Hotel Ducale is very well located - from Marco Polo airport you can reach it by bus 45 in 15 min, the buses to Venezia Piazzale Roma stop 50 m away and pass every 20-30 min. The last bus is at 22:30h, but the night route passes there too. It is an excellent hotel if you want to visit Venezia for several days and want to stay away from tourists and pay a reasonable price. The breakfast is very good, the staff is friendly and very helpful, speaks English and some French. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Convenient for access by public transport from both Venice Piazzale Roma and Mestre Station. Staff very friendly and willing to help with any queries or questions about local facilities. Only 1 local trattoria which gives good value for money but for those wanting to stay longer would recommend eating in Venice or elsewhere before returning to the hotel if they would like a variety of eating experiences.

This is a very good hotel for short-stay visits to Venice, the rooms are quite small, but well furnished and clean. The air conditioning system worked well and was a real plus. Favaro is both easy to get to from the airport (Bus #45) and to Venice (Bus #19). The tobacco shop across the street from Hotel Ducale sells bus tickets. The neighbourhood is quiet and has all of the conveniences (supermarket, pharmacy, restaurant, wine bar). I enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms were rather small (not a resort hotel) and not well sound- proofed. However, neither played a factor in getting a good night's sleep.

Good for visiting Venice, Padova, Verona, also lago di Garda wich is magnificent, beach in Lido di Jesolo is about 30 km away. Breakfast is very good, friendly staff in the dining room, bus station is in front of the hotel Small parking. One thing we did not like at all: We stayed for 12 nights. On the 4. day our bank called us and said that hotel tried to charge our credit card for all 12 nights. Because we did not have enough money on that card they charged only for one night and did not say anything. We were not in the mood to argue. We paid the difference on checkout, 12. day. It was the first time for us that hotel does not wait the checkout to charge.

The hotel was easy to get to, right along the tram route. The hotel was eco friendly, using key cards to turn on the electricity for the ac only while in the room. The breakfast was fantastic! The shower in the bathroom was very small... I am tall and when I had to get the shampoo bottle from the floor, I had to open the shower door to be able to bend down to pick it up. Also, the "free" shuttle did not start until 9 (which was advertised) however when I asked the price for a 4:00am shuttle, I was at first told 20 Euros, and then when I went to pay it was 30 Euros, which was expensive for a 5km drive. I would still stay there again.

Small and cosy, very friendly and helpful staff. We were happy about the free shuttlebus service to the airport. The location of the hotel was great, near the airport but alsonot far away from the Venice city. We took the local bus to the city ( about20min) and back to the hotel. It was nice and more practical to have accommondation outside the main tourist area. Good breakfastbuffet. We had a nice stay:)

Stayed here as close to the airport after late flight. It was perfect for the 3 of us to come and crash. Great breakfast buffet. Drinking with locals in bar down the road was fun. Very limited parking but can park for free nearby in supermarket car park.

The rooms was so tiny and it has a small window so it looked like a cell. The bed was disturbing and I saw a bug going around on the floor. The other customers was so loudy that I couldnt sleep so I called resepcion to take care of it but nobody opened the phone. There was no towel on the bathroom and the bathroom was also so tiny.

The bathroom was large (although the shower was the small cubicle type). The hotel is near the bus stop. It had a window we could open. The hotel is very basic. The price vs location and value was poor. For the price we paid I would have expected a nicer and larger room. The location was also a bit further from the airport than I thought. There was a Marriott that was much closer and is probably around the same price. The pictures of the hotel are accurate but a bit misleading since they are taken from choice angles (I know other hotels do the same).

Great experience altogether, location is great, the staff are friendly and approachable, clean rooms, good food. Our Italian is really poor so we didn't get to speak to such wonderful people, just smile. I think it was the owner/manager himself who even drove us to the airport at early hours in the morning, we wanted to say how we greatly appreciate him getting up that early to take us. Will definitely go back and stay there again but will learn Italian so we can express our gratitude for their efforts next time. A million grazie to Hotel Ducale!

The hotel is ideally located if you come to Venice by car because it has free parking where you can leave your car and then take public transport (bus stop is just a few meters away) to Venice. Otherwise, parking in Venice centre is very expensive.

We were told free transport to the airport, but the driver once he had taken us there, told us it was 15Euro. No minibar in the room, so we had no water to drink. Tried to drink the tap water, it was very brackish / salty, we were both very sick for two days afterwards. Had breakfast, it was the most revolting coffee we have ever had, and the food wasn't much better. Staff were friendly enough, and the room was ok, except for the lack of a fridge.

Easy access to Venice via city bus 19. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood. The included breakfast is a very nice spread. They recommended a good restaurant (pizza house Da Piero) for dinner. The taxi the hotel arranged for us to take to the airport at 4:45 a.m. on Easter Sunday was priced fairly and the man showed up as promised. Our room was tiny. The hotel made no effort to put us and our traveling companions near one another. Housekeeping neglected to provide soap and drinking cups and a pillowcase on a pillow. The walls between rooms are thin. None of these is a major negative.

Website indicated free shuttle to airport. Found out that is only true after 9:00AM. We had a 6:30AM flight and had to pay 30 euros for an 8 minute ride to the airport. The only reason we chose this hotel was because of the free shuttle. Very dissappointed.

We had a number of problems with the hotel shuttle service. The shuttle service only goes from the hotel to the airport; it does not pick up at the hotel--which is not what was advertised. We also learned that the hotel shuttle did not operate on Sundays--which is not what was advertised. We also received poor direction on how to take the bus and get bus tickets to get to the airport in the absence of the hotel shuttle. The single reason for staying at the hotel was the location and hotel shuttle. The hotel shuttle and staff failed us.

The location is comfortable due to its vicinity to the airport (which was actually the reason we stayed there, as we had to catch a plain the following morning). It's also just a short bus trip away from Venice. The transfer service to the airport was fairly priced - 10 euros. The breakfast was decent and there was parking space available. The building is located at crossroads and we received a room that was in the corner of the building. With 2 windows in different walls, it was facing not just 1, but 2 streets with busy traffic. This combined with bad insulation and windows that did not stop the wind (let alone the traffic sounds) resulted in the room being noisy and cold. I guess it would have still been possible to sleep well if the blanket had been in a blanketcase and somewhat more comfortable, but with the classic Italian- style envelope system bed linen the overall result was a rather sleepless night.

All in all the hotel was very good. The staff are friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much. Will defiantly consider coming back. The showers are a bit small. I would remove the bete and do a bigger shower cubicle.
