The best thing about this hotel is the location. Being near Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi and particularly Piazza della Signoria is so much better than staying closer to the cathedral. Palazzo Vecchio is open till 23:00 in summer, plus the draw of Loggia della Signoria (the outdoor statue area), so there is a far greater hive of activity around this part of town. Ponte Vecchio at night had small bands playing music as well. Great vibe! Internet access is wired (not wireless) in the rooms however it is fast and the wire reaches to the bed so you can use your laptop in comfort (well it did in the room I stayed in). On the first day the internet in the room was not working and incredibly it was fixed immediatley by an in-house technician who actually knew something about computers. Bed very comfortable, with great sheets and pillows. Bathroom was very clean, excellent shower with great towels. Ferragamo shampoo and shower gel (weirdly no conditioner) and small beauty pack with cotton buds, cotton pad, hair band, shower cap, etc. Breakfast was the usual mix of hot and cold buffet fare but far too expensive for 25 euros. The room had a bad odour throughout my entire stay - think sewage/old dead rat. I think it was coming through the air con as it came in wafts as well and was not in the bathroom. I told reception but nothing changed. I have heard before that sewage smells can be common in hotel rooms in Italy and as the air con was directly above the door entry it kind of dissapated by the time it reached my bed (so yes it was unpleasant but tolerable). Air con is turned off after midday so if you decide to sleep in one day like I did you will melt in summer getting ready in a hot room. Room is cramped though it had a small balcony. Television is the usual thousand channels of nothing in English except BBC and CNN. You can hire a movie for 16 euros but the range is limited. Fridge was small, packed with expensive drinks and snacks. I took them out and packed with my own pre-bought drinks and snacks though be warned it took the small fridge 2 days to cool them down (no joke). One evening I wanted to drink some Prosecco I bought in the room and after failing to cool it down I asked reception to put it into their freezer - one would assume a big hotel would have a freezer - but they didn't and they could not offer any suggestion as to how to sensibly assist the situation. In the end I suggested they got me a bucket of ice from their sister hotel and then the Prosecco would cool quickly in that. They complied and it worked but it did annoy me that I had to suggest it. Overall, the majority of the reception staff aren’t terribly warm - they don't have that "nothing is too much trouble" attitude – however I have heard that attitude is common amongst service staff in Italy so I kind of expected it.

Love love love this Hotel!!!! Wished we could have stayed longer!!! We will for sure come back here over and over again and recommend to all our friends and family and business acquintances. Anyone reading this, if you plan to visit Florence, huge mistake if you don't book this hotel. From the breakfast, the rooms, location, concierge service, the bellman were all superb! Overall this is a great hotel and a beautiful hotel right next to the Arno River and Ponte Vecchio and all the great shopping!! Perfect Location!! We had the best room!! Extra Large suite!!! Our daughter had her own room and so did my husband and I!! Ask for room #706!! Toiletries were all by Salvatorre Ferragamo and 2 flat screen TV's!! Extra plus!!! They have an amazing Fusion Restaurant that is a must try!!!

Location design and shared services with sister hotel. My room 312 had a very nice large balcony. Room size was adequate. Only complaint was access to shower in the bath. The glass door only just opened wide enough to step in because of a heated towel rail inside the bath area. Room 312

The pillow was too soft, even the spare one in the closet it's still soft. There should be the selection of pillow: soft, medium and hard. Apart from the pillow, I have a great time!!

As a design hotel, it is reputation in Japan. Actually, I stayed and felt so it. Particularly, the area of the room and the facilities which possessed it there were good. As is expected, I think that I said a design hotel of Ferragamo. I want to come again by all means. The number of guest rooms, the class of visitors were good, too. Thank you! Nothing. Your hotel is excellent ! great!

When we left the hotel and arrived at the airport our passports were still in the room safe at the hotel. After a phone call to the gentleman on reception, he retrieved the passports and got them delivered to us at the airport allowing us to check in 2 minutes before the gate was due to close. A big thank you to him for saving the day! Good hotel, great location. Not real orange juice at breakfast. This is a basic breakfast requirement.

Excellent staff at the reception; the ladies were friendly, efficient, to-the-point, and helpful. Room was of a good size and design was of Lungarno reputation. Nice art pieces around the hotel was pleasing. An unfortunate incident on one of the 4 nights we stayed there but won't fault the hotel completely on this.

Beautiful, elegant design. Nice breakfast. Very polite staff. For a high budget, pick a suite (like room 701) with verandas overlooking the town of Florence. Excellent location, just a minute walk from Ponte Vecchio. Some furniture a bit old in the rooms. Street view or back view from the rooms not so appealing. Only rooms on the 6th and 7th floor have a better view of the city. For people who communicate often with their cells, it is important to note that the connection is very bad in the hotel.
