To experience Florence at its best, you must live it as a true Florentine. Staying in a luxurious apartment in a Renaissance building is surely going to make the difference. First of Florence offers elegant and refined apartments with a fully equipped kitchen. Air conditioning, bed linens, and daily cleaning are included. All apartments are close to the Duomo Cathedral, which you can reach through a short walk among the beauties of the historic center of town. Breakfast is served in a quiet restaurant, just a few steps away. Hotel Rooms: 9

Our stay at First of Florence was the best after travelling for 7 weeks my friend and I found that this place was by far the most comfortable and one of the cheapest. When we arrived we were shown to our room which was a 2 bedroom appartment upstairs there was a double bed and the bathroom down stairs there was a double sofa bed and kitchen with a large screen tv. We were given a bottle of red wine a bowl of fruit and other refrigerated foods which were without charge, what a pleasant change from the mini bars. Best of all there is also a washing machine. The receptionist is great shw speaks english and lets you know the best places to visit and eat at. There is also a pc you can use at no cost. The hotel is located in central Florence close to many of the best sights including the museum which has the statue of david, the fabulous domed cathedral walking distance to ponte vecio. All in all a great place to stay. Lili When you first enter the large front doors you find yourself in a large empty space with just an old fashion lift. There are no signs as to what to do and no one to ask. You have to take the lift up top the 1st floor and there you will find the reception area behind another set of doors.

Laura, at reception, was amazing. Our airline booking was not confirmed and our connections on a tour of Sicily were jeopardized. She spent hours on the phone and saved our trip. The accommodations exceeded our expectations The room was spotless and well decorated including a modern Pullman kitchen with a welcoming bottle of wine and some basic supplies. The central location was easy walking distance from all of central Florence.

Take an alarm clock if you plan to have a wake up call as there is no receptionist from 8 pm to 8 am. If you plan on arriving late I would contact the Hotel first. The entrance is hard to find too. The Hotel itself is very lovely and I would stay there again. Great kitchen facilities and complimentary food and wine. Very clean and lots of culture! I didnt like that the receptionist was not available after 8. We wanted a wake up call, like we had in our other hotel but no one was around to make the call. The lady told us it was a residence/hotel not a hotel? This was a little confusing. As our cell phones did not work internationally and there was no alarm clock in the room we were very stressed as to how we were going to wake up. Luckily the receptionist popped in and gave us a cell phone to use and she set the alarm as well as called us. Perhaps alarm clocks should be in the room? I was also concerned because our original plan would have had us arriving after 8 and we would not have been able to register or get into the hotel section. I think it would be nice for information to be forwarded with the receptionist's phone number before people arrived. Other than that everything was lovely and she did try her best to solve the issue

Very friendly staff, clean rooms. Apartament for 4 persons was very nice - the only disadvantage was the noise from street (however this was back street not very noisy). Kitchen perfectly equipped. We came on holiday, when shops were closed - and we found in refrigerator even some basic things to prepare a meal !!! Location perfect - some 200-300 m from Duomo.

Laura did an excellent job of making us feel at home for the time spent in Florence. We were left welcoming wine, candies, fruit and even pasta and sauce for a meal. The location is very close to the Duomo and Statue of David. I'm a light sleeper and like many of the cities, there is some noise from motorcycles that can be heard. I did not feel it was excessive.

If we ever return to Florence, this is where we would stay

It likes a residential room, instead of hotel. The hotel is not near railway, but in heart of city nearby dumo. The room inside is new and comfortable. There are lots of things provided like washing machine, micowave, coffee machine, dishes, cups, cooking facilies, food and wine etc. The cooking facilities are new & in good quality. I consider it is the best value for money in my Europe trip. The Wifi in the room is not stable, but there is a computer with internet assess is provided in lobby.

Laura is the most excellent host who went to great lengths to assist us from booking through to our final moments of departure - personally making sure that everything was perfect. I cannot thank Laura enough for making our stay truly extraordinary. The location is perfect for walking exploration of the historic area of Florence. The room and amenities were all very good. The suite had plenty of room for a family with small children and was well suited for a longer stay.

Perfect location, very family friendly environment, big rooms, well equipped, good, flexible breakfast at the bar opposite the hotel; good value for money. Very expensive garage. In my opinion, hotel could negotiate better price.

Excellent quality/price ratio in the center of town - very friendly service - quality of rooms. Watch when looking for the hote by car - you may get seriously lost even with satelite connection. More on the fun-side, there were people discussing loudly in the roads and very loudly the whole night - it seemed to me just like an arranged, open-air theatre...hence, close the windows.

I'm pleased to endorse First of Florence and would highly recommend. We wanted to be central to everything and we were, but found our room very noisy, even with the windows shut. However, this inconvenience was minor compared to having the amenities of washer/dryer, small kitchen, etc.

The apartment is well equipped and located in a good location. few minutes of walking from any important attraction and 100m from the Duemo. The staff was very kind and helpful. Very luxurious apartment. Good parking arrangement is offered by the hotel with respect to access limitations in this area of the city center. Very difficult to reach the hotel by car. Need to get the exact instructions from the staff before arrival (GPS may be non useful in this case).

Perfect location for our trip to Florence, Italy. The room was large, with a full kitchen, and our host, Laura, had thoughtfully stocked it with wine, a fruit bowl, juice and food. Laura was friendly and helpful, and made our stay delightful. We will definately return to First of Florence on our next trip.

The location was fantastic, within walking distance of all major attractions, including the hop-on-hop-off bus. The fruit basket, wine, pasta & sauce, crousants, etc. were a lovely welcome. The furniture, decor and cleanliness was very nice. The front office staff was very helpful and pleasant. The restaurant for complimentary breakfast was directly across the street and a bank machine right outside the door!
