Hotel Engadina  

Good position, close to the center. Clean. Friendly.

The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the train station and about the same from the ferries on the lake, so it was very convenient. There was also a supermarket nearby and a snack bar downstairs and one building along. It was quiet, the bathroom was quite new and very clean. Breakfast was continental style, with rolls, croissants, juices, yogurts, tea and coffee, which was enough for us. There was a lift and I noticed that the first set of stairs before the lift were wide enough to accommodate a conveyance to take wheelchairs up the first half dozen steps to the reception area where the elevator started. The wifi worked well. There was a high chair for babies in use in the dining area. The chaps at the front desk were helpful.

The bedspread was maybe a bit tired and needed updating, but overall, there was nothing we didn't like. It was value for money.

It's literally 5-10 minutes walk to Como centre, ditto for the station. If driving the hotel has parking available. Friendly helpful staff, nice atmosphere

The stay was enhanced by helpful, friendly staff who were willing to provide useful, local travel information. The Continental Breakfast was comprehensive and freshly prepared.

The hotel is a bit uninviting and looks like an office building. Of particular disapointment was the fact that there was no bar for a weary traveler.

The breakfast is quite poor and the parking very scarce.

Good value for money- very clean

The location - as less able mature people we found the distance to the main part of town difficult to walk. Would not recommend the boat trip we took- it was suggested we buy a Como/Bellagio/Lecco ticket which involved a return from Lecco to Como by bus. We were "abandoned' at the Lecco boat pier and had no idea how to find the bus. There were several others in the same position and we wandered around- asking 5 different people before finding a bus stop - waited nearly an hour before finally getting the bus. Would not recommend this trip to anyone!

Excellent location close to the waterfront and only about five minutes walk from the old city center and Duomo with free parking in front of hotel. Clean, quiet room and very helpful staff.

Typical Italian breakfast with no vegs or fruit.

It's a small but cozy hotel, as can be expected from 3 stars. The staff was very friendly and the free parking is a nice surplus. We had two rooms: the standard double room had limited size and small bathroom (hey, it's only 3 stars), the more expensive one (120 vs. 100 euro/night) is larger with good big-sized bathroom. The hotel is basically situated in a the lesser touristic area, but Como is not big and it only takes 10min walk to reach the 'better' areas.

The bathroom in the standard double room is small; with its door open there is no space to turn, except in the small shower.

Close to centre. Clean and modern hotel. Excellent service. On our last day we had to leave early and the proprietor was up at 6.30 with breakfast ready. We were recommended a restaurant which was closeby but on the other side of the town centre and it was excellent. Lacanda del Borgo on Via Borgovico 34. Andrea is so attentive.

No fault of the hotel but the traffic is horrendous even the small hours of the night. Even with double glazing and a back room the noise was intruding.
