We liked everything. Silvia was always in contact with me and arranged for a taxi ride from and to the airport. Hasna was also efficient and helpful in meeting us and explaining all the details. The apartment is cozy, clean, comfy and in the best location. Thank you Silvia and Hasna, you both made our trip to Rome a wonderful experience.
Location in the very city centre (close to v. del Corso and The Spanish steps).
The bathroom needs to be renovated a bit. The roof window needs to be fixed as it let cold air in the winter and rain in the room.
The location and realness of the apartment was great. We felt we were able to experience what it would be like to live in Rome. The apartment was spacious and had character. We loved the little terrace and the shower was amazing! The heating was great also.
The linen was worn, the kitchen wasn't very well stocked with crockery ie just 3 bowls. The dining chairs were really low for the table and many were broken. In general it was a little tired in need of freshening up, painting etc.
Placed well in Rome
1.Cold. heat not easy to get right. And in parts very cold even with heat on. 2.stairs very small and dangerous when walking with bags. 3. 5 people and only 4 cups for coffee. 4. No plates to eat out. 5. Check in lady could not speak English. communication difficult . 6. 1 pillow per person and no extra. For 300 euro per day. Rip off.
Staff helpful accomodating to changes in travel times. Very clean and in the heart of the old city.
Kitchen could be more equiped if making your own meals.
Location is perfect! House is simply well decorated, clean and peaceful. It has also fully equipped kitchen. It is felt like live in my own house in Rome.
Guesthouse has no reception. It took times -abour half an hour- to reach hotel personnel to check-in.
Excellent location in the heart of the city centre, great for night walks when all the spots are not so crowded.
Strange disposition of the apartment does not allow you to fully utilize the area of the aparmtnet. However for 2 persons absolutely OK
Excellent location, in the center of Rome, walking distance from all major touristic attractions with many shops, cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. The staff was very kind and helpful, willing to accommodate all our requests. The apartment is clean and well equipped with all home and kitchen appliances.
The apartment does not have hotel services and daily cleaning. However, we had to ask for changing the towels, which they did right away.
The location, the spacious appartment, the terraces (with view of the Peter's dome even!), the art books, being close to the attractions (we visited everything by foot, even with our 3 kids: colosseum and vatican only about half an hour!), a nearby supermarket, a fruitstand at the next corner,...
Almost nothing: it would be great to make the stairs a bit safer ( dangerous for small kids, could fall down)
The location is amazing, we have stayed in the building before and loved it. The set up in the apartment is great. WiFi was great - much better than last time.
No toaster, and no broom or mop to clean up during the week. The opportunity to get more towels during the week would also be great.
1.Location is just perfect, the very heart of Rome, though quite calm, close to the shopping area, food store, all the sights. 2. Extremely beautiful apartment! Very authentic! Someone really put one's heart and soul in decorating it! 3. The kitchen has everything you need. We actually saved a lot of money cooking instead of spending on cafes. 4. Everything is very clean and tidy 5. Silvia- the manager, was always very helpful 6. Air conditioning, hot water- everything worked just fine. When in Rome next time this is the place we are going to stay at for sure!
1. All the staff MUST know English (especially those who interact directly with the clients) , otherwise it's getting complicated ;( 2. I don't know why, but there were mosquitos at night in August
We had the apartment with the roof terrace, which is wonderful especially when there are street musicians playing below! There are two additional terraces off the bedrooms. This really does feel like being in someone's very comfortable, very clean and charachterful home; there are sofas galore, loads of books and some dvds. The kitchen is tiny but fully equipped and there is a washing machine and tumble drier - a great help with a family of 6.Two large double bedrooms, a single bedroom and a double sofa bed with 3 bathrooms and a utility/storage area mean this is great for short and long stays. This is in a shopping area so while there are many restaurants nearby, when shops close at night it is lovely and quiet. Stretch out on the roof terrace and enjoy! A light wasn't working and a maintenance guy we spotted at another apartment fixed it for us while we were out - great service. The Colosseum and Vatican are both about 30 minutes walk away so it's ideally situated for sight seeing. ps Try the ice cream from the cafe about 1 minute away when you turn left out the front door. Home made for decades and delicious.
Nothing was a problem for us here but you need to be aware of the check-in arrangements. Also the stairs won't be suitable for everyone.. I would suggest you find out in advance exactly where you need to go (the building and floor) to get the keys. I bumped into Silvia (who I had been emailing during the booking process) and she appeared to be leaving for the day! I still don't know where the office is but it's in a building across the way from Gambero. Once you have checked in you won't see any staff unless you go looking for them - they are very relaxed here. We were ok with the stairs and lift but I wouldn't recommend this apartment for the very elderly, very young or infirm. There are stairs to the (very small and old fashioned/quaint) lift and a few stairs to the apartment once you get out at the top. There are 5 levels in the apartment. I wouldn't have been happy with a young child (under 8-9) using the stairs and bannister (there was a large gap between the top spindles) to the top floor. Also there is a flight of stairs directly off the sitting room down to the front door.
The location is great. Short walks to Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps. Spacious apartment.
Second bedroom accessible only through first.
it has it's beautiful bedroom, and living-room with an antique radio (!) and a separate kitchen, with everything you want to cook italian pasta! In the very "heart" of the eternal city!
Proximity to all major attractions
perfect location, great staff. one bathroom was in slightly poor condition but otherwise we were very happy.
The location was excellent, within walking distance of some major tourist sites and conveniently located near a taxi stand. We were a multi-generational family of 9 and we rented two apartments. The terrace on the 3 bedroom was ideal for the entire family to hang out in the evenings. We enjoyed our stay very much.
There were quite a few stairs, but we'd been forewarned. The charm of the building made the stairs worth it.
Gambero G, especially, was a fantastic apartment for a group of adults and the balconies were great. The apartments were spacious, homely and comfortable Bathroom facilities for each bedroom Great location Excellent airport transfers arranged by staff
Can't think of anything The stairs might prove a problem for people with mobility problems. The lift broke down on us, so we only used it the once!
We were upgraded to a bigger apartment as apparently the aircon wasn't working properly in the other apartment. There is not one negative to speak of with the service, cleanliness, comfort and location, all were exceptional!
The location was excellent. Great assistance from silvia with transfer bookings.
The awkwardness of living in a confined roofspace had we known we would not have booked this property. No english speaking news tv channel. Shortage of basic reqs e.g dish wash liquid. No balcony or terrace as shown on advertising.
Unique design of our rooms, wi-fi, TV.
smell from bathrooms downstears, hot water runs on and off, elevator is compecated to operate
Loved location and terraces.
Could use a more thorough clean, it is an old building so I know it is challenging but a little more scrubbing needed in bathrooms, floors very dirty.
Well located for tourist purposes
Very warm flat with a very noisy air conditioning. The flat is full of mosquitos.
The room itself was lovely, and there were plenty of blankets provided if we got cold. I'm sure the rooms with the roof terrace would be spectacular. Our balcony was nice, but faced the interior courtyard, but at least it was quiet and let plenty of light into the room.
The walls were a bit thin and we could hear the family in the other room, especially their children and their television, as well as the children in the room above us running around in the morning and dragging chairs around a table for meal time. For the staff, the rating is lower because our initial liason had an injury and put us in touch with the woman who would be taking over and who would meet us when we arrived. I called her from the train station, the taxi, and from the door, and we waited for twenty five minutes at the door until finally the replacement called and said another staff member would be coming to let us in. The provisions--toilet paper, toiletries, were a little low and we didn't have enough to last us through our stay. The only technical problem is that when checking out, we were instructed to leave our keys on the table; however, the lift required one of the keys in order to operate it, so we had to take our luggage down the 3 flights of narrow stairs, which was manageble but inconvenient.
