Galea Farm House  

Paradise! Set in an exquisite setting of citrus groves and brilliant flowers. Rooms are in former stone farm buildings brought up to a very high standard. Comfortable and attractive. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and bountiful.

As with the rest of Sicily, driving through the village close by was difficult, made worse by the tons of garbage piled high along the streets. Obviously not the fault of Galea, but off-putting for tourists.

You need a good map to find it!, And an even better one to find the motorway when you leave!!

The place was quiet with a wonderful view of Mount Etna with lemon groves all around the property. The housekeeper was a pleasant lady who was willing to assist when necessary. We had a delightful dinner there with plenty of wine and excellent service.

They need to provide better directions to the hotel. Once you know where it is located, then you have an easy time to get in and out.

I'm so happy to stay at you hotel 2 weeks ago. Galea is a marvelous place to rest! Everyone can find there a warm accept with a home atmosphere!The rooms is quite big, comfortable and cosy. They were cleaned daily. Breakfasts are varioble and fresh. Dinners are rich, very delicious with big portions. You will meet with excellent service and attentive staff. Besides you will find some piece of charming nature with Etna volcano and the splendid Galea' garden. You should rent a car there because a lot of places are hard-to-reach.

I was a backpackers. I had to get a town walking by serpentine road for about 15 min. The road is full of crazy drivers(( The beaches are mostly with the big black lava stones. I managed to find a part of the beach with shingle (near the very high tree on the embankment) and some sort of quiet sea because of the break waters :-) If you have a car you can reach some sand beaches getting Naxos or Taormina.

Air conditioning in room might have been better.

We liked Galea farm house very much. Only the first day there was a very noisy family who spoiled the stay at the pool. The other 3 days were very quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. We saw also in one of the reviews some comment on the food but we don't understand that. The choise in the restaurant was rather large and the food was very tastefull. Nice ratio between quality and price. Large pool, airco functions very good and the breakfast is splendid. Great place to be and good location to visit Catania, Taormina, Giardini Naxos and ... the Etna ofcourse.

The staff knows little English

The hotel was beautiful, nestled in a lemon grove and full of caracter. The room was nice and cousy but didn' t have a proper window. That is the only reason why I did not give 5 stars. I would love to revisit and spend more time there. I think it would be ideal for a young family.

Friendly and helpful staff. Food was good so was the service.Very pleasant place to stay.

We arrived after dark and it was very difficult to find the Galea Farm House without a gps, but we were very glad we stayed there. The hotel is very charming having been converted from a farm house to a b&B. The peoiple running the hotel were very friendly and helpful, and we had a great dinner there for a reasonable price. Even the complimentary breakfast the next morning was very good. I would easily stay there again without a second thought. It was a great value.

Difficulty getting there. Confusion between gps and Booking.com directions, plus the road they re on was closed and staff didn't advise me when I called for help. A 20 minute drive took nearly 2 hours.

Schitterend gelegen tussen de citroenbomen met zicht op de Etna. Fijn zwembad en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Vanuit Galea Farm House veel trips makkelijk te ondernemen zoals Etna, Taormina, Catania, stranden.

Excellent rapport qualité / prix !! Prestations très bien, propres, équipements très complet Cadre idyllique au milieu des citronniers et orangers avec point de vue super sur Etna Repas sur place et pti dej très bien et service très performant (rare ailleurs...)

Très joli endroit situé au cœur d'une citronneraie et avec une très belle vue sur l'etna. Chambres agréables, spacieuses et confortables Endroit retiré de la route, calme et reposant (sauf quand l'Etna est en éruption... mais très beau spectacle) Très bon buffet de petit déjeuner et restaurant fort agréable, bon et de bon rapport qualité/prix

Heel leuk B&B op een citroenfarm. Mooie kamer met terras naast de receptie en het restaurant. Goed eten en ontbijt in het restaurant. Ruime parkeer mogelijkheid.

Wij hebben hier 2 nachten doorgebracht. Eerste dag in het restaurant goed gegeten, op de 2e dag restaurant plotseling, zonder mededeling of opgaaf van reden gesloten.

Important => un Excellent petit déjeuné Cadre rustique plutôt chaleureux et agréable, Propreté, Accueil, Surface et aménagement des chambres

Le bruit de la climatisation réversible est un peu gênant

Wij hebben gekozen voor het Galea Farm House omdat zij goed aangeschreven stonden en vanwege de prijs. Wij hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf, het hotelpersoneel is altijd bereid te helpen (jammer dat zij vrijwel geen Engels spreken), het restaurant, de excursies en de ligging zijn erg goed. Daarnaast is de uitzicht op de Etna erg mooi. Een tip: de excursies naar de Etna zijn erg goed. De gidsen die daarvoor ingehuurd worden lichten je over vanalles in. Wij hadden onze camera verloren bij de Etna en hadden het hotelpersoneel hierover ingelicht. Zij hebben meerdere malen gebeld, helaas zonder resultaat. Even later, toen wij onderweg waren naar een volgende B&B, kregen wij bericht dat de camera gevonden was, en waren de eigenaren van Galea Farm House bereid de camera op te sturen naar ons thuisadres is Nederland. Hier hebben wij achteraf niets voor hoeven te betalen. Erg vriendelijk dus.

Het Farm House is moeilijk te vinden, zelfs met een Tom Tom. Daarnaast vonden wij het feit dat het hotelpersoneel geen Engels sprak ook een minpunt. Toch raden wij het Galea Farm House zeker aan!
