Walking distance to everywhere.
Noisy at night. And is in a historical buildings aged nearly 500 yrs.
Wonderful location and helpful front of house staff. Generous provisions provided including wine and very good set up for self catering including small local shops across the road. Very comfortable and spacious room. Loved being there! Great to be able to wash & dry clothes in room.
Bit noisy - especially rubbish trucks early in morning but all part of the atmosphere. It could do with more signage downstairs in the foyer of the building to reassure that the hotel is on the first floor.
good service, comfortable room
The First of Florence is right in the center of Historic Florence. Out the front door you can see the Duomo, down the street. It is actually an apartment, not a hotel room, comes with a fully stocked kitchen, a washer dryer and a pull out sofa. When we checked in the Bottle of wine, Fruit tray and assorted food items were a pleasant surprise! The staff, especially Julian, went above and beyond with any need and request we had. The price for the amenities and the location as well as the size was a bargain.
There was no view from the windows except the inside courtyard, which made it tough to tell the weather outside. But that was a minor inconvenience in this wonderful place.
This is our second stay at First of Florence – the first was 2010 – and we all four still love it. The location could not be better – Via dei Servi is a charming and calm little street with walking distance to almost everything. The staff and rooms are lovely. We will undoubtable stay here next time as well.
The room has all that we need...
Minimal space to put our luggage and stuff.
Very friendly staff, fantastic suite and excellent location. We would definitely book to stay here again. No complaints.
location and all the freebees i.e wine, ham, bread, fruits... Julian was also very helpful.
Lovely apartment, nice staff, good location.
Very, very noisy at night.
It was awesome. I feel that I must visit again with my family. It was very clean, beautiful place providing enough towels, food, wine, fruit, etc. Thanks, First of Florence!!!
Good location. Fridge was filled with complementary sandwich goods, plus wine and pasta making supplies and fruit. which was a great idea. Bed was comfortable. Laura and her staff were friendly and helpful in giving directions and in printing out tickets for us.
Our room felt very cramped, the shower was tiny (although amenities were good) and it was on a noisy street.
The apartment and the facilities were perfect. The location could not have been better. The last time they were fully booked, but am glad i got to stay here this time as this is the only place i will choose to stay in Florence in the future!
We loved that we had all the comforts of home. The room included a washer/ dryer and a dish washer. I so appreciated the complimentary wine, fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, bread and pasta. After two weeks of travel it was so nice to get our clothes washed and to have a home cooked dinner. I would highly recommend the first of Florence.
The location of First of Florence was perfect. We could walk to the square within minutes as well as many restaurants and the Academia museum. We were very pleased with the kitchen facilities and the washer in the room. Perfect for travellers visiting many places. Loved the check in with Laura and the fruit and red wine upon check in. All was exceptional.
No complaints - we would recommend to couples and family. A great place to stay.
It was only one block away from Duomo. The room was clean and equipped with everything we needed. A dishwasher, refrigerator, and washing machine. We also enjoyed the welcome wine and fruits :)
Staff was helpful and friendly. They went out of their way with anything we needed. All the amenities were well thought out. There was food in the fridge, coffee, toiletries when we arrived. Wifi was good. Great location close to the duomo. Would recommend and would stay again.
The receptionist was extremely helpful, the room, an apartment for 2 couples, was beautiful. The furnishings were great, able to cook meals. Walked out the front door of the building and there was the Duomo at the bottom of the street. Within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see and easy to get to the station to get a train to plCes like Pisa, or pick up the tour buses for Tuscany. Bottle of wine and some food provided.
Location superb; staff friendly and helpful; facilities excellent
The room was great for our family of 5. Lots of room to move and sleep. The room was clean and serviced everyday. Laura at the front desk was sensational. Could not have been any more helpful with everything that we needed. Even contacted our next hotel in Rome for us to confirm it. The breakfast was in the cafe directly across the street and was excellent. A great feed.
The street is quite busy at night and at times the noise can wake you particularly with the garbage truck every morning. But I guess they have to their job. If you are heavy sleeper then this is not a problem. Nothing to get too upset about though. The place is great
You are in the downtown for all historical places and easy to wlak everywhere. The staff are firiendly and solve most of your problem, if any.
I have to give 5 stars for this hotel, great location, spacious room. I felt so great with welcoming wine and fruits. Suggest to take taxi from train station to hotel. I will recommend this hotel to any one wants to stay in Florence, especially if you travel with young kids.
First of all, the staff are really friendly and helpful. We booked a suite, and it was clean & nice. The hotel gave us an early check it so we can fresh ourselves after the night train from Paris. And the hotel provided us a welcome wine, fruit basket and free bread. There are several resturants along the street, and a lot a nice shops nearby. Very convenient locations to everywhere, if you don't get lost.
The hotel is about 20 min walking distance from the train station. We spend about 30~35 mins finding our ways, cause the rd was very confusing at the first beginning. If you are travelling with big case, it is better to take a taxi, about 15mins and 15 euro. TAXI To get to the hotel we recommend take a taxi. They will be waiting for customers just out of the station. The cost will be +/- 15,00 euro. WALK If you prefer walk, the direction is Duomo Square, in front of the Cathedral keep the left, arrive beside the Dome (with the Dome on your right) and take the second street on the left. This is Via dei Servi and we are at the end of the street, number 38 black. BUS If you prefer take the bus, you can find it in front of the Station exit. 17 number bus arrive in San Marco square, so from there find SS Annunziata Square and take the street in the middle of the place. After the cross you find our door on the left site. To buy the ticket for the bus (before to go on), you have to find a Tobach shop around the station or a Bar with orange bill that explicate you can buy ATAF ticket.
Laura is fantastic; extremely helpful and attentive. The location in the heart of Florence is unbeatable. Breakfast at OK Cafe excellent.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
