Despite language limitations (English) you can really feel the staff tried to be as helpful as possible, and you can see the sincerity in the continental breakfast which normally goes with the room - nothing sumptuous but clear efforts there. This hotel is within just 10 minutes leisure walk to the Old City of Como, which in my opinion is often overshadowed by the reputation of the lake. The Old City is worth visiting - not only it is historical but also offers excellent shopping and restaurants. Most hotels within the Old City are necessarily expensive, and so Engadina which is on the fringe of the Old City is a good budget choice for those who spend most of their daytime outdoors anyway exploring - not staying in the hotel. Things are just very basic in the room - a bed, clean shower room, and a TV set. For those who fancy any luxury, it could be a big disappointment. But considering it is a budget hotel I personally have no complaint. Also for those who intend to drive to the hotel, it is not easy to find, as it is partially hidden behind trees and it is a small house among a row of other houses on a main street. As a visitor to the place for the first time, I imagine without the GPS device in the car, I would never be not able to fnd it (unless taxi?) There are however a few parking spaces immediately outside the hotel. |

Great staff and great location. The hotel is a good value and the free parking is a huge plus. Yes, there is road noise, but it wasn't excessive. |

close to the interest points of the city. Nice place for a single night. Good breakfast Small room. For 1 night it's ok, but if it for a longer stay - not recommended. |

Small modest Hotel providing a Clean room and bath. AC worked fine. Friendly and helpful staff. A short walk to 1 of 2 train stations and about a 10 min. walk to Como Center. I would stay there again. JC (USA) |

Almost nothing. I just liked the location, close to the lake and 10 minutes walking from the main square. Breakfast is to basic. Reception employees are not very helpful. Windows don´t block the street noise. |

Very, very friendly people, they helped us so much when our car broke down. Rooms were great, clean and had a balcony. Hotel is very close to city centre and the lake. |

The hotel was very convenient to everything we wanted to do- lake cruise, tour old Como, evening walks, railway station. The hotel staff was very friendly and seemed eager to do what they could to enhance our stay. I thought the guest reviews about the street noise were overblown and in our case were completely inapplicable. The windows were double-glazed and the air conditioning was very comfortable. I would rate this hotel 8.5-9.0 out of 10. We thought the breakfast provided was a little meager and was obviously not prepared in-house but was just prepackaged foods. This, however, did not detract from the other positives mentioned. |

good atmosphere, a typical family owned hotell with all it´s advantages. A very big plus for the good and free of charge internetconection!! Good parking space just outside the hotell also free of charge. We in the center of everything the lakeside the old town, the mercato that we visit and liked very much. |

Engadina is a typical city hotel, rooms are small, breakfast no to bad, internet free but not running well !!.. Car parking was good..place is very central.. good hotel for low expectation.. price was 90 € for double /nightroom .. according to my rank, price can be 70 € !! |

close to everything if you don't have a car. I don't like the fact they want to keep your passport @ reception, I refused but allowed them to have a photocopy to be detroyed on my departure.Please be aware there are 2 train stations in Como, so the distance can be a problem with luggage depending on the train line your on, the local train station is a bit further away(about 20 minutes). |

Hotel well-sited, 15 mins from station, also from ferry terminal. Room pretty basic, but all that we needed, comfortable and QUIET despite major soccer game. Bathroom good, plenty of hot water. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again. Breakfast fairly basic, but then it is described as Continental, not American, so this is fair enough. |
