Hotel Florio  

What a location! All the way up into the medieval part of Castiglione. Fun to drive the narrow streets. Superb views on Etna and the old town from the room and from the 4th floor dining room. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Luckily Mr. Silvio had turned on the heating before we arrived as it was still cold mid February. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice between local products and delicious fresh juice. Apart from the daily morning advice one day we got our own private multimedia presentation about Castiglione. I guess if we would have been here in spring, summer or autumn we would also have enjoyed one of the outside terraces. Some day we will certainly come back to this friendly and wonderful place. Difficult to find and very cold in hotel.

Happy, friendly and helpful staff. Incredible views from every window with a panoramic position overlooking Etna and the surrounding hillside. A beautiful lIttle town perched on the side of the hill with restaurants nearby serving authentic Sicilian cuisine. A real getaway from it all hotel but still within easy driving distance of the coast,

No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

When they were around, the staff/owners were helpful, friendly and cheerful. Our room was quite spacious and had great views across the valley to Mount Etna. The local restaurant/trattorio in the village provided good food at very reasonable prices.

Castiglione is a hilltop medieval village with very steep, narrow, winding streets, some of which end in flights of steps. Hotel Florio is not easy to access. We would certainly recommend approaching Castiglione from Francavilla and having a good look at the map beforehand. A small car is a great advantage. We did not like the fact that reception seemed completely abandoned when we arrived and often throughout the day at other times. It's a slightly eccentrically run hotel by normal standards. Breakfast was typically Italian but quite sparse - not a great deal of choice.

What a great place, with the loveliest staff, big clean rooms, the most comfortable enormous beds and incredible views over the mountains and Etna (even from the shower). We were served breakfast on the roof terrace, which we had all to ourselves... an enormous array of fresh fruit, croissants, yoghurt, fresh juice (we chose peach), delicious coffee and amazing views. The town is very peaceful, like a step back in time. A delightful retreat. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality!

The owner, Silvio was simply awesome! He made our stay memorable.... and the hotel has breathtaking rooms, view and standards.... a must!

Sehr zentral in wunderschoener Barockaltstadt gelegen. Romantisch. Individuell. Eimal was anderes als die ueblichen uniformen Hotels. Tolle Stilmoebel. Hotelchef Silvio ist herzlich und ueberaus hilfsbereit.

Renovierung des alten Gebaeudes ist engagiert aber nicht ueberall auf internationalem Standard fuer ein Viersternhotel.

Sehr schönes Ambiente; toller Ausblick von der Dachterrasse aus; gutes Frühstücksbüffet mit sehr leckerem frisch gepresstem Orangensaft; Chef und Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit; toller Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge aller Art!

La gentillesse du personnel. Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. La vue sur l'Etna est mémorable (depuis la chambre ou la terrasse où l'on peut prendre le petit déjeuner). Gps indispensable pour trouver l'hôtel et ne pas venir avec une grande voiture pour pouvoir parcourir les rues étroites de la ville!!

L'accès au wi-fi qui n'a fonctionné que ponctuellement sur la semaine.

Ottimo hotel, friendly, personale molto cordiale, hotel pulito, connsione internet gratuta e velocissima.

tutto stupendo, il paese sebben piccolo è da vedere. La zona poi tra campo golf, vigneti, enoteche, prodotti tipici dei Nebrodi, paesaggi ed escursioni sull'Etna fornisce ottimi spunti per una vacanza di relax. La cortesia del sig. Florio e del personale è ai massimi livelli. La stanza spaziosissima e molto elegante. Da fare inoltre il "giro" dei terrazzini del l'hotel per godere delle stupende viste.

Если учесть, что нашей целью было посещение Этны, то месторасположение прекрасное. И в самом городке есть что посмотреть. Очень приветливый персонал, интересный интерьер номера, прекрасный вид с террасы, на которую выходил балкон. Отличный быстрый интернет, бесплатная парковка, масса информации о том, что еще можно посмотреть в окрестностях:). В целом, все прекрасно!

1. Бедный завтрак, но в прекрасном интерьере. Вообще, отношение персонала и интерьер искупали и то, что отель реально найти тяжело, добраться в городок тоже нелегко, особенно после того, как стемнело, и то, что вода в душевой кабине не желала стекать ...:)

Останавливались в отеле на одну ночь по пути из Милаццо к Этне...в выборе отеля очень помогли отзывы на сайте и информация о том, что из окон отельного ресторана открывается красивый вид на Этну-в соотношении с ценой и местоположением это стало решающим факторором в выборе отеля. Фотграфии на сайте очень красивые, но действительность превзошла все наши ожидания...сказочный городок!!!-время словно в нем остановилось...не смотря на то, что старинные часы по всему городу и его окрестностям отбивают каждую четверть часа...потрясающе красивый вид из окон...в номере два огромных окна с выходом на большую веранду с боковым видом на Этну и центральным видом на старый замок...ночью замок подсвечивается и в сочетании с боем часов-просто фантастика!!!...ресторан уже не работал-не сезон, туристов уже очень мало-в день нашего приезда в отеле проживала только еще одна пара из Франции... и нам порекомендовали маленький ресторанчик рядом с отелем...ужин был превосходный...сырная тарелка с поджареным в сухариках пармезаном и свежайшая домашняя рикотта, ассорти их мяса на гриле ( в горах нет рыбы, но чень вкусно готовят мясо!!!), домашняя паста (такой, особенно вкусной не ели больше нигде на Сицилии), домашнее красное вино, а на десерт сливочный апельсиновый (ну очень вкусный) ликер... Вобщем, красивый старинный городок, затерявшийся в горах, великолепный романтичный отель, гостеприимный персонал, старый замок, бой часов на старой башне, Этна...и самый вкусный кофе-спасибо, Карло!!!-привет из Москвы....Марина и Юрий... и до следующей встречи!!!!!

Ho trovato in questo hotel cortesia ed ampia disponibilita' nel personale operativo e nella direzione, la struttura e' localizzata in contesto panoramico di Castiglione. Ottimo per scoprire localita' interessanti non affollate di turismo e comunque nelle vicinanze di Taormina.

Супер!!! только положительные эмоции. Владелец виллы Сильвио, очень отзывчивый и всегда все подскажет, расскажет и если надо то и сопроводит! Интерьер виллы просто потрясает, очень комфортные номера. Ресторан при отеле с шикарным видом на Этну.

Su ubicación dentro de un pueblo bonito, encaramado en un monte y, en medio de un valle verde,excelentes vistas al Volcan Etna. El personal da un trato amable y cuidadoso ,con gestos de interés por solucionar cualquier pequeña necesidad o problema.Ha sido una estancia inolvidable y plenamentesatisfactoria.

Ontbijt was karig en niet vers . Wifi deed het niet.

Bella camera con arredamento classico e buon confort, colazione con buona scelta ma con prodotti troppo commerciali. Ambiente rilassante con vista sull'Etna. A fine agosto si dormiva tranquillamente senza climatizzatore.

Ubicazione troppo chiusa tra i vicoli di Castiglione di Sicilia, difficoltà di manovra e di parcheggio con l'auto.

Ha una gestione molto familiare ma impeccabile; tutti gentilissimi e disponibili. E' molto bella la villa storica con piscina che l'hotel mette a disposizione con una stupensa vista sull'Etna. La vista dalla camera sull'Etna appena svegli è impagabile. Castiglione di Sicilia è un piccolo borgo ma molto carino e tranquillo.

Lo consiglierei a chi vuole fare una vacanza relax al fresco con tutti i comfort. Meno consigliabile per chi intende fare vacanza itinerante in quanto Castiglione, pur essendo vicinissimo a mete turistiche tipo Taormina, è in altura e la strada, piena di tornanti, non risulta agevole per chi come noi è abituato alla vita della pianura. L'Hotel in sè non ha nessun lato negativo.

Accoglienza

Ho avuto modo di constatare che nell'ambito della gestione dell'hotel c'è la massima disponibilità nel venire incontro alle esigenze della clientela. Il Direttore-Proprietario è sempre disponibile per qualsiasi richiesta e per indirizzare l'utente verso i posti da visitare

Forse l'unica cosa che potrebbe lasciare perplessi è la mancanza di ristorante all'interno dell'hotel
