The Trulli house was a unique experience and we enjoyed the quaint and private accommodations. We enjoyed the cabin-like feel and peace and quite.
The purpose of the trip was to get away but being addicted to the internet always prevails! The wifi is poor. It only works outside probably due to the thick brick walls.
Good instruction and map on arrival with help to get to accommodation. Put breakfast in our room on last morning as we left before breakfast time. Staff very helpful and spoke great English. Big secure car park.
Reception not on site. Good 15 minute walk into Alberobello. As we were next to breakfast room could hear when everyone else in there. No chance for a lie in past 8am.
The villa is very nice and beautiful. Staff was incredibly helpful all the time, very welcoming. Very clean room. Good breakfast. Definitely recommend!
Very poor wi fi connection
The staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. The apartment was lovely just what we expected a authentic Trulli house experience, Clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good with a good range of food.
Wifi didn't work in room
A unique way to spend a holiday in a trullo, beautiful surroundings with a large swimming pool, big garden with many chairs and lounges A good breakfast with lots of choice for everyone
Great little room just out of town in this beautiful resort. Scenic garden, pool and lovely areas.
Nothing too negative but the place is out of town (which is why you get nice space).
Gorgeous hotel and property. Each "room" is really a private Trullo. We had a 2 level Trullo for 3 adults plus a baby. It was extremely comfortable. There was a kitchen, AC, heater, fireplace, dining table, living room and 2 bed rooms. Now of course, a trullo isn't very big, but somehow they manged to put all of these elements into a well-planned house. It was one of the most charming places we had ever been. The hotel property has a beautiful pool, terraces and a garden (which included a park for children). The breakfast was perfect. I would highly suggest staying in this hotel! It was conveniently located right outside of town and you can walk to the center, but we had a car. I suggest bringing a car to Alberobello. There aren't many taxi's and it's more comfortable with a car. There is the Fasano Zoo/Safari 15 minutes away and it's not far from the beach either. The staff isn't around much because there isn't a reception located on the property. This can be a negative if you want to talk to them throughout the day. However, we were very independent.. Breakfast was provided and the rooms were clean. What else could you ask for?
Wifi was good outside of the room but as soon as we closed the door, the signal was gone. This is probably because the Trulli have thick stone walls and the signal doesn't enter.
Lovely accommodation in beautiful setting just 15 min walk from Alberobello. Well located for exploring the many lovely places in Puglia. Lovely staff, very clean accommodation, quiet, nice pool which was never too busy - would highly recommend
Staff Place Swimming pool Breakfast
Check in/out in a different location
Location, location, location - just outside Alberobello, with swimming pool, fabulous grounds with hammocks, etc., own patio for trulli studio, within walking distance of centre of town for bars, restaurants and sightseeing. Good position for touring other towns and Puglia coast. Excellent staff - very helpful.
Very poor wi fi connection, which could be helped by fitting transponders/relays from the main router, around the property. Nothing else.
The grounds of Il Gabellota are truly amazing. Sprawling green, hammocks, and a beautiful pool. I would definitely stay there again if I were to go back to the area. The trulli apartments were really cool and very nice!
Having to wear swimming caps in the pool.
Large, attractive play area for children. Relaxing places to sit and enjoy the weather and a glass of wine. Near to attractions, but far enough away from tourist locations to be quiet and restful. Very helpful and courteous staff.
Beautifully designed place. Great renovation in a pretty garden, decked with hammocks, bbq areas and a lovely swimming pool. Reception is not yet on-site (due to be soon) but this did not deter our experience. In fact staff were really helpful when we got a puncture.
If we had to find fault... The breakfast area was a little dark in the basement and lacked personality. Perhaps this could be improved.
Absolutely gorgeous! This place came straight out of my dreams, had an amazing relaxing time there. And it is 10 minutes walk from town centre
The loveliest place we have ever stayed. Amazing swimming pool & gardens.
Nothing! Would be nice to have breakfast outside rather than in a basement room.
while we booked for the resort initially, we were very disappointed to find out we booked for an apartment, not a trullo upon arrival. luckily our great host thought along with us and indicated that he might still be able to secure a trullo in town for us. This worked out great and we were only some steps away from the main square. thank you gabellota for a great service! Alberobello is a cute town and it is worth it to spend a day there to walk around and have dinner. T
Please be advised: if it says "apartment" in the room description it is NOT a trullo. the resort is 1km out of the city center. especially if you are there for 1 night like we were, I can really recommend sleeping in a trullo in the city center, although this might be a bit pricier. I believe 130 per night for a 2 bedroom. Note that the breakfast is served in a nearby cafe when you are staying in town, not at the resort, and is very basic (some toast, jam, cheese, that's it)
It's a very nice resort property consisting of a group of trulli in the countryside with a lovely pool. The property is well maintained, the gardens are stunning, and the staff is truly outstanding.
About the only thing that could be improved is wifi access. At this point the only hot spot is in the breakfast room, which is in a basement area -- not a place you want to spend much time on a beautiful day at a gorgeous resort property.
The staff are always looking to help you
I liked the individual nature of the property and the tranquillity and the location. I liked the area and the places we could visit quite easily and the staff we saw in the morning were very pleasant
Didn't really have any complaints
Donato, Alessia & Alessio were excellent - helpful and friendly. The group of trulli are spectacular and comfortable, renovated to a high standard. Situated just a short (20 min) walk from the town centre, the property is far enough away from the crowds to provide a quiet, relaxing hideaway.
The location was great, just out side the center but not far. beautiful, one has to know that he is going to be a guest in a trullo which has it's own charecteristics, we were lookinjg just for that even though it took a night to get use to the unusual setting.breakfast was rich and the people were realy nice and helpful. If I could, I would stay even longer.
It was very relaxing and would be great in the summer with the gardens. The trulli house was fantastic, full of character and clean. The staff were really helpful and friendly, dishing up a good varied breakfast each morning.
There could have been a little more kitchenware.i.e sharper knives for cutting and maybe a chopping board as it is self catering.
Sleeping in a trullo is an experience not to be missed. The trullo was renovated tastefully with clever use of space, so it didn't feel cramped. The farmhouse setting was peaceful and the pool would have been great if the weather was sunnier and less windy. Breakfast was ample and refilled quickly, with regional food like grilled eggplant, crostini with cherry tomatoes, foccaccia, chocolate-filled croissants, etc. Free wifi in the breakfast room.
Trulli Residence are 1.2 km from town, so be prepared to walk. Having said that, staying in the historic trullo area would have been quite hectic from the large number of tourists, so it was great to have peace and quiet at Trulli Residence after a day of walking and sightseeing. Avoid the trulli area on Easter Monday if you don't like crowds!
Upgraded into a bigger room thanks to availability in the low season. Room into a trulli
