Excellent staff and service with baggage, directions within the city, parking options, and amenities. The rooftop bar and restaurant provided a panoramic view of the city and the seaside surrounding it. We viewed, but did not use the spa facilities, but they looked very clean and inviting. Eating in the nearby Piazza Duomo for dinner was a truly great experience to mingle with the local people and enjoy the culture. Don't pass up this opportunity as a place to stay in Syracusa.

Nice pool and spa. Good breakfast. We were very disappointed by the hotel which is not a 5 stars standard. We payed for a room with sea view for 3 nights and were offered a room with a small window balcony and a bathroom which smelled of sewers. Upon complaining we had to argue for 10 minutes with the receptionist before she changed our room and gave us an adequate room. The bathroom had no bath but a shower with a plastic curtain, more a 2 star hotel than a 5 star. The staff was unfriendly and hurried especially at breakfast. The photos of the hotel on the booking.com site do not correspond to the reality.

A beautiful hotel - extremely elegant and well appointed. Perfect location - probably the best in Ortigia/Syracuse. Rooftop breakfast room/restaurant very scenic. Breakfast varied and very adequate. Cleanliness very good but shower leaked. Ortigia was beautiful. Car parking was much less problematical than I feared - they gave us a permit for the two days we were there Would have welcomed an alternative to a hot duvet

The friendiness of the staff, the site on the historical old Siracusa. The fact that Winston Churchill was in one of the room. The quality of the restaurant and one of the best terrasse of Europe (view).

Nice hotel, but the phonic insulation between rooms was below standard for a hotel of this category. Staff very nice and helpful.

The staff were very helpful, the location is stunning and the bedroom very comfortable. The only complaint I had is that the spa doesn't open until 12.00. I would have liked an early morning swim.

We wanted to be in Ortigia rather than Siracusa so the location was perfect. The hotel is very traditional and oldy worldy but our room 220 was right on the corner with a small balcony on the sea and definitely worth paying the extra for. We arrived with a flat tyre and the receptionist was very helpful is sorting it all out. Sadly didnt have time to try the pool but it looked great. Perfect for a one night stay. Was obviously a one night stop for tour groups and breakfast was a bit of a mass scramble. This does detract a bit from the atmopshere.Parking is also a problem as you can only park outside until 1930pm and then have to park in a very uninviting car park the other side of the island. Also the airconditioning was not working in March and it was too noisy to leave the windows open so was a bit hot in the room.

Vintage architecture and ambiance. The room lacked warmth with it's stark design. Lovely bathroom.

Lovely hotel in the historic part of Syracusa. Pity about the smell from garbage bins right next to the hotel. Parking is a real problem - and you really need a car! Very good hotel staff - but Sicily was "closed" when we went in late February. When it's the off-season, the Sicilians really don't bother. I resented having to pay high price for wifi in the hotel . Most international 4+5 star hotels now give this free as part of the service.

Leisure facilities were excellent, room and view was amazing, our greeting was fantastic on arrival. We had told them on. Advance that it was our honeymoon and they presented us in advance a bottle of prosecco. Just really helpful. Breakfast was good. We ate one night in he restaurant, which was pricey and did not offer everything on the limited menu, but considering it was raining heavy at the time and we did not want to venture out, even that was not a disaster

The staff were brilliant, and the island was amazing! Now one of my favorite places. The hotel was in perfect position overlooking the sea. The atmosphere even in winter was wonderful and would highly recommend it without hesitation. The reception staff went out of there way to help us. We are extremely grateful as it made our stay one we will never forget. Thank you

We got a good price for this hotel, which otherwise is expensive; a good view from our room; hotel well designed and appealing; friendly and helpful staff; wifi worked in the room, and bbc and cnn were available on the tv The large, empty-looking meeting room that we had to pass through when coming & going from our room.

Amazing spirit of a tasteful luxury! Beautiful room with fantastic view to the sea with amazing park of magnolia trees below. In the morning it feels a little bit like in a James Bond movie when the sea breeze blow the white curtain into the open balcony door and behind you see the gliding blue. When you return from breakfast you find small marmalade candies on your snow white made bed... The only minus is that a 5 star spa concept is a little exaggerated...

I was upgraded to a lovely junior suite - and given a parking pass to be able to park anywheev on the island. The roof-top restaurant was very nice (breakfast was just ok) - and I also enjoyed the indoor pool on the ground floor. The view was great, as was the location in the heart of the island. It was rather noisy - since the wiondows face the one main road on the island - busy day and night. Also, the shower was terrible - for some reason they don't beieve in shower curtains. The shower head was fixed at about five feet - and more water splashed on the floor than stayed in the tub. The maids had to mop up a lake each day I was there. And, I was surprised by a charge of $5 to use the computer/internet in the lobby for 10 minutes - and then over $20 for a connection each day from my room. Not quite a 5-star property.

The continous clean smell inside the hotel is wonderful. The bedrooms are charming and high. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. The view is wonderful as well as from the restaurant. I searched in booking by hotels with parking facilities. It happens only with not more than 4 places. All other guests are invited to park in a public parking at 15 minutes walking distance from the hotel.

Relaxed elegance and designed for comfort sums up the hotel. A wonderful ending to 7 - nights exploring Sicily on our honeymoon. Superb location for exploring the car restricted Ortigia and a wonderful retreat after a hectic day sightseeing in Siracusa or countryside towns like Noto. Addressed so many times before, the car park is not at the hotel and they do help you with arranging a taxi to lead you there and then bring you back. However, if you can accept the benefit of fewer, much fewer, cars on this historic island and you would pay for parking at any city centre hotel in the world, you will find this an easy adjustment to settling in at the hotel. If you embrace the walk back to the hotel from the car park as a way to stretch your legs and discover the island without a guidebook in hand, it will be one of the more peaceful 15-20 minutes you enjoy while touring Sicily. The extra dollars for the sea view room with balcony was without question one of the best choices I made. Yes, Saturday night meant dozens of couples and families gathered on promenade next to the Fonte Aretusa. The luxurious feel of opening those doors to the sea and distant mountains left me speechless every morning and sunset. Breakfast on the rooftop with 360 degree views left us with a desire to explore another part of the region every day of our stay. The fact that I didn't find a way to extend our stay disappoints me. The narrow car-free car-few streets of this idyllic island encouraged unplanned exploration for which I simply did not leave enough time.

It was beautiful and we had rooms with balconys overlooking the sea! It was spectacular in look and feel and location. The staff was very friendly and professional. It was very elegant and the food was very good. The bathroom and room were fabulous! The pool didn't have heat and that was dissapointing. It was broken. The spa did not have personell in it at all times as would be expected.
