. I think the lighting in the dining area is FAR TOO BRIGHT.. (so many lights switched on). Not very relaxing. The MENU was hard to read... I suggest a very different design. The hotel room had a MENU on the dressing table but no other literature inside my room. No information about visiting Venice. No information either on HOW to ise the phone, (whether to dial reception or abroad... no charge listing). A lack of information.

Very good value for money (booked ahead of time), clean room, excellent breakfast, helpful staff, close to the bus station into Venice (takes 15-20 minutes to get into the city) Very small room, fairly empty city (Favaro Veneto) after 6-7 pm, so if you need some suplies for the evening, get them before 7pm

Convenient (from airport) to locate and some parking for other foreigners to the area to find and pick me up. A short sentence or 2 describing better how to get to you by the 45 bus on your website. They alternate their route and I missed this point so a delay for me at the bus terminus . Also how to pay on the bus?? OR what a taxi typically costs. Perhaps a guide page in the room or website to describe items of interest with walking distance eg the snack bar, items of local interest,

Friendly staff, shuttle service to the airport. On the down side the room smelt of sewage and there was a very noisy plate on the road outside the window that made a lot of noise when cars drove over it.

The location is perfect – just outside the hotel is the bus stop of N 19 to Venice Piazzalle Roma. The bus is on every 15 min, but check the timetable for the right time. Near the hotel there is a restaurant with nice cuisine. The stuff is perfect and helpful. We are so grateful to them for our pleasant vacation.

The location is comfortable due to its vicinity to the airport (which was actually the reason we stayed there, as we had to catch a plain the following morning). It's also just a short bus trip away from Venice. The transfer service to the airport was fairly priced - 10 euros. The breakfast was decent and there was parking space available. The building is located at crossroads and we received a room that was in the corner of the building. With 2 windows in different walls, it was facing not just 1, but 2 streets with busy traffic. This combined with bad insulation and windows that did not stop the wind (let alone the traffic sounds) resulted in the room being noisy and cold. I guess it would have still been possible to sleep well if the blanket had been in a blanketcase and somewhat more comfortable, but with the classic Italian- style envelope system bed linen the overall result was a rather sleepless night.

All in all the hotel was very good. The staff are friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much. Will defiantly consider coming back. The showers are a bit small. I would remove the bete and do a bigger shower cubicle.

“The location was great, right in the square with choice of eating places and shopping. Bus stop and train station within walking distance to get into Venice. Breakfast was great. The highlight though was Guiseppe on the front counter, he was always so friendly and helpful. My daughter had swollen ankles after a long haul flight and he rang a Doctor for us and then organised a taxi to the hospital. He could not have done more to help us. Highly reccommended :)” Shari, North Hobart |
