1. I've listed a rating for Staff as "poor" and that's not exactly the case--to clarify: it's just that there wasn't anyone there when we needed to ask questions. We initially checked in and were shown the flat by a pleasant lady (unfortunately we don't speak Italian so it was hard to communicate, but that's our fault, not hers). She was very attentive at this point and made sure we had sheets, towels, etc. But then we never saw anyone who worked there again until the end of our stay three days later--not even to inquire where there was a store or ask about getting more toilet paper. The family seemed to live in a building across from where the flats are, but even with knocking on the door we couldn't find anyone. There were other people staying in the apartments so we asked them questions like where to hang out washing, etc. We had been expecting an agriturismo that was a bit more interactive, so we were quite puzzled by the lack of communication. 2. Another issue was that we had a lot of difficulty sleeping because there was a group of other guests who sat outside on the patio until 3 and 4 in the morning laughing, singing and talking. I think our experience might have been different if the other guests had been more polite.
The location is absolutely beautiful and the two-bedroom flat that we had was lovely -- lots of character. The blue glass dishes were stunning. We chose the location because it is in the countryside, but there is public transport from Florence (a 15 minute walk, then a 40 minute bus ride; #31 or 32), so for us it was a good spot. The kids loved the pool, and we enjoyed walking around the area in the countryside. All this was good.
