No one around to help.
Fattoria Settemerli was so charming! It was wonderful being in the Tuscan countryside and also being able to take the bus into Florence. The grounds were green and filled with blooming flowers. We would stop in Galluzzo, the town nearby, for a bottle of wine and some cheese and find a cozy place on the grounds to enjoy a relaxing evening. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend this location and look forward to returning in the future!
We loved the surrounding, the wiev, and the old building with the beautiful tuscan garden. The city centre is close by car, and also a bus, which is fast.
Our only problem, was, the breakfast was very poor. We missed the promised tuscan bread, and local food, or a simple italian cappuccino. I think this is important somebody who travel a lot to feel the italian lifestile, and flavors.
Breakfast was poor and room needed a bit of a clean.
Beautiful scenery and very friendly hosts. Clean rooms, green yard, colorful flowers and running horses in the silk shiny olive forest, that's strongly impressed on my memory. Every morning, when you wake up, going through to the dinning room and having the breakfast with the bird warbling and charming flowers sweet smell. From that, you can relax and refresh yourself thoroughly under the brilliant Tuscany sunshine here. Good location. You can take No.36 bus from the beginning of the station "Florence Santa Maria Novella" to the "Le Gole" or "Via Volterrana"station where Settemerli located, just need half an hour. You can also easily and conveniently go to the nearest "Galluzzo" where there are market, shops and restaurants to reach all kind of things you want.
beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable room,
disappointing breakfast! the products and variety were very poor, especially as expected from an agrotourism resort
It's a quiet countryside but not far from the sightseeng spot. You can wake up with birdsong. The room is clean.
Don't expect to the breakfast.
This is the perfect Tuscany! The views!!!! And only 10 minutes from Florence. Thee is so much space in and around the property, you feel like a king. Very friendly staff too.
Nothing. It is all perfect.
wifi was not working at 2nd and 3rd floor. Breakfast was the same during 4days and terrible.
We like the view.
Attention. There were no one at front desk at night . No internet......
It was a lovely old building in a rural area, old world charm.the staff were helpful and polite.
The bed was like a rock,no tv and as there was nothing to do decided to go online, the internet was a joke and the breakfast was poor
Very nice! For sure we will be back in this fantastic farmstay!! Staff was nice and helpful, food good. Nearly of Florence this little paradice!!
Nothing! Everything was nice!
The staff was very friendly and nice. And the place was perfect and quite. The room was clean and has a romantic setting. the staff Minea & Livio were very friendly and helpful. We were travelling with our Daughter of 2 years old and she also loved the place. The surrounding has lots of green. we surely would come back.
Well there is nothing to dislike. It was a perfect farm house and of course a very clean one.
Loved the setting, very romantic. We were on our honeymoon and love it.
The view from the hotel premises was very nice.
- Breakfast was really dissapointing. We expected to have a hearty breakfast with fresh eggs and bread instead we found stail pre-pack croissant and watered down juice. - Internet was not working on the first day - Accomodations - we stayed in the side house which felted more like the servants house with no TV or sufficent power outlets - Water - there was not enought hot water for a decent shower - Dinner - We had dinner on the first night as we had read in previous reviews that the dinner was good based on local produce.. However we notice the dinner choice was very limited, quality was dissapointing and expensive not worth the money.
Great fresh air and scenary! Friendly and helpful owner!
Was seriously bitten by bed bugs on the first night on all 4 limbs and neck, woke up every 2 hrs from the terrible itch. Found more than 10 crawling on the bed, pillows and walls in the morning, half were big fat with probably my blood when i killed it.
Quite close to city by public transportation. Very quiet. Good staff. Antique design.
For a rustic setting, just outside of Florence, this place was a real gem! The host, Minea was lovely and so welcoming. Traditional decor and beautiful Tuscan country views are a lovely bonus.
I would advise renting a car. We had one which was perfect but may be a little harder without!
This place is just amazing. Little bit outside Florence but that made it even better, quiet surroundings, nature and fresh air. Very easy to get to the city centre of Florence. Clean rooms and very helpful and friendly staff. Huge advantage is free parking on site. I would strongly recommend it to anybody who wants to visit Florence!!!
Nothing, all was superb!
Friendly and attentive staff, Minea made helpful reservations, maps and suggestions, superb dinner by chef Livio upon request, beautiful views and grounds, unique furnishings in keeping with historic setting, lovely horses, free parking, also convenient to bus or taxi, in quiet countryside with church bells yet very close to Florence and Chianti region.
No bottled water or mini-fridge in rooms
dinner price was not reasonable, bath was non clean.
Really friendly staff and recommended us to a lovely restaurant in the square
Great location - easy to get to Florence and also to explore the Chianti region from this B&B. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. We arrived early and they were kind enough to store our bags and even bring them to our room when the room was available. We stayed in one of the cottages which was very cute and perfect for us. Great breakfast. Free parking is always great!
Location just outside the city of Florence, with easy access to the highway and to the city, Free parking and WiFi. The "understanding" of the owners to let us skip on the second night given the bed bug history.
Lots of bed bugs in our room! No kidding, after the first night my body was covered from head to toe in red, swollen bed bug bites after the first night. Upon arrival in our room, we found it smelling kind of musty, but didn't think much of it at that time. There were a few blood stains on the walls and sheets, but we didn't connect all the dots until the next day when my arms, legs, feet, neck, head and lower back gradually started showing red spots in neat lines, that started itching and swelling as the day went by. By the afternoon, it became unbearable and we returned to the hotel to ask for another room. The owner said it wasn't possible since all rooms were fully booked for the next, but he would repeat steaming (hence the musty smell) the whole room to take care of the insects they apparently knew they had.... After all it's the country side. After a 30 eur visit to the pharmacy for cortisone cream, anti-histamine tablets and bug spray I started googling what kind of insects this may be, as they sure were't mosquitos.... To end up discovering what bed bugs are. We showed the info to the owners who proposed redoing the steam treatment for the 3rd time, while we wanted to get out of there, which we did. When writing this review, we're 4 days later and that one night cost us an additional 45 eur for parking in Florence due to last minute hotel change with few options, a 25 eur visit to my doctor at home, another 20 eur visit to the pharmacy at home and 3 nights of sleep due to itching. It will cost another 125 eur to have our clothes and suitcase disinfected with gas, otherwise we might end up having bed bugs in our home as well. Fyi: my girlfriend didn't have a single bite, so you can take your chance as the bed bugs seem to have a particular taste and not everypne has an allergic reaction.
Great stay and no complaints. They also found us reservations for the Accademia and the Uffizzi, saving us at least 3 hours and a lot of heat.
