Hotel information

The Grand Hotel Bristol, with its rich historical background, was built in 1908, and inaugurated on January 11th, 1911. Since then its halls have been the meeting place for historical and political figures such as Benito Mussolini, the English Minister for Foreign Affairs Austen Chamberlain and the British Chancellor William Churchill.
The Grand Hotel Bristol is set on the border between the municipal districts of Rapallo and Zoagli and provides the ideal starting point for trips to Santa Margherita Ligure, Portofino, S. Fruttuoso and the Cinque Terre.The hotel’s original elegant liberty-style façade is still intact and after careful renovations the property’s interior exudes an atmosphere of refinement and elegance.

Food & beverage

There are two restaurants: the Chamberlain Restaurant on the ground floor is ideal for banquets and private receptions and can seat 80 in a boardroom set-up or 150 for a banquet; the other is the exclusive roof garden restaurant Le Cupole, with its superb terrace overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio, which offers guests an excellent selection of typical Ligurian specialities and international cuisine combined with impeccable service.

Each of the hotel’s deluxe rooms, situated on 5 floors, provides a magnificent view of the Portofino promontory,recognised as a symbol of beauty and exclusivity the world over. Each of the De luxe rooms has its own private balcony overlooking the sea,(Superior rooms with side sea view). Amongst the hotel’s most charming features are the two splendid 60m2 liberty-style suites situated at the corners of the fourth and fifth floors, whose large terraces looking out over Portofino. The Presidential Suite also boasts its own hydromassage.

Area information

“Golfo del Tigullio” includes 28 km of ligure coast: Portofino, Paraggi, Santa Margherita Ligure. Rapallo and Zoagli, are the top names in fashionable, high class in holidays resort.Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore: these five towns make up the Cinque Terre area with nine kilometres of coast and 14 kilometres of mountain paths. The name “Cinque Terre” dates back to 1418 and appears for the first time in the writings of the Genoese chancellor Giacomo Bracelli. In all of the towns the houses appear to be piled one on top of the other - space is precious in the Cinque Terre and is not to be wasted, therefore town dwellings have grown vertically. For this same reason the land is cultivated using “terraces”, which are often held upright using dry stone walls as supports.

Clean, modern, comfortable, view.

Dinner in top floor restaurant ok. However, we were advised about the dress code (and acted accordingly). Other guests arrived in slippers and they should refuse this if they want to improve the restaurant's status (and menu price).

freindly staff, good value, would go again any time would highly recommend this hotel and I have stayed in many high quality hotels this was the best one.

Ambiente rilassante in tutto l'hotel, particolarmente piacevole l'area piscina. Bella camera, con ogni comfort, e molto buona la prima colazione.

Non è un problema dell'hotel, ma di Rapallo, che non ha belle spiagge. Per trovarne è necessario prendere l'auto.
