Elvezia  

The staff are very welcoming and helpful. They are keen to please and understand customer service. They really deserve to do well as they all work so hard to make the Elvezia a homely place to stay.

Loved the friendly and extremely helpful staff. In our instance beyond what is expected. The breakfast room is war, friendly and well stocked. Also found the location to be brilliant. On the doorstep of the main place of interest in Baveno (the church), and just a hop from the railway station, the main street and the ferry for Lake Maggiore.

Nothing I didn't like.

Lovely little family run hotel in the center of Baveno a minutes walk form the railway station and the lake front. There is onsite parking which can be a bit tight during busy times as the available space is not massive but if you leave your keys with reception they will move cars when required. Breakfast is good for the price with a good mix of the usual cheese, meat, yogurt, bread, etc. Baveno itself if a small town with 4 or 5 good restaurants (2 being excellent) and several bars. The train service is cheap and efficient if not quite as regular as you would like. Easy to get to Milan without a change required.

Easy access to lake boats. Parking on-site (only for 5 or 6 cars).

There was no heat and the room was cold. There was no television or Internet in the room.

The two staff members I've met were friendly, helpful, and spoke rather good English. The hotel is between the railway station and the port, three minutes from each, you can't get lost (but the map here is wrong, the hotel is on the southern side of Via Monte Grappa, but the street signs make it clear). Although the railway and a bell tower is near, neither was disturbing. Breakfast is quite OK for 5 EUR. The room was clean, only the wall color was slightly odd at first. The room with the External Private Bathroom is very budget friendly, and you still have a small basin with a tap in the room.

The walls are thin, almost everything can be heard from the corridor, and if the guests next door leave early in the morning, it can be annoying. At night I could hear a snoring, which turned out to originate from my lower neighbour. The EPB solution is quite clumsy, since it's on a different floor, so be prepared. Your first showering will be frustrating, you have to figure out the small tricks to make it work (bring a plastic bag for your clothes, go without shoes, glasses, and phone). Also, the tap is broken, you can easily get hot or cold water, and if you're patient enough, you can find the tap position to get something in between. Note that if you come without a car, Baveno may not be the best place to stay. Not all trains stop here, the boat is a bit expensive for transportation, and even the bus timetable gets more sparse in the low season. If you want to visit more distant places (Domodossola, Locarno), leaving early is not easy, and returning late is impossible (unless you're ready to pay 35 EUR for a taxi ride from Pallanza). Of course, with a car or a more relaxed schedule, these can be avoided.

The staff is extremly kind, helpful, polite and ready to assist you in descoverying the region. Very, very clean room and everything, nice, rich breakfast included, great position close to the city center and the lake shore, parking lot available, maps and tourist info available.

The bathroom a little bit too small for "larger" people. Maybe a small tv in the room can be included in the price, but didn't really missed that.

The Elvezia is a clean , comfortable hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely with a good variety of food and great value for money.

Size and cleanliness of the room. The helpful lady at reception whose name I didn't get.

Blocked sink and shower tray. Mixer tab was multifunctional, it was either hot or cold. The system with the car park where there were too many cars in a confined place and You have to leave Your car key with the the hotel reception so that they can move back and forth Your car. Someone hit my car during the process. The lady in the reception was good, but there was another guy who was sloppy. The room with the external bathroom, the bathroom was not in the same floor. The outdoor seating area seems to be the permanent place for the hotel cat and on a whole looked rather unhygienic.

Very warm welcome, this sober place is very clean and well place in the middle of Baveno. I definitely recommend this place.

I was afraid about some comment speaking about the train, but it is not very close, and the noise is soft. The wifi is not working very well from the bedrooms.

Despite us arriving after 8pm the staff were friendly and helpful and got us quickly settled in. We were even able to order and enjoy supper at 9pm in the hotel. The breakfasts were good and plentiful. For a group of four travelling on a budget the hotel was perfect. Thank you.

If anything, the only comment we would have is that with the temperatures in the high 30degrees C there was no air conditioner and the fan was put away in the bottom of the cupboard and we did not discover it until the second night.

Charming place, convenient location, very clean, comfortable and very friendly. Good breakfast, modest supper on demand. Much recommended.

Excellent location, great place and more than comfortable. Plenty of car parking and Baveno is a lovely little village with lots of good amenities and restaurants. Hotel Elvezia was clean, tidy and the staff were great. Whilst not luxurious, if you want a pleasant place to sleep and have breakfast before exploring Lake Maggiore then book to stay here.

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Es dauert auch etwas lang, bis heißes Wasser kommt.

Es handelt sich hier um einen kleinen Familienbetrieb, der sich sehr um seine Gäste kümmert.Der Wirt ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit.Das Frühstück für 5€ zusätzlich ist reichlich und gut es wird auch ein leckerer Cappocino dazu angeboten -was bei dem Preis nicht üblich ist.Alles in allem wirklich zu empfehlen.

il bagno era talmente piccolo che per tirarsi su le mutande si doveva aprire la porta scorrevole. Il primo giorno non c'era nemmeno il sapone. Mancava il phon e non c'era la televisione. Alle 23 chiudeva anche il parcheggio.

Ottimo hotel in centro a Baveno, pacheggio pubblico attaccato all'entrata, pulizia effettuata tutti I giorni. L'hotel è gestito da persone molto brave e disponibili ad aiutarti. Se dovessimo tornare a Baveno sicuramente ci ritorneremmo.

Il bagno un pelo piccolo ma comunque sempre pulitissimo!!!
