The hotel is not in city center, but metro station is located near. The room is really historical. There are stairs to the bathroom - looks really cool.
Dirty room. A lot of dust everywhere. The bed. Why so hard to put one big mattress?
Closeness to Metro.
Tiny room for luggage.
The hotel is in a good location, very close to Marche metro station and the tram line. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a code operated safety deposit box in our room which was free of charge.
The WiFi connection was very poor. Connection was intermittent and when connected the signal strength was weak. Breakfast was not included in the price of the hotel and was available for 6€ per person per day. We were informed of this in advance and decided to have breakfast in the hotel. In my opinion the breakfast was not worth 6€, mainly because of the lack of variety. For example, there was only one choice of cereal (stale cornflakes) and one choice of cooked meat.
All I liked it, staff is very kindly!!! All recommendations!!!
To adjust TV-set is complicated
I chose Hotel Gala for two things: price and location. Its a great value for money, especially in expensive milan. The staff is very friendly and helpfull, the room was in fact a small appartment with balcony. Directly in front of the hotel is a Metro, which connects to the Central station in 8 minutes. 200 metres away is a supermarket. Plain perfect.
The Wifi was in Room 4 non existent.
Easy to find location, metro station is just across the street.
Large rooms, location, staff, room facilities
Awfull bed, pretty old furnitu, bathroom not great.
Location Cleanliness Room facilities
The bed was quite uncomfortable.
large room, almost next to tram stop, quite easy to get around if you have light luggage
uncomfortable beds, seemed like it was made out of two tables, average bathroom
The free toothbrush, toospaste and razor blade, what was very good, cause i was travelling with only hand luggage
I am small height, the bed was too strangely high for me , but it was ok.
It was all as per photos, hence what I expected.
A new tax on what was advised. Couldn't provide breakfast after it was quoted as an optional extra!
The staff was excellent and worked with us on any requests we had. The issues that arose due to flooding from so much rain were handled to the best of their ability and they were always pleasant. The accommodations were adequate and everything was clean and neat.
There were some problems due to flooding, of course out of their control. The hotel is below street level and there had been an enormous amount of rain. Because of this we did not have a way to go out to get food and breakfast was cancelled since it caused an electrical problem. We did not have any hot water for washing/showering and did expect at least a discount considering these things but that was not forthcoming.
The hotel has a very good location, near to the center with metro (10 mins), but in a quiet green area. The hotel is nice, and the staff was very kind! I would absolutely recommend Hotel Gala.
The metro stop is right outside the door; the bathroom was well equipped: shampoo bottles, toothpaste, shaving kit.
The staff was rude and spoke little english. When we arrived, they had no hot water, which implied also no heating besides the air conditioner, which was not really making a difference in the room temperature. The window was not closing properly. We complained about it to the staff, who told us that we should wait until the next day (we were anyway staying only one night). We didn't have a comfortable sleep, as in the room it was very cold. Also, the staff didn't let some of our friends come and see our room, because 'if you don't sleep in the room, you are not allowed to go in'. At the end, they discounted us 13 euros from the room price because of the cold in the room, but I will not choose this hotel in Milan next time.
-big double bed and extra blankets -hotel location just at the metro station
-old house with high humidity which making it stink -very high ceilings in rooms making it impossible to heat the room with AC -location in area which gets flooded even just after one day rain -due to technical problems there was no hot water and it was not fixed during our 4-day stay -constant problems with a TV remote -it was not possible to pay by card again due to technical problems -very poor English of the staff
On Wednesday, 12th of Nov. there was all day raining in Milano. Finally in the evening the water from the street flood the reception and the situation becomes quite unpleasent... No electriticy, no hot water, no light. The staff wasn't prepered to support us. Hotel is situated below the level of the street, which should be considerated in such unexpected situation. check the weather forecast before you go - we couldnt go out from hotel and we lost La scala tickets...
It was close to where we were going It was cheap enough Breakfast was ok
2 beds pushed together is not a double bed They do not have functional parking but advertise they do
The hotel provided all the necessary toiletry required for a 2-week trip over Italy: toothbrushes and toothpaste, shavers and shaving cream, shampoo, shower gels and even slippers! Everything was included in the room rate. It was really convenient.
location is very good, price is superb, you have all you need in your room
Right next to the subway station. Fair price Air conditioner English speaking staff
Small room and bathroom
There is a minibar and kettle in the room. Wi-fi works good but it has a quota and you have to get a new access every 2-3 days.
Breakfast is not included to the price. Location is a little far from the city center altough there's a metro and tram stop nearby.
Close to Metro.
The hotel is near Marche metro station. The room is clean, has wifi
Very old room with uncortable beds
+ Very very close to metro station + Markets, restaurants around + Helpful staff + Room has all requirements (heater, cleaning equipment, tv...)
- Staff has poor English
