Hotel Ester  

Good location to train station with an elevator. Our room was a good size too- the bathroom looked a bit old but had double sinks. Not luxury but was a safe clean place to stay - we were able to check in early, at 10:00 am. Staff was nice too.

Could be updated , bathroom and floor is old looking. They charge for additional towels - I think this is a europe thing.

Very helpful staff. Located right across from train station. Safe block. Computer/Sat TV in room.

The room was very very small. Not comfortable for two people. Shower was literally on top of the toliet.

Floor - not clean in some place Noise - maybe due to improvement construction, some noise still be heard at night, and the soundproof of room is almost none.

Hotel Ester is well located, near Santa Maria Novella station (with train connections to Pisa airport) and the main bus station (with buses to Siena). Given the historic centre of Florence is small, it's a good location for exploring the Duomo and Uffizi even though they are not on the door step (about a max 30 min walk to Uffizi). The hotel staff was very friendly. The rooms were very clean and I had one with a private bathroom. There is no breakfast but where I stayed, there was a kitchen so you can self cater. It's a very functional hotel and provides good value for money. However I think there are better options in Florence, especially B&Bs that have a more personal touch.

Hotel Ester is a functional place to stay but it doesn't have any character - it's as it says on the tin, a good quality one star hotel. It doesn't have the frills of more expensive hotels, and it lacks the personal touch of a b&B. Where I stayed (across road from reception) backs onto the loading bays of the supermarket next door so there was a lot of noise from 7am everyday as the staff started moving trolleys. It was an effective wake up call whether I wanted it or not! Also, despite visiting in December, the room had mosquitoes in it when I opened the window with the light on at night to air the room.

I stayed in a single room (which was pretty big for a Florence hotel) with a nice bathroom, although most rooms had shared bathrooms. The hotel is a ridiculously short walk away from the central railway station. The hotel is in an old building which shows its age in a lot of ways, but otherwise all the facilities were working as intended. Hot water was hot. Free internet in the room was broadband and reliable.

The hotel could use some polishing overall, but that would probably drive prices up. Given ease of access and facilities such as free internet, I'd say that in its current state it has a fair price/quality ratio.

Location & locaton !! This hotel is very close to the Firenze central station, bus stops, central market.... and I could walk to the Domo within 15 minutes. Perfect .

I think the toilet & bathroom in room (ensuite) should be renovated. It looks old and a bit small. Otherwise, a good value of money, especially the free internet international phone call that I could made at reception, The night shift staff (Aldo) is also very nice & helpful.

they didn't change my towels for three days, bed sheets neither. the room smelt a bit musty maybe because the air conditioner was not clean I think. I even could not open the window because it was all rainy during my stay. (well, that's not the hotel's fault) The worst is the reception. neither friendly nor kind. one of them even cut off my words, not in friendly way such as helping me but that of offending me, I got the feeling that she couldn't bear my english any more. (Remember. you should speak english or italian VERY fluently in front of this hotel's reception)

Old-fashion style hotel with amazing windows(old-fashion style).Mu window was looking to the church. The placement is perfect, 1minute from the train station and 10 minutes from the center.Big room with bright walls. TV, air condition.I had a room with shared bathroom. Bathrooms are cleaned as well.I liked it.I was staying there for 2 days.Fall in love to Florence!

When windows are opened a little bit noisy. I just don't like using air-condition and try to open windows.
