It was a little noisy at night if the windows were left open, but when we shut them and turned the air conditioning up to a level that made it comfortable throughout the large apartment, the air con unit dripped water constantly and we had to leave a towel under it. We made the staff aware of this issue but it persisted throughout our stay. The mattress on our bed had seen far better days. Every time we got on it or turned over, the springs clunked. I had back ache most days which I attributed to the bed. The Sky TV in the room is basic, and once Italy were eliminated from the World Cup, no other games were shown apart from on pay per view. Ditto with Wimbledon. Most matches weren't available. The TV on the rooftop terrace did allow you to see these events though, just not in the comfort of your own room.
Great location 25m behind Via Garibaldi, just a 5 minute walk to the bus and train stations, and really convenient for all the old town's main shopping and dining streets. All the staff were superb, genuinely warm, friendly and accommodating. There were only two of us, but we booked an apartment for four as we were staying for a week and wanted space and comfort as my wife is pregnant. The size, feel, style and decor of the apartment was great, as was the quality of the kitchen facilities and wardrobes etc. We booked the apartment for a variety of reasons, but partly because it promised two balconies and a washing machine. It had all these, as promised. There is also a spacious rooftop terrace with good quality garden furniture where guests can sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The hotel staff will do anything for you, they are really genuine and kind. When we forgot water for the beach, they just offered us a bottle. They also allow you to leave your bags on the departure day and pick them up prior to your flight. Judging by the number of places around Trapani offering a left luggage service in return for money, not many hotels do! All in all, Gafada is a great place to stay!
