Hotel Italia is a charming 20-minute walk from Siena's Piazza del Campo. In summer, enjoy free access to a nearby swimming pool and tennis court.
Score from 980 reviews Excellent
The staff was phenomenally friendly and recommended several great places to eat and visit. The room and bathroom were very clean. I would definitely return.
We booked the night before we needed a place to say. The place was clean and the staff member we met was pleasant and informative enough about the town.
We were forced to pay in cash upon our arrival, which we weren't aware of when we booked. The location is not what we expected and getting into the tight driveway was compromising. Bathroom was very old. Would not stay again if we needed to. Having to pay in cash was a turn off.
Shower , no water pressure
The guesthouse is clean, comfortable, and the host is very friendly. It is a reasonable walk into the walled city, although you have to cross several busy streets. There is a very good bakery, cafetaria nearby for breakfast or an evening coffee and pastry.
The owner was only there for a few hours in the evening. When we ran out of toilet paper there was no one to ask for more. There is a very nice garden with chairs and tables, but the road noise is very loud and there are mosquitos and gnats. The building is located at a very busy intersection. However, the traffic ceased about 9 pm and didn't start up again until about 7 pm so the nighttime was peaceful.
Very good value for the price. Staff is super friendly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants.
I didn't realize prior to arriving that we had to share a bathroom with another couple. I wouldn't have booked knowing but it ended up being fine... It's a bit noisy at night due to a very busy street nearby.
Tourist tips Gift of a cookbook
The owner is very friendly, helpful and always knows good advice. The place is in walking distance to the town center and theres a free car-parking next to the house. Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Besitzer. Das Stadtzentrum ist gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und fürs Auto gibts einen kostenlosen Parkplatz direkt neben dem Haus.
The main street next to the house is really loud, traffic starts around 6.30 a.m. The quality of the mattres was very poor (but the owner promised to renew.it at the end of the season).
Location outside the city walls but only a short walk into the center. Warm welcome from the very helpful owner, including a map of the city and advice on making the most of our trip (including a great breakfast recommendation). Lots of parking space available if coming by car.
good hotel, clean, with a big room and a dinning room, and a Little kitchen if you need cook something.
The only time to check in and check out is from 3pm to 6 pm... it's so dificult stay at this time if you want to see a city.
Private parking on site, close to the old town
Bed OK Hot water ok Parking space good
The house is in a crossing of the streets getting to the high way. The booking.com address or the one in the confirmation are not quite ok, it took us over 30 minutes to figure it out. To get to the Piazza del Campo you have to walk 20 minutes, the first with speding cars very close. The girl who did the check in just wanted to get over us as soon as possible to continue smoking and talking over the phone. The room has one old bed not really confortable. Bathroom was not very clean, I found many hairs that didn't belong us. No breakfast or possibility of cooking.
A nice little house with a garden and parking spaces for the guests. The owner is a nice guy who gave us a city map and explained to us how to reach the city center and gave some recommendations. City center is close enough, 10min walk mostly uphill, though. The hotel even has a small living room and a kitchen.
Unfortunately the garden is next to a busy road that's quite noisy. We shared the bathroom with too other guests that left a (hairy) mess everytime they went in there - that's not the hotels fault though and I imagine it can be very nice if you stay in the house with two friends instead of two slobs.
owner gives you lot of tips how to spend a nice time in Siena
Property was beautiful, rooms and shared bathroom was clean. In a quiet neighborhood but close to tourist attractions.
Customer service - they left me waiting outside for 2 1/2 hours because the morning of my arrival they emailed me asking to text or call them when I arrived so they could come over even though I had already given them my arrival time. Of course, being from out of the country I had no wifi so did not receive the email. I got big bites all over my legs while sitting and waiting. All of this was happening during their posted 3-6pm check in time. I eventually walked aimlessly for 30 mins to find wifi. When I got in touch there was no apology or thought to reimburse me somehow. Since I only had a day there it was a huge waste of my time and I was very disappointed. The next morning at 10am on the dot someone began to open the door while not even knocking. If you're going to leave me hanging outside 2 1/2 hours, do not barge in at 10am without knocking. I was out by 10:05 and will not be back.
The owner was very helpful, great suggestions on where to eat and a quick way to the town. Great location, room was good. Free parking. Perfect
Good location, friendly and helpful staff
The most friendly and welcoming staff, offering invaluable tips about local restaurants and insight into the local history - our stay wouldnt be the same without them Large parking Very good access to the historic city center Quiet and pleasant
close to town centre, free and safe parking
close to noisy road.
Private parking at the house, clean rooms, extremly friendly staff (Francesco is awesome!), very good Wi-Fi.
You have to walk a bit to the city center but we were aware of that and preferred the private parking instead.
Location wise its ok, about 10 mins to old Siena.
The rooms were small and quite run down. The whole place could do with a renovation. The furniture is quite old and in bad condition. The bathroom was also old and the sink took 3-4 mins to empty every time we used it. Also the only 15:00 to 18:00 check in rule (which was never mentioned before) was a big drawback, it meant we had to leave our stuff and go visit the town and then cut our walk short so we can go back to the hotel to check in and pay. Not very convenient.
good location, close to center, nice garden, comfortable clean and beautiful rooms, easy to find. perfect
Central location, value for money, parking for motorcycles in garden
No restaurant facilities, but plenty in Siena within walking distance. Owner on site during limited time periods.
Everything was perfect for our needs. We did not stay long, but it really was perfect.
Very kind owner. Good price. Outside city walls but very near.
The hotel is a cottage in the city whose location is not so far from the center (15 minutes by walking) although you can spend just 5 minutes to get the pedestrian streets . Clean and comfortable.
We have to pay by cash because the owner told us that they didn´t accept credit card (I think that was not true, but we did)
