My only suggestion would be to book the trullo room during warm weather. We happened to stay during a very rainy, April cold spell, and the trullo got a bit damp.
Fontana Vecchia is a gem with the nicest hosts. Such kind people: Biagio welcomed us with a bottle of excellent wine, and Maria served us the most incredible breakfasts. Croissants, wonderful bread, homemade jams, cheeses, cheesecake -- amazing treats every day. Maria even served us bacon and eggs (we are Americans), and Biagio made his famous fritattas. Every morning was a special experience with wonderful food and fun conversation.
The location is ideal with cities like Alberobello, Locorotondo, and Ostuni a short drive away. The accommodations are lovely and the grounds are filled with cherry, almond, and olive trees.
We loved our week with Maria, Biagio, and their son Vincenzo and were sad to leave. Fontana Vecchia is so much more than just a B&B, it's a warm, welcoming place where you feel as if you are staying with family.
