Rome is teaming with history waiting to be explored.

Rome is teaming with history waiting to be explored. The Metro offers the best way of getting around and is very affordable! Tickets cost €1.50 for 100 minutes of travel underground, or until you break surface. Watch your pockets! Rome is rife with pickpockets! I was pick-pocketed on an escalator in the Metro, but luckily only lost a charging bank! Just be aware of the person behind you at all times on escalators or in the Metro. Still, I didn't let it spoil the experience.

    Rome is a great city.

Rome is a great city. It needs to be understood properly, and learning yourself how it changed over the centuries. Trams and metro are good, but buses are usually packed and get stuck in traffic. Stay away from touristy areas for restaurants. Look for the corner authentic restaurants away from tourist areas.

Rome could be crowded especially if you go to the tourist attractions. Plan ahead in time what museum you will do and buy the ticket ahead of time. Take a good walking shoes. You can take an public transportation better with metro but dont expect the bus will always be on time.

Rome is a fantastic location for all ages but can be very busy at the main landmarks. Skip the line entrance tickets are a good option, but can be expensive and going early or later to an attraction is a good option to avoid too much queueing. Walk a street or two off the beaten track and you will find some absolute gems of places to visit and eat. It’s well worth doing your research. I also recommend good foot ware as Rome is definitely a city that you need to walk in order not to miss anything. Food can be a little on the expensive side, especially in restaurants so why not visit one of the fantastic local bakeries to grab a hot sandwich for lunch. Rome is a city that you will want to visit again and again.

Fabulous location where we could walk to everywhere we wanted to see. The staff at Hotel Nationals are superb in every way. The front desk people were extremely helpful in planning our days. They recommended a restaurant that was what we were looking for. Because it faces the piazza where the Parliament is, security was wonderful and we had to show our hotel key to get into the piazza. This was our 5th trip to Italy and it is the best hotel we have had in Rome. A very good, full breakfast was served every day.

Location is awesome! Perfect for those travelling in Italy by train because of proximity to the Roma Termini station and relatively close to main attractions in Rome. Hop On/Hop off stop is right across the street from the hotel as well as the stop for the buses to 2 different airports (7 euros only!!). Last but not least - breakfast. I loved it and it is as good as everyone writes here. I will stay in this hotel next time i am in Rome. PS: The bed and pillows were really nice

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. I had chosen a room in the annex as I wanted to sleep in a quiet place without too much people going in and out. The room was great and silent, even if it was over the busstation in Piazza Indipendenza, the windows are so thick that you can't hear the noise. And I loved the view of the piazza. The reception was nice and the breakfast is one of the best that I have had in Italy, so you shouldn't miss it. I had love to come back here :)

Very clean rooms. Very friendly and helpful front desk personnel. Good location of the hotel, quite close to the Termini railway station and centre of Rome. We travelled by bus (628 and 360, mainly, if I recall well). The closest Metro station is quite far from the hotel (11-12 mins. of walking). We relied a lot on Google Maps and Moovit in our holidays in Italy. They didn't dissapoint us, especially when we were walking or commuting from the hotel to the city centre.

This is my first stay at any hotel in Italy and I can honestly say that the receptionist set a high standard, the check in process was easy and accommodating, recommending me her own personal favorite restaurants that aren't tourist traps and wow that made the trip really great, eating authentic Italian food is the best way to start discovering Rome. The rooftop for breakfast was fantastic, having some options to eat before walking around in Rome was helpful.

Amazing place!! Me and my mum really enjoyed out stay. The place has such a unique atmosphere. The host so helpful and nice. Our check in time was out of the house rules, but host allowed us to check in later. Moreover, our train got late and host still waited us for several hours. We just cannot be more thankful. It really made our trip to Rome special. Thank you! Also, we got recommendation on the restaurant nearby and it was our best meal in Italy.

I recommend this UNA property 100%. The entire hotel was so clean (big lobby and room), staff was efficient and friendly, room was spacious, and breakfast was great. Great location and value. Only 5min walk from Rome Termini station and 10-15 min walk to Colosseum and Trevi. I stayed in an UNA in Catania and when I wasn’t sure where to stay in Italy, I chose this UNA. From now on, I will start by finding an UNA hotel.

This was our second stay at Hotel Trastevere within a 10-day period. (We started and ended our trip to Italy in Rome, with visits elsewhere in the middle.) Once again, we greatly enjoyed the location, the friendly and helpful staff, and the daily breakfast. Although it probably doesn't have all the amenities that some larger or more expensive hotels do, it had almost a family atmosphere, and we felt very much at home.

I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Rome.

This hotel exceeded our expectations for Rome. We stayed in 12 hotels/farmstays over 4 weeks for our European trip (Holland, Italy, Paris) and this was one was the absolute best value. The bed was in the top 3, the room was very spacious for a major city hotel and the bathtub would have been amazing if it wasn't 36 degrees out. I was tempted to have an ice bath but I had no access to ice.
