Te location was good and the restaurant was excellent. The service given by Jana at the front desk and Alberto in the restaurant was friendly and excellent. It could have a brighter atmosphere even in the medieval decorating.

The Fontebella and its restaurant in Assisi were fantastic. The views from our room were fabalous, as was the meal that evening. The breakfast (which was included in our cost), was also very good - real eggs even. Very close to the cathedral of St. Francis and easy to get to. Took a cab from the train station, which ran 15 euros for the four of us. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Please remember that air conditioning in April is not going to happen, but the night manager was kind enough to provide a fan for air circulation as the day we were there was surprisingly warm.

Small size, several hundred year old building on side of mountain, great views, excellent in-town (Assisi Italy) location, good & plentiful breakfast buffet, friendly desk staff. In-room on tv screen internet did not work & staff made no effort to get it to work.

Very nice hotel little hotel. They upgraded me to a valley view from my street view with no extra charge. I would have been glad to have paid the extra charge for the view. Staff was really nice and helpfull. Was fairly easy to find since we took a taxi to this place from the train station. 15.00 euro for a one way trip. Coming back we took a bus and paid 3.00 euros for the both of us. Lots of restaurents near by. Lots of school kids were roaming the streets but did not bother us during dinner outings. I am glad we did this during the off tourist season. We will be back to this place. Nice quiet hotel. wifi could be used in the parlor and bar area at all times. At breakfeast there were only cold meats and cheeses avail.. Cold cerial and bread. Would have liked eggs and bacon and such. They had a nice restuarent on site but it was closed during our time there and could not figure out the reason for its closure given from the desk clerk.. Lots of others are in the area for dinners and lunches. Beds are very hard at this place.

The location was amazing once you were inside the hotel and had managed to park your car!!! The lady on reception was wonderfull. She was friendly and extremely helpfull. She informed us when a space became available for our car right outside the hotel which made our lives so much easier. The evening meal in the hotel was very enjoyable and the views from our room were magnificent. This is not a negative comment about the hotel as there are some( about 6 or 7 ) spaces for your car right outside the hotel and if they are free then it is great. But when we arrived in the pouring rain this was full and so was the car park at the bottom of the hill , so you can spend a bit of time driving around through very narrow and hilly streets lookling for a space to park. As mentioned above though, the receptionist was great as she kept her eye on the spaces out front and advised us when one became available.

What didn't we like. It is brilliantly located, the views across the valley were stunning, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This truly is a gem. Only shame was we stayed just the one night. Assisi is a jewel.

The hotel room was very spacious and had an interesting composition of design. It included an incredible view of Assisi and a mini fridge. The most convenient part of our stay was the presence of one a half bathrooms which helped our large family get ready.

The hotel is very nice. Location is perfect with rooms having a view on the prairie down the hill. The staff was very nice. There was even a nice lady speaking portuguese (which is very unusual). The parking is in front of the hotel and the restaurant is fantastic. The room is good, big with a nice new bathroom. It was the perfect place to stay. We do recommend it.

We had fantastic views from our room of the valley. The sunsets were stunning! Our room was lovely and very luxurious. The breakfasts were great and very plentiful. We were very close to the Basilica of St Francis, and a 5 minute walk to the main piazza. It really was a great spot. We were able to have car parking right outside the hotel, which we paid for, and the Internet was excellent in the lobby.

The service from the reception staff was second to none. Friendly, well-informed and willing to go the extra mile to make the stay in Assisi memorable. Local knowledge was great - from the secret eating places to arranging mountain bikes to hire (including delivery and pick up from the door!). Would definitely stay here again. Beautiful view of the valley below and Santa Maria deli Angeli from the room's big window. Wonderful!

The placement of the hotel in Assissi is great! There's parking directly outside for around 10 cars, and if that's full you can park outside the city walls, but it's not that far anyway. Just uphill from the hotel there's a nice little stairway with great views of the valley - perfect for a small, romantic picnic :) The man at the receptiondesk was a bit rude. You'd ask him something and he'd give no signal that he'd heard you, even though he was probably working on your question. He just didn't have good peoplehandlingskills, and made you feel very unsure weather you'd been understood or not..

The close proximity to the Shrine of St. Francis of Asissi and other shrines and historical places in Asissi. The free internet. No coffee or tea making facilitis, no iron was available for our use, everything that we needed had to be paid for, whereas other hotels even 3 star hotels provide the above facilities for the use of the customers. The room was very small, internet photo is misleading.

The staff was wonderful! The Valley view of Umbria was wonderful! The location was good. The dining room food was very good and the view was spectacular. The dining room staff was very nice too. Hated the bath tub! The hand held shower did not go up to our height for a nice shower but worse than that was the fact that the tub was in steps and very easy to fall! We disliked it so much that on morning 2, we didn't even use the shower or tub and waited until we arrived at our next hotel. We also found the breakfast not to be of the best quality. The ham, was spam......yuk........and the croissants were not fre

The view over the valley and the quieteness. It is welle located and away from street noise. nothing. Well the breakfest could be more changeable and a bit richer for the price. I did not like the coffee machine which is looking like a machine of these fastfood restaurants and i had to emphasize that i want a silver tea pot the first day.
