Located just 215 yards from Santa Maria Novella Station, the Hotel Montreal provides attentive service in a central location. It has free Wi-Fi and air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen satellite TV....

Staff was very helpful and welcoming. She pointed us the main sites to see. Hotel is very near to the train station and other sites. Clean towels and toiletries provided.
AC could have been a bit more powerful. There was no kettle provided for tea or coffee. Although you could buy drinks from the vending machine. There was a foul smell on the staircase leading up to the hotel. There was no view from the room we stayed.
Clean and extra-wide room+bathroom, close to train station, quiet, good sleeping quality
no receptionist after 4 pm, because of the restaurant below the entrance was smelling bad
Location is good. Easy to travel to the other part of the city
The mattrasses were not good.
location is good, close to everything. air conditioning.
had to check-in at a different hotel (5 mins walk away and not easy to find) and walked back, which was a hassle when you are carrying luggage. staff not available 24 hours at the hotel.
Location Friendly staff Great value for money
The share toilet is small Shower in the room
- Location, close to the train station and most tourist attractions are in walking distance
- wifi reception was really poor - We arrived at 3pm and there was no one in the hotel that we need to go to another hotel to checkin and get the keys
Good location, near the station, really nice passionate receptionist.
Frustrating that you had to go to another hotel to pick up the key.. Could have e-mailed? No staff after 4pm. Bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world..
we requested a double bed, however they gave us two single beds... there is no elevator, and you need to climb many steps...
the receptionist is so warm, the best stuff I've ever met!!!!!
Room No.4 is sooooooooooooooooooo tiny that it's impossible to open 2 luggage at the same time. Oh my, it's so tiny which makes it not comfortable at all.
Stayed 1 night. No frills place with helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Good nights sleep. No complaints.
The lady on reception was great!
We felt it was quite expensive for what it was but is probably comparable to other hotels in Florence
Nice and friendly welcome Nice room Good Price Only 2 min walk to main railway station
During the night it was too noisy outside
Lovely staff in a great location. Large rooms, generally quiet. Excellent base for a city escape.
Beware of the very steep stairs. Air conditioning exists but on a very warm day in late May we were told it wasn't used until Summer. Not good enough.
The fact that you cannot check in in this hotel!!! When my friend and I arrived at the hotel ,the front door was closed and we had to go to another hotel, about 300m away to do the check in! So, if something happens or you need something you have to go back and forth to the other hotel.Unbeleivable!!! Moreover, there is always a really bad smell at the hotel because of all the spicy food cooked by foreigners that live at the other apartments at the same building. When I checked out I was told to leave the keys at the door and so I did.Unfortunately, I forgot my expensive cell phone at a small area, shared by all residents at the hotel, and there was not any way to get in. I called the hotel and told them the problem, that if someone had walked by the room, he could have taken it.The only thing they told me is to wait for the cleaning lady that arrives at 9am!!! They didn't even suggest to send keys with someone or to send someone to open the door for me.
proximity to train station
3rd floor going up is not easy
Staff when available and location
Staff not responsive to resolve an administrative matter in situ. Later resolved by email
no lift poor bathroom
In general hostel is ok. Good localization. Easy to access from train station and all city atractions. Huge and clean although dark room. Nice & helpful stuff
If you want to check in after 4pm you have to do it in other place. Thin walls so you hear water pipes after flashing - noisy
the hostess was amazing and gave us a lot of tips regarding traveling florance. there was a lot of noise outside during the night. great location 3 minut walk from central train station.
The staff will give you a map and show you every place you should visit.
The wifi signal is too weak and therefore almost unusable.
The Staff was very helpful and co-operative
There was no toilet facility in the room and also the room was very small
We changed from another horror hostel to the Elite early in the morning and thank goodness we did. What a difference a few Euro makes. The lady (can't remember her name) is quite possibly the loveliest lady on the planet. She made us feel so welcome. We arrived early so she kept our bags as we went to recover from our horror hostel the night before. There have been some reviews of many stairs and yes, there are so don't stay here if you can't manage stairs well. The room we got was adorable with two single beds and a little wash basin with shower in the corner. Actual toilet was outside the room, not an issue. If you're with friends and don't like being naked, maybe go with a different room. See-through shower and all. The wifi worked and honestly, I loved this place. You get keys and can come and go as you wish. A lovely experience. Not a fancy hotel but right there in the middle, perfect for two travelling friends or a couple.
Nothing! I would stay again in a heartbeat. If not for the room but the lady who made me smile every single time she spoke to us.
Great location. Close to train station and hop-on hop-off tour bus stop. Short walking distance to all major sights - David, Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, Uffizi, and the leather market at San Lorenzo. Brilliant!
Stairs...so many narrow, uneven and steep stairs between the street entrance and my room....very tricky with luggage - but manageable.
