Score from 1906 reviews Good
The hotel is conveniently located by Termini station, walking distance to everything. Staff was nice and polite as well. The room and bathroom was clean and neat.
No wardrobe in the room
very clean, freindly, flexible staff, they were able to give us the room before check in time and they let us stay a bit longer then check out time
they took the amount from my credit card without my permission. Amount was OK though, but still it was strange.
I have read many reviews about this hotel and other hotels with similar standards. I do not understand those who from 2star hotel have so high expectations. Fillipo advantages were: -location ( close to Termini, Coloseum, metro station 100m) - clean room and bathroom, towels changed, fresh water everyday -free wifi -superb service( I asked to print my tickets and despite I was in other building the receptionist said that somebody will bring printed tickets to my room) -state of furniture. for this value it and after so unfair reviews, I was surprised -safety to sum up, if you are looking for good located, clean hotel this is perfect place 4U
for this value and 2 star hotel standard there is nothing to complain.
we stayed at Sky hotel part of Fillipo hotels group. there was an offer in booking and we paid 60euro/night = absolutely value for money! the room was big, clean, recently refurbished. There is no proper reception however when you give a call to the reception (wherever this is located...) you will get what you want. They allowed a late check out. The area is central ,walking distance to restaurants and bars & metro/buses very close. The neighborhood is not very good, you hardly meet an Italian in the area (but you know that before hand with a basic research for Rome) however I never felt in danger or something
breakfast not in the hotel and fairly poor
Simple and pretty good location, 2 minutes from the termini station.
Staff was great
The bed was hard. Had problem staying connected on the wifi. Bathroom was small and couldn't open the shower stall completely.
The hotel was clean, well refurbished and all the services were excellent. When there was rain, umbrellas popped out of nowhere free of charge, to be used by us. Also the location of the hotel we actually ended up, sky hotel roma, was far better than that of the hotel filippo. Overall if you aren't afraid of the few quirks the owners have reserved for you, this is an excellent place to stay location and service wise.
Booking a room from hotel filippo didn't actually end in us staying there, but we were moved to a different hotel, from the same owner i assume, but we ended up in hotel sky roma. Yes the hotel was indeed very clean and in good condition and all the services worked fine, but when i book a hotel i do except to at least stay there.
Area feels a bit unsafe at night
Hotel fillipo is a true gem inside a very confusing area. We would recommend this hotel.
The very small elevator*
Close to train station, clean apartment.
We arrive to then be told we would be placed at a different hotel 800 yards down the road. Hotel is a floor in a 5 floor apartment. Breakfast is served at a nearby cafe which we never found.
Close to Station and Tube lines. Not far from Colloseum.
Not particularly nice area. Breakfast off-site at a nearby Cafe with voucher.
Owner was great. He answer all you need in the beginning before we asked. Clean, comfortable and located quite close anywhere to visit. Wifi is free and very good. There is coffe machine which you can use anytime. It is great compliment for the stay.
I have seen different address at booking.com but I stayed in different place. It is complicated hotel because there is more than 2-3 hotel working together. When you see the room and conditions, you forget this detail. Room view was horrible. We could see only airconditions and we could not open our window because of smell and noise. We walked around 300 meters away for having breakfast and it is only one drink and one cookie. So, for me it was no breakfast.!
Staff went out of their way to help us. Unusual breakfast deal but works well. Walking distance to just about everything you would want to see and visit. Great restaurants nearby.
We had no issues.
Coffee facilities. Room. Cheap prices for minibar.
Breakfast a bit poor. Would be nice to have breakfast downstairs which is an excellent space.
- Bed was comfortable - Room had everything needed, no frills but it was cosy
- You go around the block to Miky Bar for breakfast which is just croissant and a coffee. The croissant was quite tasty but I wish there was some variety, also the servers in that bar weren't the friendliest - maybe the hotel should change the bar it associates with. - We went to the second hotel in the chain, Hotel Sky and I kind of wish there had been more of a reception. It felt more like we were renting a room than staying in a hotel because there was no reception, we were brought to the room and then called when we wanted to check out.
The location was good. A long block from the Roma Termini where everything begins and ends. Lee is helpfull and courteous. Place is clean and bed dings and toiletries changed daily.
Our reservation was Hotel Filippo at 163 Via Filippo Turati but my wife and I and my niece who came from Oslo were given 2 rooms at Hotel Simone instead located at #107 which is a better place, looks cleaner and safer. Had to walk 2 blocks for breakfast.
Practical location close to Termini.
Area is highly commercialized due to proximity to Termini. Do not expect "ambience" of ancient Rome
Despite being moved a few blocks from Filippo to Hotel Sky ...Location great...Nice room, well appointed....very clean. We liked the security ... felt quite safe.
Breakfast...coffee and bun a few blocks away ....not very convenient.. A bit more variety would benice.
Very close to central railway station. We were able to walk to all of the main attractions in the centre of Rome. Ample size, decent bathroom and good air conditioning. Strong wifi signal. Very helpful manager.
The flippo hotel consists of three separate small hotels that are situated within normal apartment blocks and there is no obvious hotel sign so the hotel can be difficult to find initially. Coupon issued for breakfast at nearby cafe.
Clean and good value for Rome
In a hidden location on the 4 floor of an apartment building.
Close to Termini,vry nice owner
Very noisy area and dirty
I liked the location which is close to the railway station. Not very romantic view but convenient to go to major sightseeings. Very helpfull people at the reception - helped me with my heavy bag
View from the window - car parking
The rooms were great, quiet, great ensuite. Bed was very comfy. Lee was very helpful.
Was a bit misleading calling it a Hotel. Was more like private rooms. Breakfast was in a cafe around the corner. Was a bit unsure about it all at first, then after our first day, were really comfortable with it all.
Noise of the ac and the noise outside
