Very good,
Score from 159 reviews
Set within a 12th-century mansion, the hotel is in the historic center of Siena, near the cathedral and Piazza del Campo, and boasts spectacular views of the surrounding Sienese Hills. Restored on the old foundations in 1726, with the façade in the Renaissance style, the hotel has completely refurbished in order to offer a fusion of modern comforts and historic surroundings, with some traces of the past still visible in the wooden beams and the brickwork in the breakfast room. On the terrace, above the Sienese roofs, you can enjoy total relaxation, immersed in the romantic atmosphere of the Medieval town, in Tuscany, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the building, along with free parking for bikes. Hotel Rooms: 20 Most recent booking for this hotel was today at 06:16 from Australia.

The location is fantastic. The view from our window was stunning. There is a fabulous rooftop terrace which we loved. Hated handing off our key each time we left. One time we returned and no one was there for quite awhile, to give us our key. Meanwhile, the room keys were left unattended.

Our aim was to experience the city of Siena in particular its architecture, food and culture. The Hotel is ideally suited as the location within the city walls is within easy walking distance of the all that we wanted to see and do. Our room (52) had a glorious view of the Duomo and the Mangia Tower, but we did have to climb stairs to get to it as the lift only goes to the first floor! Throughout our stay we found all members of staff to be unfailingly helpful and genuinely intererested in us as guests. They provided recommendations and local tips to make our Spring holiday as rewarding as we could have asked for.

The location was near the center of the old city and was very convenient to the sights. The staff was very cordial and willing to give good dining recommendations. They were attentive in getting the car parked and retrieved when we needed it.

Great location for exploring Siena. Staff were helpful and good breakfast. Asked for and received room with beautiful view. Our stay was in winter and the room heating was set very high with no individual controls.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel was clean and neat. The rooms are especially good for those with allergies because there is no carpet in the room. There were lots of choices for breakfast (European-style). The mattresses and pillows were not very comfortable. The coffee was terrible.

This was the jewel in the crown staying at The Duomo after some traumatic travel experiences in Italy. The building has such historical significance and this has not been jeopodised in the conversion to a hotel. To slip through the French doors of my room, onto the intimate balcony, with the unsurpassed view of the Duomo, Tower of il Campano, the twinkling lights of the city and the verdant garden below, to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day was very special. The Chiming of the cathedral bells from 9am to 6 pm was a realization of the religious presence here in SIena without being overwhelming. Shopping was fabulous with every thing so close at hand. The quant cobbled streets that meandered into mystery places added such charm. It is such a friendly city where the tourist is made to feel at home. The breakfast provided was substantial in comparison to what is usually on offer. Every staff member at The Duomo made you feel special and nothing was too much of an effort. The Internet (wifi) needs to be improved as I could not access during my stay there. I do believe that there is a problem within the hotel as this was the one and only time that I have encountered problems in my 2 months of travel. One other guest agreed as he was logged into some neighbor nearby whilst trying to connect.
