Soggiorno Campos is a 10-minute walk from S.M. Novella Train Station and Florence Cathedral. With wrought iron beds and 19th-century wardrobes, the air-conditioned rooms have an antique feel.

Our window did not close all the way so we had Mosquitos very bad in our room
The staff were very helpful and nice.
Having to use a bedspread instead of a clean blanket. Need light blanket Shower curtain that kept clogging the shower drain Darkness of the colors in the building and room Would prefer linoleum, tile, or wood on the floor. Carpet didn't appear clean Musty smell in the room Not having a key card and having to leave our key at front desk when leaving Hairdryer kept shutting off every couple of minutes when trying to dry my hair
the water was leaking all night as if it was raining. the shower was damaged too
The location was excellent, close to: a scooter-rental place, a bicycle rental place, a fantastic marketplace square (highly recommended... check out EATALY), and the restaurant Zaza, which I also highly recommend. The food there was incredible. The room was spacious, clean, air-conditioned.... simply perfect.
The only drawback was that our room was away from the main desk and the Wi-Fi did not work unless we sat in the lobby. However, this was a trivial issue. Everything else was perfect!
Near centrum and City Market
Sometimes noise from the street
A little bit of a hike to main areas. Room could do with a reno.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is close to the train station and the entertaining central market. The rooms were nice and the air conditioning was a good option for summertime travel. We would return.
The internet did not see to work very well, even though the router was right outside the room.
A few mosquitoes in the room.
Convenient location away from the noise of the city. Easy to walk to all the sights and a few steps away from a good bus stop. Helpful desk persons.
Entry stairs are a bit shabby, however lobby, halls, and rooms are clean.
Central location cheap and cheerful
Noise on street all night
Close to many sites
Be Warned !! Stairs only.
Great location Some staff very helpful Coffee machine in common area Large room
Cramped bathroom Shower curtain was gross Bathroom smelt like urine Wifi did not work No lift, had to carry luggage up to room
Location, friendly staff
Good location. A few blocks away from the heavy tourist areas. Very nice and accommodating staff. Bathroom and rooms were clean.
The WiFi was terrible. We didn't even detect the wireless signal from our room, and had to go down to the lobby to use the WiFi there, and even then it kept on crashing. Coming back to the hotel late at night was a bit annoying because you have to get buzzed in because you leave your key w/ the lobby desk before you leave the hotel. There was always an employee at the desk to buzz you in, but sometimes it took a few minutes as he was usually asleep at night.
The first 3 nights: I stayed in a room on the second floor (the hotel starts at the first floor, keep that in mind if you have problem with multiple ramps of stairs), completely renovated with new furniture and new bathroom, and clean. There were no night noises, a quite comfortable air conditioning system and a big new walk-in shower. If you're alone or have the luck to book/be placed in a room upstairs, go for it, the value for money is really good. Mainly because it's all new.
The other 2 nights I stayed in a room downstairs and it seemed a totally different hotel, yes there was pretty antique furniture and moquette, but the old and really high window was impossible to close (it was more than 2mt tall and really old so the closing system was defective) and it was full of mosquitos, both in and out the room and both alive and smeared on all the walls. Moreover the room was really dusty, probably also due to the moquette, and we had to switch off the AC the first night because we were starting to have allergy-like symptoms (none of us is allergic to dust or pollen though). This allowed the mosquitoes to bite me more than a dozen times during the night, basically I didn't sleep. When I told these problems to the reception they replied that I could've go to them at the desk at 3 AM to ask for a spray and an electric machine (the one that works with small tablets) and that the very same morning they scheduled to put it in all rooms, whereas for the dust they vacuumed again the room apparently (but nothing about smeared mosquitoes). Of course the room was still dusty but at least slightly more livable than before. Huh and don't forget to read the paper on the inner side of the room door that says: "due to complaints from the neighbours the AC could be switched off from 0AM to 7AM", meaning that you "sleep" in a sweat-bath if the weather it's hot and humid like in these days. Last but not least, the drainage of the sink was having some problem: the water was really slow to go down, but I didn't tell them about this problem also because I didn't think they could've do something about it (given also how they dealt with mosquitoes and dust). Basically if you ask beforehand to be placed in a room upstairs and they don't have places anymore there, try to look for another accommodation.
The location and quietness of the hotel, the smart newness of our rooms combine to make an excellent choice we will use again. But probably by walking from the train station. Two flights of steep stairs to the room provided further exercise.
The ZTL Zona Traffico Limitato. We booked a garage along the same road but the routes to get in and out are designed for fines. If you dont know the system you arrive at a sign and there is no way back out from it. Better without a car.
Very old buildings, need renovation. Wifi is fast
No parking. Hotel located in a restricted area, may get a fine if driving a car. Garage is 100 meter away, but driving is 3km area. A construction truck started working at 6am making hugh noise, waking everybody up
Good situated, nice acomodation. Price in historical center was comparable to the other but generally bit expensive. Blisko rynku i wszystkich zabytków.
cleaning of rooms was orginezed from 7:00 am and the noise woke us up,
They've never changed the towels and bad sheets during our stay! The room was dirty. The bad was so old, we had back aches after our stay. İnternet connection was also not working properly. Does not worth the price we paid for that room.
Valentina was welcoming on arrival & so helpful in booking our must see & do museums & tours which took the stress right out of making plans. Staff were on the desk & available at any time. The central market & resturants in the piazza dei mercato centrale were 2 blocks away. Central Florence is an easy flat walk.
It would have been nice to be able to keep milk chilled and to be able to open the bathroom window, but these are minor things. I would happily recommend this hotel.
Well placed in old part of Florence Rooms are ok, nothing special, but given its location it is good value hotel
Close to major sites
